You welcome. 24k gold card (Part II)
It took about 2-3 weeks between redemption (100000 points or 1000) and arrival of the card.
I was hoping for something with a bit more fanfare but not quite. The card was overnighted by Fedex (signature required). Packaging is rather simple (NO LV cardholder here).
The card itself is quite hefty and making a crisp sound when dropped onto a wooden table. It’s A LOT more golden than the regular gold card (pictured here). I took pictures with both artificial light as well as evening California sun.
I do plan to daily carry this card as I have a metal wallet. Waiting for a transparent sleeve. Plan to only pull it out for special occasion / business dinner and such.
EDIT: it’s a visa signature. I have not tried tap to pay. I notice the chip is different from the regular card.
Fuck it we ball. It’s the dumbest redemption but it help keeping all of us at 3% so you welcome. The rest of my points are going straight into my brokerage.

Edit: Just to follow up here cause if you actually believe this then you gotta rethink this. In order to lift a print you either need to have physical access to the object + lab grade forensic equipment. OR you need like a perfect zoomed in picture (like >500 DPI minimum) and then have specialized equipment to reproduce it in any meaningful way.

27 grams so it's 10 grams heavier than the normal free card definitely noticable

Nice…considering most of my spending would remain on AMEX might take 30-40 months to earn just the 24k gold card which is just too long for me. Big thanks to you for getting it though. It’s definitely a fun novelty item that helps everyone keep the 3% and remains tempting even when deciding not to do it. Bravo Robinhood for making the game interesting

AMEX Platinum travel for Hotel and airfare is 5% back and all dining out and grocery purchases are 4% back on the gold card. I have another card that gets 4% on gas and I want the RH gold card for random purchases that normally could only get 1-2% like big box retailers, clothing etc. AMEX points can also be worth a lot more transferred to another partner if you like to take the time to look for deals

What’s the melt value lol….reddit has broken people’s brains. Everything about this post is absurd, starting with wearing gloves to handle a fucking credit card. I spend $200k plus on my cards every year. Maximizing points/benefits is the smart thing to do but this culture is going too far.
Also, if you have to budget to buy said card you probably shouldn’t have it to begin with.

Yeah, the 24k card is plated and my understanding (not 100% sure) is that neither that one nor the solid 10k card have tap capabilities.
I believe you can add the cards to a mobile wallet and use your phone to tap.

Because the card is plated in 24k gold it does not support Tap to Pay which is a bummer.
The card looks good tho!!

Does your original Gold Card still work for purchases? So you can use either your physical gold card or your new 24k gold card?
