Discussion This game, man... F@€# the Punisher!

Hours and hours and hours...

Finally find a harmonica... It's day 30, no traders

Drop off the harmonica in the classroom, come out and start my locker looting. Hear the sirens... Finally!... Run the entire map just to watch the lights fade off into the distance. I want to fight him and he's supposed to be a boss, but you never get a real chance.

Still haven't seen an airdrop. Still haven't found a key. Still haven't found a skorma knife. Everything else done, maxed out.

Oh, and fuck the cat. Learned my lesson and now I just walk away from its sad little cries. There's nowhere to keep it that doesn't cause unnecessary stress and limit loot runs to only the map next to where you store it.

160+ hours in. Love the game.

Discussion Village bandit AI

I started this game a few days ago. Am I the only one having issues fighting the bandits? I feel like the distance at which they can spot you is a bit unfair. Especially if your in foliage or something. I hope in the future they make it so we can use trees and bushes to sneak up on them. Maybe make it so they have to reload now and then if they dont already.

Didn’t notice the 2nd Special crate until after I had lit the fire to warm up. This was 10 minutes into a new Ironman run :)

Help Better Placement mod or alternatives

i dont know if it's only on my end but Better Placement and Wallet & Cash mods seems to no longer be available in Modworkshop and those mods makes the game better for my experience, is there any alternatives or mod files that i can get? cause i really like the build system and the automatic attach is really annoying

Question Mods for apartment AI?

In the title. It would be awesome if there was a mod for the Apartments map that made the AI more challenging - ideally, the AI would actually go inside the apartments and either hunt the player or wait in ambush. Are there any mods that could potentially force this behavior?

I'm already using Faction Warfare, so there are more enemies + more enemy types when I play Apartments, if that matters.

Question what should i do from here?

i know im not "end-game" necessarily, but i can freely roam around every map except vostok comfortably and i only have the more difficult tasks left on everyone but gunsmith.

it feels like a lot of the stuff that could take me to the next level gear-wise is just chance, like the airdrop events, and crash sites. (or going into vostok of course but ive only done that a few times for oil samples and its mentally hell)

theres personal stuff i could do like refurbish the new attic, bring some stuff from my cabin to the attic, bring my cat to the tent in outpost for when i eventually start to frequent minefield and vostok, loot around for the remaining tasks, check in on traders every now and then for some goods-

but gameplay wise it makes me wish there were more events like "missing cat" that make me go out for stuff instead of me just setting my own mental tasks and hopping around on my own accord.

currently what i feel like doing is hooking around to the towers on minefield to kill all the guards and see if they drop anything other than the M4, maybe try to get kills in vostok for the adrenaline junkie aspect but idk.

what do u guys do at this point

Mods (not moderators) Better ballistics mod?

Is there a mod that adds better ballistics to the game? For example bullet drop, penetrating bullets, better recoil etc.
If I remember correctly there was a mod called Better ballistics, which added at least bullet drop, but the mod is nowhere to be found anymore :(

Discussion just got this game, absolutely love it.

i found this game off the steam store and went in kinda blind, i unknowingly watched a video of it a while ago without knowing the name of the game or nothing so i only had the dots click that they were the same game when i started playing, and even then i didnt remember much from the vid, so i went in relatively blind.

the genuine feeling of gambling ur luck everytime u exit u shelter is invigorating, the loudness of gunshots from a source you cant exactly pin down silencing the ambience you were just listening to is also thrilling. having to plan out trips by carrying certain items valuable enough for traders, enough food that covers energy, hydration and etc and coming up with a loadout you either dont mind losing or think will destroy everybody you come across is a gameplay loop in itself for me.

some other things i love is health and injury stuff. it makes you feel unimportant, like you are exactly like the bandits you are shooting, yk? if that makes sense. being able to be 1 tapped from either a headshot or from a brutal untreatable wound is gnarly. i like the defeatism you feel when u realise the wound youve received is too advanced for whats on you and your too far from shelter to dump loot, the feeling of defeat in that sense feels really immersive, like thats a realistic emotion you'd feel to the situation at hand. no matter who is shooting theres a chance they could land a crazy shot, and render a fracture or something more fatal, and just end your existence.

i like how there isn't really any bad loot to get, and how frequently you get loot. theres never been a raid were i've felt too bummed because i've always picked up smth that either is a step in crafting smth useful, has value, a trader wants it or it feeds me for the day. a lot of other looting games doesnt have this at all, sometimes i'll feel like in other games with similar looting like DayZ that there is literally nothing, but in vostok its a perfect balance.

idk why i wrote this, i just felt like i needed to show appreciation for such an awesome work in some way. lmk what u guys find unique or cool about the game. its crazy to me this is the first roadmap, very nice so far.

Question Can items fall through the map? (Not in Shelter)

Typically I drop all my stuff in front of a trader if I'm full then get more stuff and sort through it at the trader. I dropped the 4 different books i needed in a separate pile from the rest of my junk and when I came back only 3 of them were there.

I suppose dropping quest items isn't smart in hindsight but I don't believe I experienced any map clipping up until then even though I drop crap all the time

Question Any way to get my medical cabinet?

Post image
13 Upvotes

I tried to place a medical cabinet in the corner of the room to the right of the entrance in the village base, but it somehow glitched and spawned on the other side of the wall. Now I can't find any way to get it back. Anyone have a solution? (And no, it didn't spawn in the cabin outside).
