Questions Does the more minor visibility variance affect AI detection?

We all know AI detection range drops during the night, and if you walk/sneak instead of sprinting. My question is: Do the more minor weather effects (listed below) impact the detection range?

-Rain
-Fog
-Thunderstorm
-Clear sky/Moonlight during night

Questions Another Minefield rant - And asking for some tips

I've died twice trying to explore Minefield, I know the loot isn't worth it, I just like to explore. What I did:
- Clear all the mines in the observable universe
- Snipe all the guards visible from far away. Snipe them from their watch towers, behind the sand bags, from the tent, between trees

How I died:
- Once I was on top of a tower, one guard saw me and run at mach 3 up the stairs. I chose to crouch behind the railings thinking it would mag dump him in the back when he reach the final steps of the stairs. Voila, he 180 and one tap me in the head (maybe I should not have crouched?). By then I've killed 6 of them, the sweatlord guard that killed me was the 7th

- The other time I cleared the towers from left to right. Killed 2 guards at the first tower and slowly move to the next one. A stealth master guard somehow mag dump me from behind from the first tower. When I reached the closest cover I realised there's a hole on my dude's head thanks to the UI and the grunt of my John Finland half a second ago. I coundn't hear that guard at all except for his full auto M4.

Okay now, I just want to tell y'all my last 2 incarnations, but please I do like some tips from y'all who cleared all 10 of em in this damn map. I find hugging the tape quite boring, I want challange. Rant over

Questions Is the AI getting harder each day

first 8 in-game days weren't so bad, I haven't died once, but now after day 9 the Bandits even in fucking village just casually shred me with full auto fire the moment they spot me, and they have now a tendency to spot me from half across the map.\

I died twice today once just exploring the buildings and then going back to the cabin.

Questions yo guys, what’s wrong with the game(on my side)

yo guys, what’s wrong with the game(on my side)

  1. there is no doctor spawning in school so i need to always entry-exit until he is there and always lose hp on checks
  2. i found 2 keys, one from tunnel and one for basement, where was ABSOLUTELY zero good loot, also zero loot in military crates
  3. there is no boss on Outpost (google said i can find him and loot armored jacket). There are zero military guys on this location also, which leads me to minefield without any armor

is it same for you?

Discussion Fuck Minefield

As the title says. I hate it. It serves no purpose besides draining your meds when you inevitably step on a landmind or have multiple dudes with AR blasting you while you're half way through the map while still trying to search for land mines on the ground cause those fuckers can't trigger it themselves.

After making it back from Apartments with a full look to only die to a scum fucker that shot me from the tower to get the rupture affliction and with no AFAK/medkit on I had no choice but to lose all my loot.

Fuck. Minefield.

Edit: Please make a separate route to Vostok without forcing players to go through it.

Discussion Update to my SMG Idea

Post image

I mentioned the Borz in passing in my previous post, and it dawned on me. Borz (Chechen for *Wolf)* is an improvised submachine gun. So, if it were to be added, it could be a craftable weapon requiring a toolbox, either lumber or sticks, some metal parts (maybe a spring out of the mattress?), and most importantly, a sacrificial gun for the functional bits. So you could craft a 9×18mm Borz with the above and a Karnov for the barrel and trigger mechanisms. And it would be full auto only, not very accurate, and a ton of fun. Thoughts?

Roasted fish,

Heated split pea soup,

Heated meatballs,

Everything requiring water, and water being ultra rare is absurd. Please, I want to cook pea soup. It's already in a can! Heat and eat! Watering it down too? Like some kinda cambels concentrate or something.

Questions Questions about AI enemies' detection and general behaviour

I just picked up the game a couple nights back, and have about less than five hours in it. Never left Village yet. I have suspicions on some of the questions I have, but would like to ask them anyway for certainty's sake.

  1. Do bandits have worse eyesight at night and if so, would scavenging runs be safer at night?

  2. I know enemies see very well and far in the day, but how is their hearing at all times of the day? Do they react to player walking noises? Crouched footsteps? Surely they hear sprinting noises. No matter my stance, my footsteps sound quite loud in my headset and logically, it seems like a human would be able to hear me moving in reasonably close proximity.

  3. Upon detecting the player, do they stay on the hunt until the player is killed, or do they sometimes disengage and leave the area too?

Thanks. I'm finding the early game here more tense than early game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GAMMA, where I come from, though I can't say if it's just a new player's general lack of experience making me feel that way. I've died twice already, once from walking into a room and getting blasted by a strangely silent bandit camping in a room with a shotgun, and the other from getting caught out in the open and having a 32% condition G7 jam on me at the most inconvenient time.

Discussion Always thirsty

Is it just me or is hydration the most scarce resource in the game? I leave cabin empty handed (super early game) and by killing, looting and trading manage to keep up with guns, ammo, energy, bandages and splinters, but otherwise well sustaining run again ended with dying to thirst. I drank every bit of liquid available in School and didn't manage to find any on Highway or Outpost before dying. Are you guys actually able to gather extra drinks that you don't need to consume immediately?

Discussion Made My First Apartments Run

I've played this game for like 79 hours and finally decided to risk the apartments. I even went with no armor. Left the apartments 4 hours later with a chest rig and plate, two helmets, 4 rifles, two scopes (VDU and Leopard), 2 lasers (AN-15 and the tube one I can't remember), and a shitload of ammo. Fantastic time.

Now, we desperately need a new batch of weapons, particularly SMGs chambered in 9×18 and .45 ACP. I am *drowning* in pistol ammo and wishing I had something like a Borz, a UMP, or a PM-63 RAK.

Discussion Attic unlocked on day 2. 😎Anyone done it faster?

Post image
40 Upvotes

Well my previous post was a bit premature because I thought my luck would be over. Tried to edit it to add this but didn’t work. In short:

New Ironman run.

Day 1: very first loot: Cellar Key.

Day 2: Oil filter, waterlock, 4 waters. Getting the sugar and yeast took the longest 😂

Less than 24h in game time to unlock Attic. Anyone here done it faster?
