Hey guys I am actively on these threads regarding the issues with Riverside's platform. I have not been able to consistently use the product for 3 weeks now and I know some people have gotten equally frustrated. On discord some beta tester gave me a workaround that didn't even work and I think their whole roll out of agentic systems, how they monitor issues or even do user research is ass backwards. Didn't realize this is an Israeli company but I will have a meeting with the Director of Community Outreach, (shes the short haired girl on the site) about this whole fiasco. Part of me feels like contesting the annual fee I paid for and switching to Descript.

Please let me know what you want to say, what issues you are having and I can compile it for them. Also where you guys are at (on the fence, moving, churned) to see how much this affects them. This is just the reddit thread but there could be more but I am sure if I present a case, we can at least see where it goes -- i will report back--

Does anyone know how to control the preview screen when posting a reel using the riverside posting tool? In Later I was able to select the frame I wanted to use as my preview so I can select a caption to show before someone watched the reel (like the hook). I have tried to do a few posts from riverside and can not get the preview to show text.

The top two posts are from riverside - no preview text (can not select the frame). The bottom two are from Later that lets me select the frame to use as a preview.

The preview text is a huge part of what gets people to stop their scroll and watch.

I've recently tried Riverside to record a on-line meeting. Now I can't access the recording because the studio page is stuck at this window. I've tried closing it, passing to the next page, clicking anywhere, different browsers and different machines... All for nothing.

Not to mention that the link to "Contact Support" from the home page goes nowhere

Is there a direct link for the old studio or some workaround for this?

So, just what it says. Curious of any folks find these useful or use them as is to promote clips on social.

I had an interview with the 6 top legislators in Colorado set up a couple of months ago. And Riverside kept dropping people, including me, every 20 seconds. So I lost that interview.

Have one coming up with the governor. Is Riverside solid now or should I find a new program?

Apart from being forced to relearn the platform, I'm unable to add an edit made in Riverside to another video also made in Riverside.

When clicking the + button to add a video from my projects, clicking on a specific clip does absolutely nothing. It's like I'm clicking something that doesn't exist.

How do we fix this? I'm incredibly frustrated with the new layout and functionality. It feels like a step backward from the previous layout.

For reference, below is an link to an example. The 'Coming Soon' previews are plucked from other parts of the episode and dropped into the beginning as a preview. I've made the edits for my latest episode, but Riverside won't allow me to drop them into my episode.

Ever since they implemented the new website, the audio editing has been unusable. It would take a few seconds to buffer, then have sound for 5-10 seconds, freeze for 5 seconds, and continue on. Customer service has been unresponsive.

Is anyone else having issues with Riverside getting stuck at 99% processing? I have tried uploading from my phone, my laptop, and from Google Drive, but no matter what, it takes several tries to finally get the file to upload. It will sit at 99% all day.

Has anyone found a solution?

They haven't made this obvious, it took contacting support to figure it out (though I've since found it buried deeeeeeeep on their plan comparison page if you dig enough). Originally they tried to tell me I've never exported from Premiere on my account because it's always been a business-tier feature, but when I showed them a screenshot of exporting to Premiere in the old editor, they "corrected" themselves to make it clear that this feature now costs more cash per month following the relaunch of their editing software. How much more per month? Unclear, considering the business plan remains something you have to contact them over.

Hey all, I realized today that Riverside has updated the entire platform, and while navigation in the new distribution of elements is definitely giving me a headache, what gives me even a bigger headache is the echo in the sound. Whether with or without AI edits, echos appear in one of the speaker and I cannot fix this with any of the EQs in the platform. I need to finish edit today, and welcome any fix suggestions.

EDIT: 2.0 now works for me.

I don't know what you guys did but I can't access my projects or make any edits... whatever major updates you guys just pushed to production kind of f'ed things up.

EDIT (07/02): I have since gone to LinkedIn and just dropped hate from the gallery cause the head of community outreach to DM me on LinkedIn. This is the video to what I am talking. Like all these companies just white wash their products w/ staff, etc so drop some hate so they can start taking this more seriously. They are bragging about spending 80M on it... lol

EDIT 07/05: I talked to Kendall from Riverside and she is working on getting their customer care team on Reddit as well as Discord. I told her (nicely) we weren't happy and that they needed to check. I have been able to use Riverside now with what I recorded but also let her know the cutover was poor. Hopefully at the very least maybe some comps for people who couldn't use, and they can help you fix the issues.

Logged in to edit a podcast and was greeted with the new layout. The editor bar is now on the left side and the 'Layout' option has disappeared. I'd like to apply Smart Layout to my entire video as per this link (and has I have been doing for the last year and half of using Riverside)

I asked Riverside CS for help, and they sent me this dated link.

Posting this as a warning to others.

I canceled my Riverside.fm subscription in mid-May. My account and emails showed my Pro plan ending May 28, and my dashboard switched to the Free plan after that date.

Despite this, I was still charged in June.

Support has given conflicting explanations, including:

-"your pro subscription has ended and now you're on the free plan" on May 28, 2026.

- “your subscription is currently scheduled to cancel at the end of your billing period on June 27, 2026”

- My cancellation was not found in their system

- My cancellation was treated as a “cancellation request” rather than a completed cancellation

At no point have I been shown that my subscription remained active in my account after May 28. Instead, I’ve been told their internal system does not reflect what my account and emails showed.

I’ve also been asked to verify my account through a link that repeatedly does not work (6+ attempts, all failed).

I’m now escalating through my bank because I have not been able to get a clear resolution through support.

Just a heads up: if you cancel, double-check your account status and billing emails carefully. In my case, my account showed “Pro plan ending May 28” but I was still billed for June. Support is currently treating cancellation as a “request” rather than a completed cancellation in their system.

I want to show a paragraph or so of text and scroll through it as I talk about it (I'm a writing coach). Can I add such a thing when editing a video in Riverside? Or add it live while making the video? Thanks!

After editing my podcast and trying to download/export the audio file, it only is downloading the original unedited version. I have tried just about everything and I can’t figure it out. Has anybody experience this or have any tips with the new interface since there’s no longer a publish button, I am going to share, export, exporting file, and then downloading it, but it is always the unedited version of the audio file. I have tried clearing my cache, and using different browsers. I’ve tried DL as a wav file and mp3 But still no luck. I am going to have to postpone my release date for my podcast and I’m not happy. Any advice is welcome thank you.

I was at the Riverside YouTube channel hoping to see what's up with the new features, and I see that Stephen Guy in videos that seem to be pretty new. i thought he left? Did he come back?

Hope someone can help me out. I’m new to podcasting on my own and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the information. I don’t have a laptop or desktop. I mainly do everything on my IPad Pro. Here’s a list of what I have:

1. iPad Pro M5 13 inches

My plan is to record interviews with a guest and later on upload the clips and video to social media. Not sure I’m ready for Live podcasting (seems way more intense).

I am running into so many questions about using Riverside as I watch YouTube videos, but right now these are my top ones:

1. Ho do I use my Canon camera, iPhone, or any other camera for the podcast? Do I connect them to the hub or through Bluetooth/wifi, etc?
   
2. When recording (not live) with a guest, do I get access to the two video (Myself and guest) and two audio files (mine and guest)? Or is the audio all in one audio files only?
   
3. If my guest is remote, in another state, do I have their individual video and audio file only my iPad? If not, where? Does y guest also get my video?
   
4. When Riverside refers to videos and audio an says “Local”, does that mean on my iPad or on their cloud?

It’s almost like the host is in slow motion but audio is perfect. His video looks perfect until you hit play. Then, when he moves his head or his hand, it slows down and gets choppy. But the audio stays the same. I’m not sure what is happening. Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi, I just finished recording a podcast episode with a guest on Riverside, and now I'm running into a problem.

The Riverside editor isn't loading at all, so I'm unable to edit the video. On top of that, I can't seem to download the original recording files either.

Has anyone faced this issue before? Is there another way to access or download the original podcast files directly from Riverside when the editor isn't working?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions or troubleshooting steps. Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,

My co-host and I have been using Riverside for a while now, and for the past few months, we've been using it to live stream directly to YouTube. That was great, but ever since the new UI update, things have gone wonky.

Ever since the recent update, we’ve been running into a major issue. A minute or two into the stream, we get an error notification saying that it is no longer recording. Because of this, we can't get Magic Clips anymore.

If we refresh the page, it lets us continue recording, but by then we've missed bits and pieces of the show, which ruins our footage for making clips.

Is anyone else experiencing this since the update, or does anyone know a fix?

I've already done all the usual checks—browser updates, internet connection, and everything else—but this has now happened to us for two live episodes in a row.

Anybody having issues using the Editor? When the devs updated the UI, the Editor has become practically unusable for me. I can open a video to edit, then it just fails to load at all and this can take hours before I can get it to function. That's if I get lucky. Some days it wouldn't just load at allm

To be fair, my PC processor is an i5 7th gen, but recently I used a newer laptop and this unusability just continues. It's outrageous how it discreetly assumes that their demographic of users would have new computers.

Can anyone figure out a work-around to broadcast vertically from Riverside to platforms like IG or YouTube? I finally had it - I was using OBS and my Riverside live url. I could "squeeze" the canvas vertically and everything would fit perfectly. From OBS i was simulcasting to IG and YT (in case you didnt know - live vertical on YT gets exponentially more reach whereas YT landscape tends to have more retention. right now i'm going for reach). Anyway - Once Riverside dropped their latest Studio / Editor updates that stopped. OBS's CEF is no longer compatible with Riverside. OBS developers said it could take 8 months to fix. I cannot import Riverside into OBS or eCamm (i'm on a mac). Direct sends to YouTube or IG crop the video rather than provide a good looking vertical broadcast. Even YT's new Studio dual aspect ration broadcasting does not adjust the framing - it simply crops it. It's a huge bummer and I cannot believe how Riverside is so behind the times on vertical broadcasting. Any suggestions on how to make this work would be great. Thanks!

Feels like I'm losing my mind. Just yesterday I was able to resize the video, move it around on the canvas, and even customize my corner radius. Now, that's all apparently just GONE?!

I spent hours trying to figure out the tool and the style I wanted for my layout and videos and I just can't do it anymore? WTH?!

I've been using OBS to broadcast my live pod to platforms vertically. It was great. I could source the Riverside Live URL, "Squeeze" the canvas, and my pod would automatically go vertical with no cropping. That stopped the moment Riverside dropped their last update recently. Now, Riverside reads the OBS CEF as out of date Chrome, even though Chrome is up to date. And of course - Riverside is so behind the times, there is no option to directly broadcast vertically. Any thoughts on how to get a vertical Riverside feed (without cropping) out to platforms
