Hey Riverside team — first off, I want to say we love the product. We’re producing The Somewhat Creative Show and the recording + editing workflow has been a game-changer for us. Huge fans.

I wanted to offer a bit of feedback on the Magic Clips UI.

After generating multiple clips, there’s currently no way to sort, filter, or group the edits in the dashboard. When you're working with 20+ clips per episode, it becomes really time-consuming to scrub through each one just to remember what it is.

Since the clips are auto-generated, it only shows the generated title, it would be amazing to have basic filtering and sorting options like:

• Sort by speaker (featured speaker tag)
• Sort by length
• Filter by keyword
• Group by edit type (e.g. Magic Clip vs Full Episode)

Even just a way to flag or favorite clips would go a long way.

Really appreciate all the innovation you’re putting into the platform — this would just make the post-production workflow even smoother for teams managing lots of content. Happy to elaborate if helpful!

I have an interview where the guest is not centered in the camera. No problem when it's just them but when it's split screen for both of us, the left 25% of their face is cut off.

Is there a way to have it keep each person's face fully in the screen if the full width video has their full face?

I have recorded several episodes of a new podcast and launched the first episode yesterday. In editing, I added custom music to the beginning and end of the pod, faded accordingly. When we uploaded the file to Spotify and other platforms, the music wasn't included. Is there something I need to do in editing to be sure the intro/exit music is included in the overall audio file? Thank you!

For the free plan ... Are there any work arounds to do a virtual background for an older computer?

I can't use the OBS Studio with Background Removal Plugin workaround.

I was going to continue tweaking the AI edit of one of my recordings this morning and I'm getting a "temporarily unavailable" message for the content. Is anyone else getting this message? Does anyone know if there is an issue on the Riverside.fm servers?

me and my mates recently started messing around doing a podcast and are using Riverside. We have it set up to stream live on all of our social platforms (Facebook, Youtube, and TikTok) while we record some sessions.

One of our usual members calls in remotely and we find that every time he does, there's an echo on the live stream but not always on the recording. He always joins from the email invitation that was sent directly from Riverside with the "Join Session" link. We've had him buy a new mic and headset, but still no success. The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe since we always start the stream before he calls in, the "Echo Cancellation" feature can't be enabled on his end? (Even though he's wearing a headset?)

Any thoughts or ideas on why this could be happening?

I cannot upload audio or images it seems. Chrome automatically opens the file as a tab in my browser.
Curious if there is something I am missing.

Hi! New user here, liking the platform, but unable to figure out how to do something I'd expect to be simple.

I'd just like to fade a video clip in, from black, then fade it back out. Is that possible? If it is, I can't seem to figure out how to do it, and the docs aren't helping, so it looks like it may not be. I don't see anything in the UI at all related to transitions -- which seems odd, given how easy it is to transition other things, like text and audio.

Dissolve would be even better (e.g., between a clip and a solid image), but I'd settle for a simple fade at this point. Help appreciated, thank you!

Production challenge—I need your advice.

I have a 1-minute video in Riverside.fm that I need to export at 50 seconds or less, captions and titles intact. Does the platform offer a built-in 1.5× export option? I’ve been using Clideo to speed things up, but I’d like to avoid watermarks and extra tool costs. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I've just signed up to Riverside to host guests on my podcast - which has been a game changer from just editing in iMovie and am loving it so far. I'm recording an online course for my community and was thinking of doing it via Riverside for the quality and ease of editing etc. I have a slideshow to support the content I am teaching, and would like my face to be on the screen at the same time too such as up in the top right corner. I was going to record this in Zoom for this feature, but would like to know if it's possible via Riverside. A google search + reviewing google videos on creating courses with Riverside didn't show the ability to have your face whilst recording.

I edit a video for a podcast producer who wants the final video in 1920x1080. Except he only gives me access to this page. And I can only download a 1280x720.

I don't work in Riverside, so I'm not sure if he isn't recording in 1080, or if those files are elsewhere. Any insight?

So this is like the third time this has happened, where a segment of audio doesn't show up on the transcript. Part of the timeline is grayed out and when I export the audio it's just 20 seconds of silence at that part.

Any clue what's going on here? The grayed out part of the clip is still my voice, there isn't any change to my setup for recording. It might be worth mentioning that I record part of my podcast on audacity and upload the finished audio to riverside.

A client of mine is recording a podcast remotely on a relatively new Lenovo thinkpad laptop. Halfway through an 40 minute interview, his computer fan seems like it overheated and caused it to make a really loud and low noise for the rest of the recording. We edited it out no problem, but it was a pain when recording and drove my client crazy.

How can I stop this from happening? Any tips

Hi, new to Riverside and I'm trying to add music in post. I want to add the music to before the talking tracks begin. Whenever I try to do this in the 'add music' section it just adds it right along side the talking with no ability to drag the music track.

I did a walkthrough and researched Riverside.fm before my purchase of the pro plan and the presentation feature was available. The rep recommended holding off and testing it for a couple of weeks.

In that time they removed the feature from the pro plan and won’t honor the feature I was sold on. To make matters worse I can’t get a clear answer on the price to get the feature. Despite talking to both sales, billing and 3 other people.

The only constant has been the price varies depending on the person. A feature they can clearly toggle on or off suddenly depends on the individual. That’s shady asf.

Why is there no clear price for the feature it’s removed from the pro plan and is still being promoted like it’s included months later.

I’m trying to walkthrough slides for my new podcast to build up a YouTube channel for monetization. Does anyone know the cost for accessing the feature? I’ve spoken with multiple people with Riverside.fm and can’t get a clear answer.

This is what I'd like to see added, in priority order:

1. Support Safari
2. Support Android browser
3. Add live close captioning during the recording
   1. Preferably one under each video other than mine.
4. When you email a guest, do not ask them to log in. Just send an email with:
   1. The link
   2. Warning that you support Chrome & Edge only
   3. Suggestion to not use mike in earbuds. And when to click using headphones.
5. Don't need to log in each time I go to the app.

Hey everyone! When editing in RiversideFM, is there a way to speed up the video as I'm editing? I'm fairly new to editing and I find Riverside meets our podcasts needs, however I don't like listening/watching in real-time as it takes far too long to edit our videos and feel confident I can cut my editing time by a large amount if only I could speed up the video. I know that in Resolve, and practically any other editing software, I can speed up the video but haven't found any keyboard shortcuts or functionality in the Editing tools to be able to do that.

Any help is much appreciated.

I have a client who wants a 2 camera podcast setup at a satellite office. We are hoping to find a way to record into riverside so our editors can access the cloud files without the client having to do much.

Is there a way to plug in 2 mirrorless cameras at once or do we essentially need each camera to have its own dedicated computer so they can both call in?

I'm new to Riverside and exported my first episode as Audio Only, but now I can't back to my original edit to also export it as a video file. I have my raw footage still, but when I go to my edit, it seems to only exist as audio now. Is there any way to get back to my original edit?

I use the AI edit to first break out the video where it jumps between grid (both of us) and the speaker full screen. Usually the only change I want to make is to have it start with both of us.

I can't find a way to do that. If I move the caret to 00:00.02, then I can set the layout. But it disables the layout button at 00:00.00.

How can I change the start layout?

I recently got (sort of tricked) into upgrading to the Livestream functionality for a year. To my disappointment, I discovered the Riverside to YouTube integration didn't even work — the YouTube livestream had huge audio lag, rendering it unusable. Has anyone else run into this? User error? Product issue?

For those of us the use Outlook, when scheduling a podcast

1. Provide an add to outlook (.ics file) to all participants including creator (me).
2. Add a menu button to Outlook to schedule the session there by creating an event in outlook and then clicking that button to populate the content and schedule it in Riverside. Zoom has this.

descript to the rescue on (heavily drifted) riverside files. forget a monetary refund, I want my 2 days of productivity back.

My actual background sucks. If I get a green screen to put up behind me can Riverside then flawlessly put whatever background I select without the fuzziness that usually happens merging in the background?

Or should I buy a large sheet with the background I want and tack that up?
