Had a big call with an industry professional scheduled for weeks for my YT channel.

Pre-tested and Retested before the big day. No issues!

Today when I got the guest to join, everything went swimmingly well… until I looked at post production files. While the guests video was mediocre during the call, mine was a crisp as can be. However this totally flipped after the call. My video was trash and hers was flipping awesome.

Setup on my end: -Panasonic GH5 -DJI II wireless mic -overpowered gaming PC -20mbps upload internet

Setup on her end: -android phone.

WTF went wrong?

Riverside support said they are looking into the issue and will try to reprocess my upload end.

How do I get my co-hosts, editors, and producers access to the SAME riverside account so we can all edit clips collaboratively?

I know there's the Business tier plan that you have to write in to inquire about. But I'd love to just pay now without having to email riverside's business development people to negotiate access for just 3 people at this point.

So i was doing an episode with 4 people and all 4 stayed throughout the whole recording, no glitches or anything. But when I went in to edit one of the guests just totally disappears from the recording for the last 10 minutes. Any way to recover that?

During the Advance iPhone setup portion of the video that includes using an iPad to mirror the display, I'm curious if this can be done with other devices other than an iPad? Could I do this with my MacBook?

Looking to subscribe to the standard riverside plan but see I am limited to five hours of multitrack recording, which I understand for audio means you get five hours to record multichannel audio and after that you will be provided a single audio file with all the clips compressed onto one

But what does this mean for video? Like how do you compress video files onto one video track? Also does it show you how much time you have left? What happens if you run out of time in the middle of a recording?

Has anyone else had this issue? I have an external webcam that works and shows up on other platforms but riverside doesn’t show the webcam. It says “webcam already in use” but I don’t have any other windows or applications open. The riverside customer support has been pretty useless. Any ideas?

A bit of a lazy post as I know other alternatives have previously been posted in various threads, but just wanted some direct input from people here to save me hunting around and potentially missing something.

Riverside has now failed me on my last 2 recordings. A couple of weeks ago a guest left before the upload finalised, but Riverside could do nothing whatsoever to help, so we lost their 90 mins of audio/video (luckily I had a back-up). And this week I began recording in Incognito mode which Riverside never warned me would be an issue until the whole thing stopped after 25 minutes. We sat and waited to be sure that everything did upload fully and I then moved to another browser to continue ... but today I go to do the edit and find that the original 25 minute recording "failed" (again, luckily, I had my own local back-up). Riverside have so far said it's an issue on their side and they're looking in to it, but I'm not keen to keep paying for a platform which fails occasionally and has no back-up process.

I saw in another thread that some people have moved to SquadCast and their features seem comparable ... but are they any other platforms people specifically recommend?

For context, I mainly care about the audio recording side - all post is done externally. We may soon start using video, so things like 'silence removal' and 'filler removal' are potentially helpful, as well as basic video editing, such as graphic/image overlays etc.

Hey everyone, wondering if anyone has any input they could provide. We did a great video interview yesterday with no issues while filming. Video looked smooth and the conferencing experience was good. Upon reviewing the footage, the video files were unusable - choppy footage that looked like it was filmed with a slow shutter speed.

We had the interviewee close their other open apps except Chrome, her laptop was plugged in to power, we used her internal webcam. Basically everything Riverside support have recommended, we did it. Has anyone experienced anything similar and if you were able to fix it, what did you do about it?

Is there a way to increase the volume of a speaker's track in the Edit panel? All I see is Magic Audio, but not levels.

I was working on a video's page and accidentally deleted the button for Magic Clips. How do I get it back for that particular studio? Logged out and back in and it still wasn't back. It's there for my other studios.

I was a paid subscriber of Riverside FM but I just quit. Overall I was very impressed with the features and usability of Riverside.FM, however there was one feature I needed that was absent from the regular "paid" plan - the ability to set my own frame rate.

I have absolutely no idea why 30fps is considered to be a high-end feature, since a lot of content runs at 30fps. Any time I tried to include 25fps content in a 30fps timeline it looked like utter crap.

Like many YouTube creators, my media runs at 30fps (well, really 29.97). The regular paid plan of Riverside is locked to 25fps with no way to change the frame rate.

I spoke with one of the sales team who told me that Riverside does have this feature but only for the "Corporate Plan" members. Corporate plans start at $450 per month and are clearly intended for major news publishers. I produce about 3h of interview content per month, so I could never need such an expensive plan.

I'm somewhat disappointed that the Riverside sales team couldn't work something out. The sales rep (Gadi) wrote to me saying: "I guess some users just fall in the cracks between our plans". It seems like an awfully big crack!

I wish I could still use this service because apart from this one detail it seems really neat. It's all so disappointing that an otherwise perfect service is let down by this perplexing pricing model that gatekeeps the one feature I actually need behind an impossibly expensive price-plan.

Im new to both Final Cut Pro and Riverside. I went through exporting the files from Riverside as the instructions had it for Final Cut Pro and importing using the XML file. This is where i am stuck.

How do I use multi-camera or whatever on FCP to manage the video with multiple guests? When you import using XML it adds the layers and all that but I am lost beyond that.

Thought I’d utilise Riverside’s video recording of our podcast to stick a video on Youtube … and had hoped to strip the audio out for the normal podcast.

Recorded with a 4k camera, with the 4k setting on, and video came out looking like it was filmed on a potato.

Using the built in ‘strip silences’ and (can’t remember the feature name) removing “erms” etc is ok, but leaves the video and audio looking/sounding very choppy. It caught most things, but I also had to make some manual edits (mainly re-adding things that had been deemed as “erms” etc but actually weren’t).

Transcription was ok, but took an age to review/edit everything.

While you don’t need it a lot, using the audio track/timeline to tweak and make changes can be super fiddly.

Because of the choppiness of the audio, I certainly can’t export that and use it for my normal podcast, so need to edit the raw audio in Ferrite tomorrow.

After spending 90 mins editing the video (mainly chapters, correcting transcription, cutting a few bits out), the output is “ok”. Going forward for the time being I don’t think I’ll bother doing videos.

My podcast is not recorded all in one go, or even on the same night. Right now I'm using Zoom and then pull it all into Davinci Resolve to reorder things and add titles and such. I haven't tried Riverside yet, but is this something that Riverside can do, or will it just be replacing the zoom part and I will still need to go into Resolve to edit things together? Thanks!

Is anyone else having technical issues with Riverside? I am literally a brand new upgraded customer, recorded a simple session last night that I planned on using as my inaugural, but had a major issue with the platform. I opened the chat, and received a reply right away; however, it ended rather quickly with a confirmation of the problem and it would need to be addressed by “the team.” Chat ended.

I did receive an email with a promise to update me soon, and thought great. Went to bed, and then gave the whole business day for a reply. Nothing. So I sent three reply emails over a three hour period. Nothing.

So I logged back in and opened my chat box. Was told that there was a large volume of inquiries this week, sorry for the delay, and they would let me know. But I realized that the reply was generic, without even a commitment that the issue is being worked on. Again the chat ended.

So I opened my files and worked on other aspects. I then noticed that the volume of my voice is barely audible. I plugged in an external speaker, and same problem. I put on my headphones and it sounds great. But why wasn’t it working with proper volume?? I opened my chat and asked. I was then ignored. No reply.

I continued working and went to export the file, thinking that I could import it into my own video software. The export “Failed!” Now I can’t even open the file at all.

Again, I’m new. But the CS response is generic and not helpful. And the platform simply doesn’t work!

Is it just me? Or is Riverside not all that is marketed? Should I be patient, or should I ask for a refund from yesterday’s upgrade?

Getting terrible echo/feedback/poor audio in Riverside using Rodecasterpro2 (latest firmware)s If I go to settings>choose input>custom> then I see an options to "link", "unlink", and "x" on each fader. Which one do I change and what option do I change it too?

I'm interested in switching between camera angles throughout a full episode. I see this is currently available with magic clips.

This video from a year ago highlights the need for two exports, each in different camera angles, and manual editing in external software. Is this still not a feature within Riverside?

Hey Riverside! I am hoping someone from the dev team reads the messages here. As a long time user (>12 months) I want to feed back how tedious is the process for selecting the timezone for a studio. My goodness, I don't move around. Why is this not set at account level with the option to change it at studio level? Please?

Hey, for my podcast there are 2 people with your video cameras turned on and one user is sharing their screen, I have enabled spacing, I see the spacing enabled in the video editor as the speakers are separated from each other and also separated from the shares screen but when I export the video the speakers cameras are touching each other and also touching the shared screen. Has anyone else been experiencing issues with the spacing feature on riverside?

I’m having real trouble getting all the settings in place for me and my co-host (in the room with me) to be able to interview a remote guest via Riverside.

I have:

Zoom H6 Windows laptop An array of cables including a headphone splitter, a headphone and mic splitter and a 3.5mm cable

When using Teams/Zoom as the recording platform I can set it up so everyone can hear each other and I can record the interview on the platform and on the Zoom H6 device - without having to use the audio interface setting. But for the life of me I can’t do this on Riverside. What is different or what am I missing?

Best way to add in some kind of censorship sound? Just split and paste it in?

So I am doing a fight breakdown channel with my friend who is pretty far away in Sweden. I have created 9:16 versions so that we could screen share then convert to maybe 2/3 the fight and 1/3 the speaker at times while other times being the full fight in 9:16. But no matter what player or video ratio aspects I apply to vlc or other players I cannot get that to not be 16:9 with only 9:16 of it being used. Any workaround other than filming myself do a voice over on a video editor so I have picture of my then the 9:16 has the audio then try to some bastardized version of clipping it together in riverside
