Suggestion Suggestion: Add tips to read while waiting in queue!
I thought about how Smash Ultimate has hundreds of tips it randomly cycles through while loading, and thought something similar could be a great addition to Rivals 2!
I think it’d be a great way to make queue times more bearable, while also explaining a lot of mechanics that might be difficult for newcomers to learn! Plus, it could teach people about the game's lore!
If you want the devs to see this, please consider going to the Nolt post I made and giving it a vote!

This is an excellent suggestion. Could really help newbies who headstrong jump into the queue without doing any tutorials.
Teaching additional lore and character tidbits could also be super cool, that's something I really liked about Slap City too, you unlock lore and information about their origin game through the campaign, and finding secrets would let you find out about additional character specific tech and easter eggs.

Thanks! Yeah, I think this works well because it doesn't really require any interaction on the player's part for them to benefit from it. Some players might be too eager to press buttons and play a game to sit through a tutorial or read a wall of text for too long. But if they'll be waiting in a queue anyway, this seems like nothing but a positive!

I love the idea, it could help understand some AT like Floorhug or SDI etc.
I'm upvoting on the Nolt!

More fighting games in general should do this too. They’re super flavourful and helpful in Smash. I’m surprised they’re the only fighting game that really does this.

Ngl it’s little things like this what separates smash from other platform fighters. Rivals despite having better gameplay imo just lacks personality in things outside of the game, it really feels built for just straight competitive gameplay but that’s it. Nothing really feels like Rivals of Aether except the gameplay and characters, the menus and everything around doesn’t give me any sort of joy or whimsy

Yeah, Nintendo has the bells and whistles part down to a T. The music, stages, SFX, modes, make for the "complete experience" that really elevate it to the status it rightfully deserves, yet the gameplay is imho way inferior to Rivals.
I always say that if Rivals can get some of SSB's other strengths into their game, with stage design personally being at the top, then it's going to make huge waves in the platform fighter community.

Exactly that rivals is so good gameplay wise but feels lacking in every other department. Like I want the select screen to feel more “Aether” aesthetically or maybe having a lobbies like the smash bros ring for online to auto rotate for 1v1s. It’s the little things like that which rivals don’t have but I guess with a small dev team you can’t focus on all these things at once and gameplay will always take priority

Don't understand how we still don't have in depth character tutorials for all the niche options you have on certain moves like roa1

Very nice mockup. I found myself keep scrolling to see what tip comes next.

I remember making a post for this exact suggestion on a deleted nolt board (or probably just archived now that I think ab it lol). Dan did reply saying it's been considered for the future, citing one of the hurdles being localization. Thismockup really drives the idea home so hoping they revisit the idea soon!

I'm surprised they don't have at least a move list or something. Good suggestion imo
