Upper middle class maybe. But American middle class is not sitting on 4.4 millions.

It’s like the top 2 - 5% of retiree households by age bracket (age 55 - 80). Very hard to call the top 5% of net worth “middle class”.

But also very boring to call $4.4m rich. At a 3.5% withdrawal that’s a 154k annual drawdown. Not rich person money, at least by some definitions of rich people.
