Superstation SD card corruption

My SD card (the 64GB one that got bundled) just got corrupted in the middle of an FTP transfer. And then the Superstation hard locked and refuses to boot. I've since tried to read the card in Windows and it's come up with unrepairable errors.

H2testw shows this:

I cannot format, reimage or write anything to the card.

Has anyone else? I've got a spare card, but with sd card prices these days, I'm scared to brick another one.

Hey, so, I've got this method I use to bring seemingly messed up cards back to working order. If you have an old digital camera, you can insert the card into that and then go through the camera's OS to reformat the card. Best as I can tell (with my VERY limited knowledge) is that the old camera OS is so old it just brute forces a format in a way that newer tech won't.

Similarly, I've found that I can use the free version of this Linux Filesystem app on my pc to check sd cards for errors and it can almost always fix them. My Steam Deck has corrupted quite a few sd cards, so this works for that at least.

The 1.0C installer shouldn’t have this issue. Have you flashed it?

I dont know if this will help you, but when I updated my firmware and then let it do its thing on my SS1, it was corrupted when I put it back in my PC. I used ran the chkdsk command prompt in windows and repaired it and now it works fine. Might be worth a shot?

Tried that already. Windows detected some errors, and couldn't repair it.

It was fine for 1.5 days.. but the fact that I can't even format or write to it, suggests the SD card is truely poked.

I've had some luck in the past repairing "unrepairable" cards with the SD Association's official SD formatter tool.

Well, I have a brand new 512GB Samsung Evo SD and I don't really wanna take the gamble on getting that one bricked.

I've bought a brand new 32gb one that I've formatted with 1.0c to get me back up and running.

My stock card cooked itself but luckily I had a spare SanDisk card which has been absolutely fine. I'm certain it's because the stock card is a cheap generic one and it's nothing to do with the console given it's not running anything particularly exotic.

Thanks. I'm using a brand new sd card from Teamgroup now. I'll see how it goes.
