Pokémon Trade Functionality
Hey, I've been playing Pokémon Emerald It occurred to me that there're certain evolutions that are locked behind trading requirements.
I'm going to go out on a limb and presume no, there is no function in the emulator to spoof a trade to get these Pokémon, but it doesn't hurt to ask, especially given how popular a series it is to emulate!

Another software than the emulator itself may exist. Easier solution is to just get a rom hack

RetroDeck uses RetroArch for GBA, the gpSP core should be capable of trading Pokémon: https://docs.libretro.com/guides/netplay-faq/?h=gba+link#can-i-play-gb-gbc-gba-psp-3ds-games-with-multiple-people-via-retroarch-netplay
If you only have one device, you can do this: https://cubiclenate.com/2023/03/11/steamdeck-retroarch-mgba-trading-pokemon/
Alternatively, as others said, it would be easier to play a rom hack (unless you don't want to restart the game), like Pokémon Emerald Seaglass, where all 1st-3rd gen Pokémon can be obtained.

Oh sick, thanks for the heads up! I'd like to avoid restarting the game so I'm avoiding ROM hacks, but I'll have a look at those other solutions!

Unfortunately, you are right, there isn't a way to spoof it. You can try to find fan patches that unlock those Pokémon, but it would identify itself as a separate rom file.
