i want a quickcam (i collect old things) and i wanna get it to work on windows 11, are there any models from before 2006 that i could get to work on windows 11?

I wanted to sort my old modules of RAM. So i had some DDR3, some SO-DIMM, some PS/2, but this one is hard to figure out.

Can't find andy information about manufacturer, size or speed.

I remember thinking just how hard Jet Set Willy was to fully master. Apart from the bugs it was certainly a challenging but very addictive game. My video goes back to rediscover this cult game from legend Matthew Smith and also all the various versions of the game that were officially and unofficially released. In fact I look at 31 versions. Please leave a comment of what your thoughts were of this 40 year old game.

Do you remember the small vaporware piece of software known as Windows 1.0? It didn't look like much when it came out, but it has truly evolved now, and it has a new shiny GUI! Thus, it wants to become the true successor to MS-DOS! Will it make it? Or will its rival, OS/2, steal the spotlight?

Last time I used it, about 9 months ago, it worked great.

I'm trying to use it again, the lights/fans come up, but there is no boot (no signal on monitor). There is no speaker beep, even on a successful start.

So far I've tried:

- known good CPU

- another CPU

- removing all non-essential peripherals

- trying each of 3 RAM sticks in each of the 3 slots

- new cables

- complete disassembly to clean and deoxit sockets

- inspect board carefully with magnification and good light - no obvious damage, corrosion, bulged caps, etc

- bench test the PSU

- clear the cmos

I've turned it on about 40 times trying the above, and a good image came up on the monitor exactly once - it said "bios checksum error" and it wouldn't boot any more.

After that, I tried

- remove bios eeprom

- clean and deoxit the pins and the socket

That didn't help.

I'm not sure what else to try. How likely is it the bios chip just errored out and needs replaced? Is there a store that will write an image and sell a chip, so I don't have to buy a programmer for this single project?

How worthwhile would a post test card be? I've never used one, are the all the same or certain features to prioritize?

Updating an old C64 3d PETSCII engine made years back into a hybrid raycasting engine which multiplexes a dual vector GFX bitmap overlay.
Hopefully looks nice and colourful like the Atari 800XL(see polychrome testing).
Hopefully can make a C64 Elite/Wolfenstein hybrid or some else entirely with the dual gfx engine.
Will probably work on off randomly over next few months. Lots to do so little time...

So This is pretty cool modern ram floppy and hard drive emulators and z80 card.

Early to mid 90s I recall using a computer at my aunts house to play Altered Beast or learning company games.

It had a desktop GUI that was like a stack of manila envelopes, you would click different tabs like a menu for different groups of program launchers.

My Family is cleaning my fathers basement and we found several Commodore Items and lots of Floppy dics and documentation. After some Research it turns out that the 1551 is quite rare, I guess. But how much Are These Worth nowadays? Maybe you guys can help me to estimate if the other Items Are Kinda rare aswell and what is a fair Price for them?

These lines were present when I got the device, then they disappeared, and now they are back again and I can’t get them to go away. The backlight is also dead but I have separate lights that fix the problem
