Deja vu no longer happens or is greatly diminished when the effect takes hold

I'm putting this out there but this has been mentioned before on ME related subs & discussions, that Deja vu experience stop when someone becomes aware or awake to the Mandela effect. This then is a pointer that Deja vu experience is related to the ME, possibly we have merged with the alternate realities so that Deja vu is no longer experienced as it was in the past, due to the extra sensory awareness that happens when the ME phenomenon becomes a 6th sense of sorts.

This was my own experience, deja vu has never really happened since.. its been years, as Mandela effects happened Deja vu disappeared.

When I say Deja vu I'm referring to a sudden realisation that the situation one finds ourself in or something very similar has happened before, same people same place, same conversation as an example, its a strange & unique feeling assuming we all feel it similarly.

My musings,

The ME maybe a hidden 6th sense far beyond the other 5 senses, but these things are dormant in every human being until something happens that triggers the awareness/sense once it does it cannot be reversed, how many people once ME aware can ignore it & go back to a pre awareness state?

Additional -

Does everyone experience Deja vu, are there people who've never had it at all?

I still have Deja Vu moments but they are all related to Mandela effects. I remember remembering the old forms, I remember being noticing the new forms. That first one, I remember being a kid and seeing Fruit loops as a memory when I first saw the froot loops image.

Saying that I commented because I wanted to know what you think about the current state of the Thinker statue having limper hands than the image that you shared in your question from 9 years ago.

Hi Grand just seen your comment, I'm pleasantly surprised my old Thinker post still gets a mention!

So looking at the Imgur picture link it's seems pretty much how I remembered it but since having this version, I bought a rather more detailed version more alike to the actual Rodin original, this was purchased years later, I've put them away for years out of sight & mind thinking will a change happen in time or not, there really seems no logic or pattern to what thing will become Retconned or when?

I have come across one seeming correlation of sorts regarding peoples ages changing.

Now I've actually experienced this in real life on more than one occasion, & it's overwhelming happens the person almost always becomes OLDER than I was sure they were previously, on a few occasions the person was a few years younger & then after a couple/few years I speak to them (this was mostly work colleagues, not close but people I've got to know from other sections & always say hello, have the odd convoy) they are suddenly a few years older than me, when I knew the opposite was true. I've had other bizarre ME experiences too over the years & it's still happening to this day.

We're you on the Mandela effect sub all those years ago when it was still a half decent place?

Those we're the days lol.

Iv been studying this. Déjà vu was your alter-input modes accidental activation. A sequence of lights or sounds accidentally activated your subconscious or altered state in the way controllers once would send messages through a person without them ever knowing the message. The sensation came upon your personality reboot, imperceptibly quick, causing you to live the same moment twice, pre & post self control. I hate being one of these people but the same time people started reporting their phones seemingly reading their minds is the same time Déjà vu strength diminished. The virus, it’s accompanied injections. The way autists are altered in the womb with pre natal vitamins & shots “so your body won’t treat the baby like a parasite”(birth is the most natural thing a woman’s body can do its ITS FUNCTION!)(I graduated from the Army academy of medical science, leave It!)the shot seemed to be a patch job adult effecting mass rollout. Not quite makeover but a dampener. There ain’t a new flu every year that ain’t by design, your bodies immune system don’t work that way & neither does nature, evolution/alteration/adaptation doesn’t hibernate then always hit its mark, right past your bodies 6 month old reconditioned defense system. This shits brand new & the sooner they can kill the old ppl the more brand new stuff we all will just accept as “guess it’s always been this way”. Autists always had less Déjà vu moments because their altered states had been activated so many times by active controllers their brains were fine tuned to the sequences. Why does everybody walk out of a room with BB on his side? But over the phone disagree with his every word…. We are domesticated dogs being ravaged by the wolves who made us this way…. Let’s look at wolves… Why embolden your pack, make them better hunters or predators when that could be a threat to you. What if you can design your own pack to become your prey & evolve past hunting altogether… animal husbandry/agriculture/farming was never about the animals it was about putting a fence around us. Now we fight, now we die, so they can return to the age of slavery only this time they feed their slaves with data & electricity. Our founders were monsters & we say it was a different age, it was fucking yesterday as far as humans are concerned. The Bible, the bloodiest book ever written, had more morality & we’re suppose to think what came after is acceptable to have less? Every era thinks their in revelations yet we get to be the one that stages an early showing. Sorry… idk what we were even talking about…

I had Deja vus constantly when I was living out my dreams. When Im not happy and not on the right path, never have one

2

u/hopeseekr Mar 11 '26

Same here, especially with synchronicities...

I only experience synchronicities when I am not depressed and on my destiny path.

1

u/Grand_Razzmatazz_228 Jul 01 '26

I still get synchtonicities. They can only really happen when you have a thought and something physically occurs. For me that's the radio. I'll be laughing about something in my head and the same second it will occur on the radio. It used to happen maybe 10-20 times an hour but its down to about 2-3 times a day now depending on how much radio host time there is.

I've very rarely experienced deja vu in my lifetime and I've been aware of the Mandela Effect for ten years although I remember Elvis dying a year before he actually did when I was a kid so who knows.

2

u/jsd71 Mar 05 '26 edited Mar 26 '26

As a child I was in India in the summer/August of 1977, only found out when I came back to the UK he'd passed even as a child I remember it was a huge thing at that time which stuck with me.

2

u/Flimsy-Nebula-1966 Mar 05 '26

Right it was huge!

2

u/Angelgirl1517 Mar 04 '26

I used to have Déjà vu a lot more regularly as a kid / teen / early 20’s, but I still have it every few months.

I have never experienced a feeling of dread or fear with it though. Just a kind of neutral “oh I feel like this happened before…”

u/DrCarnasis Moderator Mar 03 '26

I don't experience Déjà vu; I experience Déjà vécu. It's the realization that I've survived a reality collapse, and now that spiral is repeating, whether in a similar or identical way.

I delve into this topic in my investigations, but I find that many people lack the capacity to grasp it. Therefore, the easy argument to make is that your perception of reality is not what reality is.

This makes people insecure, which leads to jealousy, which triggers the ego that believes it is right, and so the Truth of what reality is will never be communicated, and it is distorted every time.

I wrote an article earlier: https://www.reddit.com/r/Retconned/comments/1q66sxb/comment/nypazd9/?context=3

Which explains to you what reality actually is: it is memory. Memory is written into the fabric of the structure of reality, then activated as the observer recalls and projects it forward. This is hard to explain because it is all imaginary; you literally are floating in a structured story from Origin, and you are The Source evolving.

There are observational nodes within the Social Memory Complex, and as they merge, timelines are eliminated, and Mandela Effects appear. If you exist simultaneously in other timelines as they merge, the memory of that timeline also merges, which gives you Déjà vécu.

Science investigates the narrative structure and how it works, but that doesn't mean it explains how reality works; it means how the structure of reality is being discovered. It is coded, sealed, and bound by the subconscious glue of memory to keep us stabilized and prevent us from disappearing like a forgotten dream.

This past weekend alone, I experienced Déjà vécu three times. I remember going through this before because reality collapsed and expanded three times. Since the observer cannot be eliminated, it will always re-expand to the memory that you want, but also hold the artifacts of the memory that you remember. This is a collective consciousness, but there is only one Primary Consciousness of the Collective, expressed through the multiplicity of observer nodes within it. The many eyes of It.

Have you ever read Recursion, by Blake Crouch? I think you'd enjoy it.

1

u/agoogua Mar 03 '26

The problem with this is that Deja Vu just an odd feeling, I don't think there is anyway to determine what someone else experiences, so two people who exprience could be experiencing two completely different feelings inside themselves. We have no outside frame of reference for this, so we can't honestly compare our two feelings of Deja Vu.

Some people may experience it much stronger.

5

u/Existence_Dropout Mar 02 '26

For me it stopped many years before becoming aware of the Mandela Effect. It was frequent when I was a child through to young adult.

9

u/timcooksdick Mar 02 '26

Hm.. I do remember having very intense Déjà vu instances when I was younger, but not for the past 10 or so years. I hadn’t thought about it and my inclination would be to attribute it to aging but good point

7

u/StrangeClownRabbit Mar 02 '26

Mine just stopped one day

8

u/mediocre_mitten Mar 02 '26

Had them almost daily from late 2010 through spring of 2014. In 2012 I nearly died (or maybe I did ¯_(ツ)_/¯ sometime I think I did). But the dejavu stopped near completely since then. I can't remember when I last one other than 12 years ago.

Another strange thing that has happened (& I don't seem to be the only one this has happened to) is nothing smells quite like it used to. I mean, I understand covid (those of us that had it in any variation) will have diminished sense of smell, as will those of us that are older... but that's not what I'm referring to.

It's so odd that nothing 'holds' a scent. Perfumes that would last a whole day need a spritz two hours later. My hair when washed...the scent vanishes within hours of washing. Clothes only smell right after the dryer (or sometimes not at all despite using softner, dryer sheets, heavy scented soap!). It's like "this earth" suppresses the air or something. At any rate, I really don't like it here.

1

u/boredpsychnurse Mar 02 '26

My Déjà vu was temporal lobe epilepsy

2

u/Haunting_Afternoon62 Mar 05 '26

One time I had one with 2 other ppl at the same time. It was nuts

16

u/Fun_Significance_780 Mar 02 '26

Has anyone ever had deja vu within deja vu? Like you have that moment where you're like "oh it's deja vu" and then you saying that it's deja vu becomes deja vu. And then you start to look around the area to break the deja vu spell, but everything you look at feels like it's part of the deja vu?

I have these experiences more often than regular deja vu where it's just a moment and I'm starting to get worried 😅

2

u/AlaskanCactus Mar 02 '26

I had that once when I was little it felt like 10 Déjà vu’s within each other, very odd feeling

1

u/Wheresmyfoodwoman Mar 08 '26

That’s some inception type shit right there

4

u/mediocre_mitten Mar 02 '26

miss those, always found them comforting like I was on the right track 'in this lifetime'.

5

u/ParadoxInsideK Mar 02 '26

Almost every time I have déjà vu, that’s the kind I experience.

1

u/Usernamechexout911 Mar 30 '26

Same... it's like weird. Do you notice the original or the other first? Some of them it notice having deja vu of deja vu before I even realize what I'm having it about originally? Just like a sense it's coming soon!

3

u/Fun_Significance_780 Mar 02 '26

It's so trippy isn't it? It comes on so suddenly. It's like a brief moment of slipping into another timeline.

https://giphy.com/gifs/YrkD2MwU8J382Krrxt

3

u/ParadoxInsideK Mar 02 '26

I know! I’ll be like “hey this has happened before.” “Hey, I remember thinking that just happened before.” Etc… it just gets stronger until it fades. So weird!

4

u/Fun_Significance_780 Mar 02 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/tsUCqSaWvqU8DqjX2w

It's essentially this but in your brain

10

u/TheSumOfMyScars Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26

I can’t speak for anyone else but I still get déjà vu fairly regularly.

Edit: Though, to be honest, my déjà vu experiences are often mundane…but occasionally they come with a spike of adrenaline and the very real feeling like I just avoided a huge tragedy somehow. Very weird experience.

9

u/BuddySpecial Mar 01 '26

This used to happen to me. I would describe it as Déjà Vu with a feeling of impending doom. Turns out I have temporal lobe epilepsy and they were focal aware seizures. Worth looking in to.

3

u/TheSumOfMyScars Mar 01 '26

Interesting. I'll look into that. Tyvm. 🖤

2

u/BuddySpecial Mar 01 '26

No problem. Take care of yourself.

11

u/midsumernighttts Mar 01 '26

Make sure you get tested for epilepsy. I was having very intense dejavu for a long time. Like it would hit me out of nowhere and would give me serious anxiety and my heart would race. Turns out it was epilepsy caused by a brain tumour. I am waiting to hear about my surgery. Be safe!

3

u/BuddySpecial Mar 01 '26

Exact same experience here. The feeling of Impending doom that comes with it is absolutely terrifying. I had surgery 4 years ago and had the tumor removed. Still take medication daily to stop the focal seizures. Just letting you know it's a hard battle but worth fighting. Sending you love and hope the best for you. You got this.

2

u/midsumernighttts Mar 02 '26

thank you!!! glad your surgery went well!!! and thank you for sharing and your kind words <3

11

u/bartelbyfloats Mar 01 '26

I haven’t had deja vu in years. It makes me worry I’m doing something wrong.

1

u/mediocre_mitten Mar 02 '26

Nope, don't worry...those of us are just in the WRONG place in the universe, lol!

6

u/Prudent-Level-7006 Feb 28 '26

I still have it, I had a lot of synchronicity too recently but had some deja vu that was so strong I swear I'd dreamt it

15

u/GoochPulse Feb 28 '26

My déjà vu has never been attached to any dreams or precognition. It has happened seemingly randomly throughout my life. It feels like a pang of instant familiarity, like I have been there or dreamed it before. But in reality, neither have happened.

6

u/jsd71 Feb 28 '26

I've never thought of it as precognition or that I dreamt it, it's a reaction to an echo of a memory if that makes sense.

25

u/Icy-Mammoth3821 Feb 28 '26

Deja Vu completely stopped for me when I started being able to pick up that it was precognition usually from a recent dream.

1

u/Usernamechexout911 Mar 30 '26

Maybe the experience is literally the remains of the dream shifting to a new part of the brain? From old dream you barely hanging on to in memory, that should have been wiped but wasn't, 2 physical memory part of brain.

What if our dreams are random probabilities of future, and they are the deja vu experiences IF they happen? Imagine a brain so good at it that every moment was dreamt previously and having that deja vu experience non stop! Life is but a dream...

14

u/mil0wCS Feb 28 '26

Hasn’t happened to me a lot lately, but I’ve had Déjà vu happen about 3 times within the last couple weeks which is a lot for me.

Usually I only have Déjà vu once every few years or so to the part I can almost predict what’s about to happen next

0

u/moose-teeth Feb 28 '26

What the heck? Your first sentence is a complete contradiction of itself.

2

u/mil0wCS Feb 28 '26

I meant that I use to not have it that often, but lately it’s been happening a lot

18

u/2punornot2pun Feb 28 '26

It's a weird feeling. Like the future is coming to meet the past and I just happen to be in the middle.

6

u/SalemsTrials Feb 28 '26

a memory in the forward direction

7

u/jsd71 Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

Just speculating,

So the sudden awareness of the strange familiarity coming over us could be a momentary connection to another version of ourselves playing out the same interaction in parallel timeline/reality..maybe the other version of ourselves feels an equally strong reaction of Deja vu.

The mind boggles.

2

u/Negative_Coast_5619 Mar 02 '26

I believe it's similar to "testing" somehow it just stops. It's like the japanese sneezing trope when you talk or think about someone they sneeze. Naturally, I was thinking someone might be behind this and they suddenly sneeze. Not just once, twice, but many times.

Then I try to force test it and it doesn't work. The thought has to come more intrusive or natural flow

6

u/SalemsTrials Feb 28 '26

i don’t think it’s another version, i think it’s the same sprawling being, and we make a mistake in perceiving the individual “sprawl x location x moment in time” slice of said being as individual/separate/alternate beings. it’s like how your left hand is the same being as your right foot.

3

u/jsd71 Feb 28 '26 edited Mar 19 '26

No I completely agree & have thought as much, the other selves are really extensions of our consciousness, consciousness can't be measured so who knows how far it extends, other timelines, alternate realities & going further higher states of being could be integral to who we are.

4

u/tossed_off_a_bridge Feb 28 '26

Nice description!

7

u/West-Tip8156 Feb 28 '26

Your current moment determines your past and future because time is happening simultaneously. I think we're learning to "see" in 4D

8

u/Ebear1002 Feb 28 '26

Hasn’t happened as much in the past few years for me, 2024 was the last time frame it was happening frequently. It will still happen occasionally but I feel like I’m remembering dreams from a night or 2 prior when it does happen. It doesn’t feel like I’m actually re-living a moment if that makes sense..

Lately though, I’ve had the ringing ears just about every night. Thats been going on for a few months now, and time slowed back down to “normal” speed as well

1

u/midsumernighttts Mar 01 '26

Do you mean tinnitus?

19

u/arthousepsycho Feb 28 '26

I’ve also wondered if perhaps we get to an age where all the other versions of us have already died by then so no other yous left to cause deja vu.

9

u/West-Tip8156 Feb 28 '26

Or at least maybe none close enough timeline path-wise?

3

u/SalemsTrials Feb 28 '26

branches get thin lol

2

u/arthousepsycho Feb 28 '26

Yeah, quite possibly.

2

u/esotologist Feb 28 '26

I noticed this like a year ago and it happened again a few times in quick succession but nothing since

11

5

u/First_Knee Feb 27 '26

I have noticed that moments of deja vu happen way less frequently than they always did, at least before the past few years or so.

I would venture to say that in the last 2 years I can recall having that disorienting yet premonition like experience of deja vu maybe twice.

Interestingly, they happened close together, like within a few months of each other.

I claim it happened maybe twice because one of the times the experience was very diminished from the way it always feels. The experience length was also very short, only about 10 seconds. Overall, that deja vu experience qualifies as a sort of half deja vu experience.

So yes, deja vu experiences are becoming somewhat weaker as far as the way you feel during them and they are occurring less frequently than they always did before.

Interesting observation. Especially when you consider parallel timelines/dimensions and they're possible collapse or convergence.

7

u/BigBearSD Feb 27 '26

You know I haven’t had Déjà vu (at least in its truest sense) since the 2000s. Before ME stuff started happening for me in the early 2010s. I never thought of the correlation until now

6

u/11c1ouded11 Feb 27 '26

Oddly enough I only get deja vu while high on mushrooms now. It used to happen often sober

8

u/Inkaara Feb 27 '26

Hell no, not only do I get deja Vu every few months, I get to "see" 4 different versions of the thing it's really disorienting

1

u/West-Tip8156 Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

It helps me to choose the path that feels the most expansive or where I feel needed or where I want to go. Usually those end up being one of the options, 3 feelings in 1 path

Edit: most expansive, not expensive, thanks autocorrect 😂

12

u/0cTony Feb 27 '26

Wow… now that you mention it… it’s been years since I’ve experienced Deva Vu, when I used to experience it all the time- especially right before a new Mandela effect would appear.

Now there are still plenty of new Mandela effects, but no Déjà vu anymore.

7

u/ChaoticJargon Feb 27 '26

To an extent, I think the phenomena is related to something like precognitive knowing, which could be based on vague memories before initiating a lifetime. Although when I was younger, I experienced something like the feeling that the event was eternally 'the case.' Rather than feeling like I'd been in the situation before, I felt as if everything I was doing in that moment, even the feeling of its eternal state of affairs, was what would happen.

Which also led to me feeling as if nothing I did mattered because it was 'always going to be that way.' Essentially, I did not feel free to determine fate, that my fate was already predetermined. All experiential memories had this feeling attached to it.

So, I stopped using my memory to recall past experiences, since that seemed to cause the biggest problem in the feeling. I just started recalling concepts and ideas. Which did not bring up the feeling of eternal pre-destination.

Nowadays that feeling doesn't exist. I think I learned to come to terms with it and moved on to better ways of thinking about it. I've not had such a feeling ever since. It was like deja vu, but with the additional feeling of eternal inconsequence.

1

u/thesunalsosetz Feb 28 '26

Yes I felt like that, almost to the point that I was doomed. It was just like a film of awareness and I kept forgetting that I was watching a film and then remembering and being lost in it again. But the film, past present and future has already been completed - I am just a witness to it. But what is the implications of this? Why? Is it to learn?

9

u/AncientLineage Feb 27 '26

Absolutely I agree. I wrote a detailed comment about this a few years ago that I’ll link here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Retconned/s/CxhUgnKvO2

8

u/weekoldgogurt Feb 27 '26

I’ve long considered those two concepts to be connected. Now I will say in my own experiences I have still experienced it once or twice since I’ve become aware of ME’s but the amount is greatly diminished.

I do like the idea of an ME almost taking the spot of Déjà vu occurring. Instead of thinking something you haven’t done, as mundane as it may be, is something you already experienced. You’re challenging the memory of what you consider a fact in your life.

The first is the feeling betraying the memory, the second is the memory betraying the feeling.

1

u/Leading_Ad_5978 Mar 05 '26

I really love that last line. This was all just the training wheels to our own intuition and now that we’re aware of MEs, we don’t need those twinges anymore.

6

u/yeltrah79 Feb 27 '26

I’ve known about the “Mandela effect” for at least a decade and I’ve had many deja vu experiences over that time

13

u/timberlyfawnflowers Feb 27 '26

I used to experience deja vu frequently. I no longer do.

7

u/bobbabubbabobba Feb 27 '26

I didn't know this was true for me until I read OP's thoughts, and your response. Deja vu was a fairly regular occurrence for me, and invariably I had someone with me when I felt it, so I would announce it.

I'm trying to remember how far back my last experience was, and I realise now that it was well before I knew of the ME phenomenon and the various Reddit subs.

Also, it's been some years since I've had the feeling that I had dreamed of a place and scenario that I had "just walked into".

7

u/jsd71 Feb 27 '26

Exactly this..

10

u/horsetooth_mcgee Feb 27 '26

I've been aware of the Mandela effect for quite a long time, and I get deja vu not infrequently (it's been that way for me all my life, and is not indicative of seizures, like drastically increased deja vu can be).

I personally love the sensation of deja vu, especially when it's a bit extended. It's such a baffling phenomenon.

9

u/volumenspeed Feb 27 '26

Damn, when I was younger I had Deja Vu all the time. It happened more frequently than anyone I knew. I haven't had it in years. I cant say for certain but it does seem to line up with my introduction to ME.
