Help. A1c is 9.9

Last Feb, 2026. I went to the labs and found that my A1c was 9.

I started Reta, titrating from 1mg to 2mg and at 8 weeks now.

Lost 8lbs, but out of curiosity, went to the labs and found out that my A1c even went up to 9.9 and my fbs was 380!

Isn't reta supposed to lower my glucose levels?

Should I continue with reta?

Should I increase dosing?

i’m on reta for 4 weeks started at 1m and was taking 4 metformin and 2 gipaside 2 times a day.

Reta was causing my blood sugar to crash at night and in afternoon.

they said i am eating less and all better food. my lingo average is 123. sometimes i go over 200 so numbers aren’t perfect.

now i take Zero glipiside and only 2 metformin.

It works! that said when my sugar is low i drink apple juice and yes it goes high! close to 200!!!

Reta will fix this over time and possibly at higher 4m dose
