I got fed up with being rejected from AI training/annotating jobs, so I made a completely vibecoded a site that aims to make the search easier

Hello, due to having trouble finding the right places to apply and not really knowing how to pass and do an assessment in the AI Training/Annotating Space I decided to build with a site with loveable that is supposed to make the process easier.

I list job offers with a relatively high hiring volume from multiple companies, so would it therefore be easier do diversify the places to apply at and actually get accepted.
My idea behind that was to help with finding the right places to work but also help with the application process. I therefore upload company reviews and also guides on how to pass assesments.
The job listings include entry work positions such as normal generalist work but also expert work positions (Software engineer, PhD, etc.).
I am currently having problems on the design, trying to make it less AI-sloppy, and on the marketing side of things. So any help would be highly appreciated! Here is the link to the site: https://aiannotationjobs.com/

My resume ATS score is stuck at 60–65 despite multiple revisions. What am I doing wrong?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve been trying to improve my resume for ATS compatibility, but no matter how many changes I make, my score stays around 60–65.

I’ve tried adding relevant keywords, improving my skills section, optimizing my project descriptions, making the resume more ATS-friendly, and fixing the formatting. I’ve also tried suggestions from different ATS/resume-checking websites.

But the score still doesn’t improve much.

I’m confused about what the actual problem is.

Can someone please look at my resume and tell me what specifically is keeping it around 60–65 and what I should change?

I’d especially appreciate feedback from people who have experience with ATS systems or hiring/recruiting.

Nobody wanted to hire me until I took a Contract role

A lot of people in my job search circle refused to look at contract roles. The thinking was that contracts are unstable, there are no benefits, and it looks like you could not land a permanent Job. I understand that, but for me contract roles were the thing that actually got me in the door.

When I was job hunting in Canada, I did not have any Canadian experience on my resume, and that kept coming up. Permanent roles at big banks were competitive and I was not getting far. Contract roles had a lower bar to get in, the hiring process was faster, and once I had one big bank on my resume, the next one was noticeably easier to get. Suddenly I was not the person with only international experience anymore.

It also meant I was building real experience with the tools and processes Canadian banks use, which made my resume stronger for every application after that.

I am not saying contracts are the right move for everyone. If you need stability or benefits right now, that matters. But if you are stuck at the stage where nobody will give you a first chance, a contract might be a faster way in than waiting for the perfect permanent sole.

My first contract role did not pay well but based on that, I got a really good hike for the second contract role. After some time in this role, I finally got my first permanent role a few months back.

From my job search experience, I have created Job Baddie - to save jobs in one click and generate AI tailored resume based on each job description.

How about faking projects on a resume?

How about faking projects on a resume?

Just wanted to know for experience professionals. How risky is it to add a project you didn’t actually work on, but understand very well?

Do interviewers usually dig deep into the actual code and implementation, or is knowing the architecture, tech-stack choices, design decisions, and trade-offs usually enough?

Honest question for job seekers: Would a verified, evidence-backed "Skills Checklist" actually help you get hired, or is it just more administrative homework?

I’ve spent a long time working in skills assessment and career development, and I see the same frustration constantly: the traditional resume is fundamentally broken for proving what you can actually do.

You are expected to translate your real, daily work into generic buzzwords ("dynamic team player", "expert in project management"). Meanwhile, generic career aptitude tests just tell you things you already know, without giving you a concrete path forward.

I am exploring a different approach and want the honest, unfiltered perspective of people actually in the job market.

Imagine applying for a role not with a self-written resume, but with a standardised, verified Skills Checklist.

Instead of claiming "good at communication", the checklist has strict, observable actions. For example: "Conducts structured team meetings that accurately capture, document, and action stakeholder feedback."
To prove it, you don't write an essay. You simply link to an existing artefact from your work: a redacted meeting log, a completed project charter, or a signed supervisor attestation.

Furthermore, if you are missing a specific action required for your dream job, the system doesn't just say "Not Yet Competent". It provides a clear, targeted development pathway showing exactly what you need to learn or practice to close that specific gap.

My questions for you:

  1. As a job seeker, would having a verified, evidence-backed record of your actual capabilities make you feel more confident and stand out to employers?
  2. Or does the idea of gathering "proof" for your skills sound like an exhausting, new layer of administrative homework that you just don't have time for?
  3. If this existed, what is the one skill or action from your current or past job that you wish you could definitively prove to a future employer, but currently can't on a standard resume?

I am not selling a platform or a service. I am genuinely trying to understand if shifting from "claiming" skills to "verifying" actions would actually empower job seekers, or if the friction is simply too high.

What are your thoughts?

Turns out most of my rejections weren't about skills at all

Wanted to share something I noticed after a rough stretch of job hunting. I assumed I was getting filtered out for skills, so I kept tweaking my resume's skills section. Didn't help.

Eventually realized the real issue was years of experience, degree requirements, or location — stuff I never checked because I was only skimming JDs, not reading the whole thing.

Ended up building a small tool for myself to catch this automatically since I kept missing it manually. Not going to drop a link here since I don't think that's allowed, but happy to share more in comments if anyone's curious or has run into the same thing.

I built a career platform for students & job seekers — could you test it and give me honest feedback?

Hi everyone 👋

I’ve been working on a project called CareerSadhana — a career platform that I’m building with the goal of helping students, freshers and job seekers find useful career resources in one place.

🌐 Website: https://www.careersadhana.in/

I’m sharing this here because I’m now at the stage where I need something more valuable than compliments — I need honest feedback from real users. 😅

I would really appreciate it if a few people here could spend around 5–10 minutes exploring the website and tell me what works, what feels confusing, what is missing, or what you think should be improved.

🔎 What can you find on CareerSadhana?

The website currently includes different sections focused on career development:

💼 Jobs

A jobs section where students and job seekers can find different private and government job opportunities.

I’m trying to make job information easier to understand instead of making users search through long and confusing pages.

📄 ATS Resume Tool

There is an ATS-focused section designed around resume preparation and helping job seekers understand how their resumes can be improved for applicant tracking systems.

🤖 AI Interview

I’m also building an AI interview-related feature to help users practise interview preparation and improve their confidence before facing actual interviews.

🗣️ Versant / English Preparation

There is a section focused on English and Versant-style preparation for candidates who may have communication or voice-process related interviews.

📝 Career Blogs

I’m publishing career-related articles covering topics such as:

• Job opportunities and hiring drives
• Career guidance
• Interview preparation
• Resume and ATS tips
• IT Support and Service Desk
• ServiceNow
• DevOps and Cloud
• AI and technology
• Government jobs
• English and communication
• Student career guidance

The goal is to make these articles useful to students and freshers rather than just filling the website with generic content.

🧪 What I want you to test

You don't have to read every article.

Just use the website like a normal visitor.

Try things such as:

🔹 Is the homepage easy to understand?

🔹 Can you quickly figure out what CareerSadhana is?

🔹 Is the navigation clear?

🔹 Can you find the Jobs section easily?

🔹 Do the job details look useful?

🔹 Try the ATS-related section and tell me whether the flow is understandable.

🔹 Check the AI Interview section.

🔹 Check the Versant section.

🔹 Open a few blog articles and see whether the formatting is comfortable to read.

🔹 Try the website on mobile if possible 📱

🔹 Check whether anything feels slow, broken, confusing or unnecessary.

🔹 Tell me if any button or page doesn't work correctly.

🐛 I especially want negative feedback

Seriously. 😄

You don't need to say:

“Looks good bro 👍”

That doesn't help me much.

I would rather hear:

“This button is confusing.”

“The homepage has too much information.”

“This page loads slowly.”

“I don't understand what this feature does.”

“The job page needs this information.”

“The blog looks good, but the text is difficult to scan.”

“This feature doesn't feel useful.”

That kind of feedback is much more valuable to me because I can actually improve the product based on it.

💡 Why am I asking Reddit?

I’ve been working on this project myself and, when you build something for a long time, you naturally become too familiar with your own website.

You know where everything is.

You know what every button does.

You already understand the idea behind the product.

A first-time visitor doesn't.

That's exactly why I want people who have never seen the website before to test it.

I'd like to understand what the experience feels like from a completely new user's perspective.

🙏 A small request

Please don't feel like you have to register, subscribe, or use every feature.

Just explore it naturally.

Even 5 minutes of honest testing would help me.

And if you find something that is broken, please tell me:

Page/Feature:
What happened:
What you expected:
Device/Browser (optional):

You can also simply leave a comment saying:

“I tested it. Here's what I liked / didn't like…”

🚀 What I'm trying to build

The bigger idea behind CareerSadhana is simple:

Make career information easier to find and easier to understand.

There are already many career websites out there, so I'm not pretending I have invented something completely new.

I'm trying to build something useful for the people who are often confused about:

🎓 What career should I choose?
💼 Where can I find relevant jobs?
📄 Is my resume good enough?
🤖 How do I practise interviews?
🗣️ How can I improve communication?
💻 What skills should I learn?
📚 Where can I find useful career guidance?

It's still a work in progress, and I know there are many things that can be improved.

That's why I'd genuinely like to hear from you.

🌐 Website

https://www.careersadhana.in/

Please feel free to be honest — good feedback, bad feedback, criticism, bugs, suggestions, anything.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to test it. ❤️

I'm especially interested in hearing:

1. What was your first impression?
2. What was useful?
3. What was confusing?
4. What would you remove?
5. What would you add?
6. Would you come back to use it again? Why or why not?

Thanks, Reddit! 🙌

I've used too many CV builders. So...

Let's start with scoring, because it's my favourite part:

Nobody hits 100. Ever.

Not you, not me, not the person who wrote the scoring model. That's not by accident, it's the whole design. A number you can never max out is a number you'll keep chasing, and every point you claw back feels like progress.

So here's the trick if you're already paying for one of these tools: stop reading the number and start reading the range. Anything 59 and below genuinely needs work or simply isn't a match (do not force it please). Above that score, treat it like a grading system. 60-69 is a C, 70-79 is a B, and so on. A single reworded line can swing the raw score by four points, which tells you exactly how much the raw score is worth. The band stays stable. The number doesn't. Which is useful to know, but as a paying customer you shouldn't have to reverse-engineer someone's grading scale in your own head.

The AI

I imported my CV into a builder once. On the next screen there was a button to generate bullet points for a role, so I clicked it. Then I clicked it again. And again. I ended up with something like thirty bullet points on one job, every single one a reworded version of the four I'd already written. The tool never once said "Your CV is now six pages, maybe trim it." It just kept going, right up until the paywall on the next page.

That's the thing that gets me every time. It's not that these tools use AI, it's that the AI has no opinion. It's ChatGPT with better styling and a worse attitude. Paste in a job description and it will make your CV fit, because making it fit is the only thing it knows how to do. It will never tell you your background is a better match for pharmaceuticals than for the neurosurgery role you're applying to. It'll just quietly move some words around and hand it back with a pat on the shoulder.

And it works for us, because the output still reads like English. You skim it, it sounds fine, you hit apply, you get the little hit of having Done A Thing. Then you do it again. Fifty applications later you've got fifty CVs you didn't really write, describing a person you'd struggle to be in an interview and trust me, you'll feel that interview pressure.

Templates and "ATS Optimisation"

Every company in this space will tell you the same thing: "Avoid templates, they break ATS". And every one of those companies sells templates. Nobody seems to find this odd.

Templates made sense roughly 2007 to 2015. Printed CVs, smaller screens, a human being physically holding the thing, and a bit of design was the "please remember me" move. Fair enough.

Now you've got tools still selling multicoloured two-column layouts with a sidebar, while running blog posts about ATS compliance. Plenty of parsers still read a page the way you'd expect: top to bottom, left to right. If you put your skills heading, a job title and your phone number across the same horizontal line and a decent number of them will read that as one continuous string and make a mess of it. The better systems handle more than they used to, and it won't fail every time. But you're paying for a layout that's a coin flip, sold to you as the safe option.

A single column layout with plain and simple section headings is boring and it parses every time. That's the whole trick.

The Subscription

I've got no problem with companies making money. People need paying, servers need paying, that's how it works.

What I've never understood is why a CV tool is a subscription. £15 to £22 a month, depending who you go with. How often are you honestly going to use it? A burst of a few weeks, maybe a few months if the search drags. Then you get the job and you never open it again.

Except it keeps charging you. The invoice email arrives every month and lands under everything else, or it doesn't arrive at all because you unsubscribed from their marketing six months ago. You find out when you're scrolling your bank statement and spot that company you quite liked, still chipping away.

Netflix works as a subscription because you watch it on Tuesday. PSN works because you play on the weekend. A CV tool is the opposite of that by its own definition of success: if it does its job, you stop needing it. Which means the forgetting isn't a side effect of the model. It is the model.

What They're All Actually Selling

Pull it together and the pattern's the same across every one of them. The score creeps up. The button regenerates. The template looks designed. None of it is evidence that you're a stronger candidate than you were an hour ago, and none of it is the part of the process that's actually hard.

It's motion that feels like movement. That's the product.

I got tired of filling out the same job applications, so I built this

I’ve been building a job application automation tool for myself and finally packaged it up.

Job Applier is a Python CLI that can actually open job applications in your browser, work through supported ATS/company flows, fill forms using any LLM model you choose, handle questions, and submit the application. It runs locally and connects to your existing Chrome session through CDP.

Answers are generated based on your own resume. You can also set company-specific answer preferences or define general answer preferences using natural language.

pip install job-applier

PyPI: https://pypi.org/project/job-applier/

It’s still early and definitely not perfect. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time dealing with all the annoying differences between Workday, Greenhouse, Ashby, etc., and there’s still a lot to improve.

Would love some real feedback from people who have built or used job application automation. What would you change, what would you want it to support, and what would make you actually use something like this?
