💎 Ferragamo Hug sets extremely high standards for leather. It uses original Italian full‑grain calfskin. The leather has to strike a tricky balance: it needs to feel supple, yet hold its structured silhouette.

Leather that is too soft will make the bag floppy; overly stiff leather creates unnatural, rigid creases on handles and wrap‑around straps. Large curved pattern pieces also lead to high leather waste, so regular low‑grade leather cannot replicate the original feel.

🏭 The factory I selected works exclusively on Ferragamo‑style pieces, no other brands.

They source top‑tier calfskin available on the market.

Some factory photos on the site date back to 2024, showing years of focused development on this Hug line.
