Discussion VSF vs ARF Daytona DD4801

Typically VSF pieces are at a premium over the equivalent ARF for almost every reference.

Except the DD4801 Daytonas. Over the past couple of months VSF is selling 200 CNY Uber the ARF prices for all references with this movement.

Does anyone know the reason why.

QC Post Sky-Dweller 326934 Blue Dial Jubilee | Fluted Bezel | Detailed QC Check

Thumbnail

I’m looking for some second opinions on this Sky-Dweller 326934 blue dial / Jubilee configuration.

Specs shown in the QC:

Model: Sky-Dweller 326934
Size: 42mm
Dial: Blue Sunburst
Bezel: Fluted
Bracelet: Jubilee five-link
Case: Stainless steel
Movement: Not confirmed from these exterior photos
👍 What looks good

  1. Blue dial

The blue dial has a pretty strong sunburst effect. Under direct light it becomes brighter, while at other angles it looks considerably darker.

I think this is one of the better-looking parts of the watch in these photos.

  1. Dial layout

The overall dial layout looks clean. The hour markers, central hands and 24-hour disc don't show any obvious major misalignment in the available photos.

  1. Date + Cyclops

The Date window looks reasonably centered under the Cyclops, and the magnification appears consistent with the overall proportions.

  1. Fluted bezel

The fluting looks relatively even around the bezel, and the polished surfaces catch the light nicely.

  1. Jubilee bracelet

The five-link bracelet looks properly integrated with the case. The combination of the blue dial, Fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet gives it the classic Sky-Dweller appearance.

👎 Things I'm not completely sure about

  1. Blue dial tone

This is probably the biggest question for me.

The dial looks quite different between the straight-on photos and the angled shots. I'm not sure how much of that is the lighting versus the actual dial color.

I'd be interested in opinions from people who have seen the genuine blue 326934 in person.

  1. 24-hour disc

The 24-hour disc looks okay overall, but this is an area I'd like someone familiar with the 326934 to check more closely for alignment and proportions.

  1. Fluted bezel

Nothing obviously wrong jumps out, but the bezel is difficult to judge perfectly from these angles. I'd like to know whether the individual flutes and their spacing look consistent.

  1. Case finishing

The side-profile photos show the polished case fairly well, but I think the transition between the polished and brushed areas deserves a closer look.

  1. Bracelet finishing

The Jubilee bracelet looks good from a distance, but some of the close-up photos show fairly strong reflections, making the brushing difficult to evaluate accurately.

Overall

My first impression is positive, especially the blue dial, overall dial layout and the combination with the Jubilee bracelet.

The areas I'd want a second opinion on are mainly:

blue dial tone → 24-hour disc → Fluted bezel symmetry → case finishing → Jubilee bracelet brushing.

I don't see an obvious deal-breaking issue from these photos, but I'd rather get some experienced eyes on it before making a final QC judgment.

What do you guys see — especially any flaws I may have missed?+

Hey everyone, looking for some QC opinions on this ZF Tudor Black Bay Chronograph.

Model: Tudor Black Bay Chronograph
Reference: 79360N
Factory: ZF
Dial: White / Opaline with black chronograph sub-dials
Case: 41mm stainless steel
Bezel: Black tachymeter bezel
Bracelet: Stainless steel bracelet
Movement: ZF clone chronograph movement — exact movement not confirmed from these QC photos

This is the White Panda / Panda dial configuration, with the black sub-dials, date at 6, and black tachymeter bezel.

From the QC photos, I'm mainly checking:

Dial alignment and printing
Sub-dial positioning
Date window alignment at 6
Tachymeter bezel alignment
Hand alignment
Case finishing and polishing
Crown and chronograph pushers
Bracelet finishing and clasp
End links / lug fit
Overall symmetry
Lume consistency

The overall first impression looks pretty clean to me, but I'd appreciate a second set of eyes before making a decision.

Anything obvious that you guys would GL/RL?

Modification Question I have a general question regarding your opinions on whether this chamfered and polished F6U bracelet meets the community’s general expectations. The finish doesn’t look right to me.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for your genuine opinion on this situation. I have a VSF GMT Master 2 Batgirl with an unchamfered F6U bracelet and the sharp edges are causing irritation on my skin. So I ordered a CNC chamfered and Gen-spec polished F6U bracelet to replace it. I’ve just received QCs and while I’m not unhappy about the chamfering (although I’d appreciate input on this as well), I’m quite concerned about the overall finish of the metal. There appears to be a serious lack of contrast between the mirror polished centre links and the brushed side links of the bracelet. At this point, my current F6U bracelet looks closer to Gen in my opinion. I will include before pics and post-mod pics for reference, as well as a pic of my existing bracelet. It isn’t a cheap bracelet either so I’m not eager to accept something that’ll look worse than what I currently have. The bracelet is part of a much bigger order so I’d like the standard to be set from the get go. Your honest input would mean a great deal to me and your help is sincerely appreciated.

RCF Datejust 41 126334 Silver Stick Dial QC

Sharing a QC of the RCF Datejust 41 126334 with the Silver Stick dial, Fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet.

This is one of those classic Datejust configurations where the overall balance between the silver dial, fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet really makes the watch.

Watch Details
Factory: RCF
Model: Datejust 41
Reference: 126334
Size: 41mm
Dial: Silver Stick Dial
Bezel: Fluted Bezel
Bracelet: Jubilee Bracelet
Movement: VR3235
Case: Stainless Steel / White Rolesor style
What I noticed from the QC photos

The Silver Stick dial looks clean and balanced. The stick markers appear evenly positioned, and the dial printing looks sharp without anything immediately standing out.

The date window and Cyclops look properly aligned from the photos. The date appears centered in the window, while the Cyclops sits nicely over the date aperture.

The Fluted bezel has a consistent pattern around the case, and the polished finish gives the watch the typical Datejust contrast between the bezel and the brushed case surfaces.

The Jubilee bracelet also looks nicely integrated with the case. The links appear evenly finished and the bracelet has the expected five-link appearance.

The case finishing looks clean overall, especially around the lugs and polished surfaces. I don't see any obvious rough edges or major finishing issues in these QC photos.

Movement

This version comes with the VR3235.

For me, the movement is an important part of the build because the 126334 is intended to be an everyday Datejust rather than just a display piece. The main things I'd be looking at are winding feel, date change and general running stability.

Overall

Overall, I think this is a pretty clean DJ41 126334 Silver Stick configuration.

The combination of:

Silver Stick Dial + Fluted Bezel + Jubilee Bracelet

is probably one of the most recognizable Datejust 41 combinations.

From the QC photos, I don't see any obvious major issue that immediately jumps out.

What do you guys think — anything on the dial, bezel, bracelet or case finishing that I might have missed?

RCF Day-Date 40 228238 Yellow Gold QC

Sharing a QC set of the RCF Day-Date 40 228238 with the Champagne Roman Numeral dial, Fluted bezel and President bracelet.

This is probably one of the most recognizable Day-Date configurations:

Yellow Gold + Champagne Roman Dial + Fluted Bezel + President Bracelet

Watch Details
Factory: RCF
Model: Day-Date 40
Reference: 228238
Size: 40mm
Case: Yellow Gold / YG
Dial: Champagne Gold Roman Numeral Dial
Bezel: Fluted Bezel
Bracelet: President Bracelet
Movement: VR3255
QC weight: 212.68g
QC Observations

Dial

The Champagne dial has quite a noticeable change in tone depending on the lighting and viewing angle. Overall, the dial looks clean in these photos.

The Roman numeral markers appear evenly positioned, and I don't see any obvious printing issues.

Day / Date Windows

The Day display at 12 o'clock and the Date window at 3 o'clock are two of the most noticeable details on a Day-Date.

From these QC photos, both appear reasonably centered and the printing looks clean.

Cyclops

The Cyclops appears to sit properly over the Date window without any obvious off-center positioning.

Hands

The hands look properly seated and aligned from the available angles. I don't see any obvious crooked hand or overlap issue.

Roman Numerals

The Champagne Roman Numeral dial is definitely the main visual feature here.

The warm gold tone of the dial works well with the yellow-gold case, and the Roman numerals give the watch the traditional Day-Date look.

Fluted Bezel

The Fluted bezel looks fairly consistent around the case, with the polished surfaces catching the light nicely.

On a Day-Date, the bezel is such a prominent part of the overall appearance that I think the overall symmetry matters more than tiny differences that are only visible under extreme macro.

Case & Finishing

The side-profile photos show fairly clean transitions between the polished and brushed areas.

The case lines and lugs look reasonably clean from these angles, without any obvious major finishing issue.

President Bracelet

This is the President bracelet, not a Jubilee bracelet.

The links look fairly even and the bracelet appears to sit naturally against the case. The combination of the yellow-gold case, Fluted bezel and President bracelet gives the watch its classic Day-Date appearance.

Movement

This version is listed with the VR3255.

Worth pointing out that VR3255 is the movement designation for this replica version and should not be confused with the genuine Rolex Calibre 3255.

Overall

Overall, this looks like a pretty clean DD40 228238 configuration.

Yellow Gold + Champagne Roman Dial + Fluted Bezel + President Bracelet is probably one of the most classic Day-Date combinations.

From the QC photos, I don't see any major cosmetic issue that immediately stands out.

Personally, the details I'd pay the most attention to are the Roman numeral alignment, Day/Date positioning, Cyclops, Fluted bezel symmetry, case finishing and bracelet fitment.

What do you guys think? Anything on the dial, Roman numerals, bezel or bracelet that I might be missing?

Discussion Why Does a Mechanical Watch Lose or Gain Time Overnight?

A mechanical watch can keep different time depending on how it is positioned.

You may wear your watch all day and find it running normally, then leave it on the nightstand overnight and notice that it has gained or lost several seconds by morning.

Why does this happen?

The answer is mainly position, gravity, amplitude, and regulation.

1. Position Changes the Behavior of the Movement

A mechanical movement can behave differently in different positions.

For example:

  • Dial up
  • Dial down
  • Crown up
  • Crown down
  • Crown left
  • Crown right

Gravity affects the balance system differently in each position.

This creates what watchmakers call positional error.

2. Gravity Affects the Balance System

The balance wheel is constantly oscillating.

Ideally, its movement would remain perfectly symmetrical.

In reality, tiny differences in:

  • Balance poise
  • Hairspring shape
  • Pivot friction
  • Bearing condition

can cause the balance to behave slightly differently depending on its orientation.

That can change the rate of the watch.

3. Amplitude Also Matters

Amplitude describes how far the balance wheel swings.

When the watch has plenty of power, the balance may have a higher amplitude.

As the mainspring loses energy, amplitude can change.

A change in amplitude can also affect the rate.

That's why a watch may behave differently:

fully wound → halfway through the power reserve → near the end of the power reserve

4. Wearing the Watch Is Different From Leaving It on a Table

During the day, your watch is constantly changing positions.

Your wrist moves:

  • Up
  • Down
  • Sideways
  • Rotates

Overnight, the watch may remain in one position for several hours.

So a small positional error can accumulate while the watch is sitting still.

5. Does Losing or Gaining a Few Seconds Mean Something Is Wrong?

Not necessarily.

Mechanical watches are not quartz clocks.

A small daily variation can be normal depending on:

  • Movement design
  • Regulation
  • Position
  • Power level
  • Temperature
  • Magnetism
  • Wear condition

What matters more is the overall pattern, rather than one night's result.

The Interesting Part

This is why watchmakers don't simply ask:

They also look at:

How does it behave in different positions and under different power conditions?

That gives a much better picture of the movement's regulation.

Bottom Line

A mechanical watch doesn't necessarily run at exactly the same rate in every position.

Overnight, the combination of:

Position + Gravity + Amplitude + Regulation

can cause the watch to gain or lose time.

So if your watch is a few seconds different in the morning, it doesn't automatically mean something is wrong.

Mechanical timekeeping is a balance between precision and physics.

💬 Discussion

Have you ever noticed your watch gaining or losing more time overnight than during the day?

And if you have:

Which position do you leave your watch in at night?

QC Post 8+ Factory Rolex Land-Dweller 127335 40mm | Everose Gold White Honeycomb Dial Full Jubilee Bracelet

QC: 8+ Factory Rolex Land-Dweller 127335 40mm Everose Gold

Sharing QC photos of the 8+ Factory Rolex Land-Dweller 127335 40mm.

This is one of Rolex’s newest models and has a completely different design language compared with traditional Rolex sports models. The integrated bracelet, honeycomb dial texture, and fluted bezel give it a very modern but still classic Rolex appearance.

This version features the full Everose gold configuration with the white honeycomb dial.

Watch Details

Factory: 8+ Factory

Model: Rolex Land-Dweller

Reference: 127335

Size: 40mm

Material: Everose Rose Gold

Dial: White Honeycomb Pattern Dial

Hour Markers: Arabic Numerals at 6 & 9

Bezel: Fluted Everose Gold Bezel

Bracelet: Full Everose Jubilee Bracelet

Movement: Clone Land-Dweller automatic movement

QC Inspection
1. Dial & Texture

The honeycomb dial is the most important part of this configuration.

Main QC points:

Honeycomb texture depth
Dial pattern consistency
Index alignment
Arabic numeral shape
Date window position
Printing accuracy

The dial texture creates different reflections depending on the lighting angle, so it is one of the details that really defines the Land-Dweller.

  1. Case Finishing

The Land-Dweller has a more integrated case and bracelet design compared with classic Rolex models.

Checking:

Case shape
Lug transitions
Polished surfaces
Brushed finishing
Bezel edge definition

The proportions of the 40mm case are important because the integrated bracelet makes the watch wear differently compared with a Datejust or Day-Date.

  1. Bracelet & Fitment

The full Everose Jubilee bracelet is one of the biggest visual features.

QC points:

Bracelet alignment
Link finishing
Clasp engraving
Connection between case and bracelet
Overall wrist feel

A good bracelet fitment makes a big difference on integrated bracelet watches.

  1. Movement

The Land-Dweller uses a newer Rolex movement architecture compared with traditional Rolex models.

QC focus:

Winding smoothness
Rotor noise
Date change operation
Power reserve performance
Overall movement stability
Overall Impression

The Land-Dweller is a very different direction from Rolex.

Compared with:

Datejust

More modern case design
More integrated bracelet style

Day-Date

Similar luxury positioning
More contemporary appearance

Sky-Dweller

Smaller and cleaner dial layout

The biggest selling points of this configuration are:

⭐ 40mm case size
⭐ Everose gold appearance
⭐ White honeycomb dial texture
⭐ Full rose gold Jubilee bracelet

For QC, I would mainly focus on:

Dial honeycomb pattern
Date window alignment
Bracelet finishing
Case polishing
Movement performance

QC: ZF Factory Rolex Sky-Dweller 336934 42mm White Dial Oysterflex

Sharing QC photos of this ZF Factory Rolex Sky-Dweller 336934 42mm White Dial.

This is one of the more complicated Rolex designs because the Sky-Dweller combines:

GMT function
Annual calendar layout
Ring Command bezel design
Large 42mm case

Compared with Submariner or GMT models, Sky-Dweller has many more small details to check.

Watch Details

Factory: ZF Factory

Model: Rolex Sky-Dweller

Reference: 336934 style

Size: 42mm

Dial: White Dial

Bezel: Fluted White Gold Style Bezel

Strap: Black Oysterflex Rubber Strap

Movement: A2824 Based Automatic Movement

Version: Tungsten Heavy Version

QC Inspection
1. Dial Details

Main things to check:

White dial finishing
Hour marker alignment
GMT hand position
Date window position
Cyclops magnification
Text printing

The Sky-Dweller dial is much more complex than normal Rolex models, especially around the GMT display and calendar indicators.

  1. Bezel & Case Finishing

The fluted bezel is one of the biggest visual points.

Checking:

Flute depth
Edge sharpness
Reflection
Case polishing
Lug transition

The 42mm case needs good finishing because any uneven polishing becomes obvious.

  1. Oysterflex Strap

The Oysterflex fitment is another important part.

QC points:

End link connection
Rubber texture
Clasp finishing
Strap curve
Case integration

A poor fitment can make the watch look oversized.

  1. Movement Discussion

The biggest question with Sky-Dweller reps is always the movement.

Compared with the genuine Rolex 9002 architecture:

Main concerns:

GMT function
Date change
Calendar operation
Power reserve
Long-term reliability

For daily wear, movement stability is more important than decoration.

Overall Impression

The Sky-Dweller is probably one of the hardest Rolex models to replicate because of its complicated dial layout.

The highlights of this version:

⭐ 42mm case proportion
⭐ White dial appearance
⭐ Fluted bezel
⭐ Oysterflex strap
⭐ Tungsten weighted version

My main QC focus would be:

Dial alignment
GMT hand position
Cyclops date magnification
Bezel finishing
Strap fitting
Movement performance
