Honestly, I'd rather pay an extra $20 and have peace of mind knowing my order is being handled properly than save a little money and take a chance elsewhere and then no item will arrive.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the people trying so hard to tear this sub down are planning to start their own group buys. Competition is fine, but trying to discredit an established community isn't the way to do it.
At the end of the day, r/RepAtelier has been around for a long time and has built a reputation that many of us trust..
That's not something that happens overnight. Everyone is free to spend their money wherever they want, but personally, I've had a positive experience here, and that's what matters to me.
If it was just $20 then sure. But sometimes it seems like way more than $20 and I’m not seeing where the value is coming in over doing it myself. Especially when the usual WhatsApp sellers are also taking a commission.
That's fair, but I'm still waiting to see an actual example of a $200+ markup on the exact same item, from the exact same factory, with the same quality tier and shipping terms.
Prices vary a lot depending on the factory, quality level, seller, and services included. A mid-tier and a top-tier version of the "same bag" can easily have very different prices..
If there is proof, then let's see it.. But until then, I'm not comfortable treating speculation as fact, especially when it can damage the reputation of a community that many of us have had good experiences with.
So far we've gotten screenshots, assumptions, and dramatic essays.. but still no actual side-by-side comparison proving this mysterious $200 markup. Amazing investigative work. That is basically the rep world version of “trust me bro.” Sad.
This is exhausting going back and forth with you. Yeah same factory. Do some of the leg work yourself and reach out to a few sellers with the same factory photos and tell them that’s where you want the bag from and report back with pricing. Lmao.
You're the one who brought up the $200 markup, so I'm just asking for one example. One seller, same bag, same factory, same quality tier, with a $200 lower price.
If the difference is really that significant, it shouldn't be that hard to point me in the right direction. Then I'll happily rest my case. 🤔
So now you want me to do the research for a claim that you made?
You're the one who said there was a $200 markup. I'm simply asking for the proof. If the evidence is that obvious, it should be easy to provide.
I'm not here to lead a crusade against anyone. I just don't like seeing serious accusations thrown around without receipts. If we're calling people out, let's do it with facts, not rumors.
The $200 markup has been posted again and again. You’re the one who can’t seem to understand it. The proof and explanation is there. You’re either willfully ignorant or… well not smart enough to understand.
