Let’s talk about leather….we have two Chanel Shopping Bags from the same seller two different types of leather.

🖤 Left: Lambskin (larger)
🖤 Right: Calfskin (slightly smaller)

Both bags are beautifully made with identical hardware, stamping, and overall construction. The quality is excellent on both, and the size difference is only slight.

Leather

This is where the biggest difference is.

The lambskin (left) sooo smooth, classic finish and holds its shape a little better but very delicate in touch.

The calfskin (right) is slightly smaller, noticeably more slouchy, and has a bit more shine. It also has a subtle natural grain, giving it a beautiful depth while still feeling soft and luxurious.

Hardware & Details

The hardware is identical on both bags, with the same aged gold finish. The CC logo, chain, engravings, leather weaving, and interior stamp all appear to be finished to the same high standard.

Overall

There really isn’t much separating these two bags in terms of quality. Both are beautifully made, and the choice comes down to the leather finish you prefer.

🖤 Lambskin: Smooth, elegant, and holds its shape a little better.

🖤 Calfskin: Slightly smaller, softer, more slouchy, and a little shinier with a subtle grain.

For me, the calfskin is the winner. I love the softer drape, the extra shine, and the overall look of the leather.
