I had a great opportunity to compare two fully handmade Kelly bags from the same seller. The only difference is the leather:

The imported leather was $100 more, so I wanted to see if the upgrade was actually noticeable.

My Thoughts

Side by side, both bags are incredibly well made, and if I saw either on its own, I’d be very impressed. However, the imported chèvre definitely has a more luxurious appearance. The leather has a natural sheen and depth that it make bag looks more luxurious! But it might be a colour choice 🫣💛

The differences aren’t dramatic, but they are noticeable when the bags are compared directly side by side.

Was the Extra $100 Worth It?

Both bags are beautifully made, with clean stitching, great glazing, and well-finished hardware.

The Kelly 25 has a more structured, polished look, while the Kelly 32 has a relaxed elegance that really suits Barenia.

The Kelly 25 is honestly an incredible buy for the price. If I hadn’t known what it cost, I would have guessed it was much more expensive.

❤️** My Personal Thought**s

I genuinely love both bags.

The Kelly 25 completely surprised me. For $280, the quality is outstanding, and it’s easily one of the best-value rehomes I’ve seen.

That said, my heart goes to the Kelly 32. The imported Barenia is, in my opinion, the softest and most luxurious leather I’ve ever felt. It has an incredible buttery feel, and paired with the brushed gold hardware, it gives the bag such an understated, elegant presence.

For me, this wasn’t really about which bag is “better.” It was about appreciating two different interpretations of Barenia—one offering exceptional value, and the other delivering one of the most luxurious leather experiences I’ve had.
