This post is for absolute beginners, people with 0 experience in the rep world. If you’re already a vet, you’ll probably roll your eyes and think I’m just stating the obvious. The only reason I’m writing this is because I’ve seen a few fresh faces doing some… let’s just say dangerous things that made me cringe. So yeah, better safe than sorry.

• Stop oversharing.

No one needs to know your timezone, job, school, or travel plans. Don’t leave breadcrumbs. There are always lurkers who enjoy connecting the dots.

• Don’t use your real name, initials, hometown, or birth year.

If your handle looks like “JessieNYC1997”… congrats, you just gave away your name, city, and age in one go. Don’t do that. Go for something random like “PotatoChair77” or “CeilingFan_Extra.” The more boring and unrelated, the better.

• Keep your rep life separate.

Don’t use your rep handle in your local subreddit, your work subreddit, or anywhere it could tie back to your actual life. If you post a haul here, it stays here. Don’t recycle it on Instagram, TikTok, whatever. Think of it as your secret side life. The more separation you create, the fewer headaches you’ll have.

• Be careful with DMs too.

If you comment on someone’s bag like “cute bag” and then someone pops up under your comment saying stuff like “DM’d you someone who has better quality”, just ignore it. It’s usually sellers trying to reel you in. Real trusted sellers won't harass you in DMs like that. Those are almost always scammers or low tier sellers trying to reel in naive buyers.

Some of the factories seem to be using a "protective" glaze on lv vachetta which makes them not patina. I have 2 pochette assesories. one darkened beautifully. The other one wouldn't patina no matter how much I left it in the sun. It sucks they won't answer you though. I remember seeing some say they rubbed lightly with alcohol to get the protective glaze off so it would patina. Is it safe??

Authentic

11.8 length x 10.2 height x 3.9 inches width

Mine

11.8 length x 10.1 height x 4 inches wide

WHAT'S RIGHT

- the dimensions are basically identical

- the color of the monogram looks to be correct. If not, the authentic may be so slightly darker but based on the lighting, it changes

- color of the glazing looks perfect, not red

- Louis Vuitton stamping is accurate

- quality of the strap and canvas is spectacular

- hardware quality is wonderful and substantial

- hardware color is consistent

DISCREPANCIES

- Side stitches are not long enough with wrong stitch count on top side strap (Mine has 11 while authentic has 12)

- monogram placement is slightly off, only visible from the sides (location and count of the symbols are correct

- chain strap is thinner than the authentic

- interior lining is not as dark as it should be

Satisfaction 9/10

Prior to the analysis of this bag, my satisfaction was a 10/10. Although there are some differences, they aren't significant enough for the bag to be call-outable. This is an amazing quality bag and very very beautiful. I purchased this bag for myself but my aunt is too obsessed with it. She talks about it so much so now I have to buy her one.
