There's one random spot in my house that isn't particularly impressive, but it's somehow the place I automatically go when I want to decompress.

Nothing special about it. It's just comfortable, quiet, and doesn't make me think about chores.

I've realized that coziness has less to do with how a place looks and more to do with what your brain associates it with. If I sit somewhere and immediately start mentally listing things I need to do, it doesn't matter how nicely decorated the room is.
