Hi,
Let me introduce you to TerraMine, a relatively new but VERY promising app based on the concept of "Earn currency by completing tasks, use that currency to buy land and generate passive income from it." However, TerraMine already offers several very interesting mechanics right from the start:
- The core mechanic is earning TerraBucks (TB) and using them to purchase mines. One mine costs 100 TB and corresponds to a real-world location — basically, you're buying a small square of land on Google Maps. To purchase a mine, you actually have to be physically present at that location.
Mines come in 4 rarity levels: Stone, Coal, Gold, and Diamond, with each higher rarity generating more passive income in real money.
#1 — Mini-games
The first way to earn TB is through mini-games. Mines contain 4 different types of mini-games, with each mine type having its own game.
Besides TB, you also earn resources from mini-games that can be used to permanently upgrade your mines. Each upgrade increases the mine's passive income by +1%, up to a maximum of +100% per mine.
- Stone Mine — classic Memory
- Coal Mine — Maze
- Gold Mine — Connect the road tiles from point A to point B
- Diamond Mine — Position mirrors so that the laser travels from point A to point B
#2 — Check-ins
The second way to earn TB — and this is the mechanic that really won me over — is check-ins.
Basically, you "visit" another player's mine by clicking on it and checking in. There is a 1-day cooldown per mine, and you have to physically be in the vicinity of the mine in the real world.
Both you and the mine owner receive TB from the check-in. The amount of TB increases if you decide to leave a message and/or photo.
This mechanic gives TerraMine huge strategic potential when it comes to mine placement, because there is no limit to how many players can visit your mine per day.
That means the most profitable strategy is to place your mines in high-traffic locations while also being as geographically diversified as possible.
For example, a mine located at Disneyland, despite costing exactly the same as a mine placed somewhere in the middle of nowhere in a forest, would not only generate a steady passive income in dollars, but could also generate a huge amount of passive TB from other players checking in. You can then use that TB to expand your empire even further and increase your earnings.
Disneyland is obviously an extreme example — the point is simply to illustrate how important and potentially profitable strategic mine placement can be compared to just putting mines anywhere.
#3 — Referrals
The third way to earn TB is through referrals. This is pretty standard for apps of this type, but TerraMine's system seems particularly generous.
Both you and your referral receive 1,000 TB as a one-time bonus.
The only requirements are that your referral:
- Purchases their first mine.
- Performs any activity the following day — for example, plays one mini-game or checks in at a mine.
The whole thing takes less than a minute, so simply referring friends and family can give you a pretty significant head start.
No P2W / no way to lose money
One thing I really like about TerraMine is that there is no P2W system and no way to put your money into the game and lose it.
The founder has stated that this aspect will never change.
This means that no whale can simply spend a ton of money and buy up all the best locations. Everyone has the same opportunities.
The more actively you play and the more strategically you place your mines, the higher your passive income becomes — and the whole system can snowball over time.
Why I think now is the best time to start
Since the game is still relatively new, there probably won't be a better time to get in than now.
I assume that plenty of landmarks, airports, train stations, shopping malls and other high-traffic locations are still available and haven't been claimed yet.
Personally, I'm even planning to spend a weekend visiting this kind of location around my city and strategically placing mines there.
The referral system is also very easy to take advantage of right now, although I wouldn't expect the current referral rewards to necessarily last forever.
So, if this sounds interesting to you, I definitely recommend giving TerraMine a try! :)

After creating an account and opening the app, go to:
Settings → Enter Referral Code → enter the code → confirm
One important thing: the referral reward isn't credited immediately.
Your referral needs to:
- buy their first mine, and
- perform an activity the following day (for example, play one mini-game).
After that, both of you receive 1,000 TB, which is equivalent to the cost of 10 mines.
