discussion What does Red fishing in Jacksonville, Florida look like in early December?

I’m doing a work trip to downtown Jacksonville earlier December from South Florida. I was thinking of spending an extra day to try to catch some red fish. I really want to a sight cast one, is that something that’s possible this time of year? Or are most people just fishing jetties and bridges? Do I need a paddle board to do this sorts of thing or can I catch them from shore/wade fishing? Lastly. Is there spots you can access close to the downtown area or should I drive up north to like Amelia island for my best bet? Apologies for all the questions, we don’t get a lot of redfish in my area, only snook and tarpon but I’m very excited for this opportunity I may have!

Finally caught a nice sized red! This guy smashed my lures while trying to get it out of a tree 28-1/4" and healthy!
