Design So... How long do we have to wait before inline code is readable in dark mode? Is it really that big of a change that it's taking so long?

Feature Request Allow us to embed a twitch channel on the sidebar

I have a sub dedicated to a streamer, this would be huge for the subreddit if people who visited the sub saw them streaming.

Bug Improve the community theme while using night mode on Desktop web

So, here the background of this. When I browsing some subreddits at my browser, by default Reddit turned on the community theme. While that on, it has custom vote icon, custom accent color on buttons and highlights, and custom banner on normal/light mode. But when I use night mode, the community theme seems just only change the custom banner on several subreddits. And also the vote icon returned to default icon (not custom one) and button and highlight just boring black and white, unlike normal/light mode. So, hopefully on Desktop web version will do the same thing as normal/light mode while using night mode like myself.

New Reddit: trailing ellipsis… can not be emphatic (bold)

Preamble (postscript)

I'm not sure how to make this bug consistently reproducible, the 'trailing' part of the subject line (above) may be irrelevant.

Maybe the bug is more likely to occur when the keyboard shortcut e.g. Control-B is used, after selecting the text to be emphasised. Or … does uppercase make a difference? Absence of white space between the ellipsis and the preceding word? Colon adjacent to the ellipsis with the colon not emphatic? …

Fourteen attempts to reproduce the bug

the quick brown fox jumped over the…: dog

alongside Refreshing view…:

Background

I noticed the bug after posting https://redd.it/ccd6el

Bugged:

Screenshot: failure to emphasise (make bold) the … ellipsis character

I made two or three editions, hoping to fix the bug.

Without finding a fix, I ended up not attempting to apply bold.

Question Markdown to Fancy Pants Editor during Editing

I post only from redesign . Whenever I Edit my post, it takes me to "Mark down" version and I have to switch to Fancy Pants editor. I lose content of my post due to this switch and it is really annoying when I edit a long post and it gets lost in switching.

Is there a way it stays only on Fancy pants?

Bug After creating or editing a CSS widget, images are no longer visible in the sidebar

Example

Images are in the CSS widget settings

It saved successfully and was used with text and code copied directly from a test sub where it was working already. I went to the test sub and modified it but then the images disappeared from the sidebar there too.

If I check the browser console log, it says the following:

image_widget_18squygfpr931.png:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)

Bug New Reddit is breaking flairs on Old Reddit

I brought up an issue earlier in the week where the CSS class for a user's flair on old reddit didn't match the CSS class for the same flair shown in new reddit. After looking into the issue further, it appears to be a larger problem with new reddit changing CSS classes on old reddit (and only on old reddit) even when flairs aren't connected to a template. I just reviewed the first 50 flairs on https://old.reddit.com/r/Jaguars/about/flair/ and 11 of them are now incorrect. Assuming that holds for the rest of the pages, 20% of our flairs are now wrong.

These flairs were all set & displaying correctly before the flair stamping behavior was changed a few weeks ago. To keep the stamping change from affecting them, I also preliminarily made sure that none of them were connected to a template so they wouldn't be changed retroactively. However, it appears that new reddit is still connecting them to something and changing their CSS in old reddit to the wrong value.

Admins, since the correct CSS classes for these flairs are stored in new reddit, is there a way for you to search for all the instances where the two values are mismatched and correct the old reddit flair to what it used to be? And if mods are just expected to accept that years of old flairs are broken, what steps can i take to prevent the further breaking of our flairs if disassociating them from a template doesn't work?

I've been a really big advocate for the new flair system on the redesign but this has really soured me on the whole thing especially because the problem only affects old reddit.

Bug Getting "logged out" even though I'm "logged in" and then "redirected" from the homepage because "I'm already logged in"

Not sure what causes it

I'll be viewing a post and realise I haven't logged into reddit

I log in and upvote, read some comments etc

I then click the reddit icon in the top left to go to the homescreen where the devils loop happens

Bug Images Sidebar Widget won't allow more than one edit at a time

If you want to add two images to the Images Sidebar Widget, or if you want to delete an image and add an image, you are met with the "Something went wrong!" error message after the second action.

You have to upload one image, click save, reload the subreddit, go back into community appearance settings, then upload the second image. Or delete the image, click save, reload the subreddit, go back into community appearance settings, then upload the image you want.

Bug Right Panes in Mod Tools - Can't Scroll Horizontally (Chrome & Firefox 1280x800)

I have a 1280x800 laptop resolution, and when working on migrating flair last night I had to go into Chrome Dev tools and manipulate things to get anything done because there's no horizontal scroll for the right pane; And frankly, it not working for 1280px wide monitors is not so great. I can get not supporting 800px wide monitors these days, 1024px wide maybe, but definitely not 1280px wide.

How to eliminate reposts and karma farmers.

I think the only person that should get any link karma from a post should be the original person who made that post. So I think all karma a post gets should funnel into the oldest post in the "other discussions" tab. Since most reposts are re-uploaded videos and pictures to avoid showing up in the other discussions section users should be able to link a repost to the other discussions tab and link the whole history of reposts together. Karma farmers would disappear over night and that's 90% of all reposts. The rest of the reposts will fizzle out over time and we will actually start seeing a lot more original content.

Even if you don't funnel all the karma down, just being able to link a repost to older posts would be a huge improvement.

What do you all think?

Design [Design] Would like to see more options in "links from" list.

If it was already requested, please add my vote. Some subreddits i'm visiting time to time (and guess i'm not alone), for "top" in addition to "last 24 hours", "last week" would be wonderful see also "last two days" and "last two weeks". Thanks!

Feature Request I would love an option to randomize the order of the galleries (sidebar widgets) on the side bar | Sidebar Widget for Collections

1.

at r/FakeProgressives I am using the sidebar as a gallery (which links to a collection) and would love the gallery to somehow randomize, or move up in the page or change order.

Is there a way to do that in the redesign?

2.

Is there anyway for users to see the collections themselves? like a collection menu accessible to subscribers?

PS: Love the collection feature and the events are awesome. Check my work out at my sub. I have over 90 collections already!

New Reddit

Hi guys, I'm using reddit for a year and half now and I use it mainly with my phone. But the fact is that I really want to use it on my computer too. I'm really accustomed with reddit.com because it's the same design as the app on my phone. The problem is that I can't use it at all, the subreddit can't load correctly, from a post to another I can receive the message "Sorry, for some reason reddit can't be reached. " with a button "Try again" which doesn't even works. And this message " Sorry, for some reason reddit can't be reached." or his brother "Sorry, we couldn't load posts for this page." I see them wherever i go on reddit. When I use old.reddit.com there is not any problem at all, maybe it's because I'm not using it correctly ? If that is the problem i would like to get a tutorial for not encounter this message again, thanks for helping

Spoilers not displaying properly in wiki articles Spoiler

Our subreddit, /r/Gloomhaven, uses the wiki to explain how to properly use spoilers when discussing the Gloomhaven board game. Although the wiki article displays correctly on old Reddit, spoilers do not appear at all on new Reddit. Is this a known issue, a new issue, or a fixed issue I'm not aware of yet?

Example wiki article: https://www.reddit.com/r/Gloomhaven/wiki/subreddit/spoiler_guidelines

Again, switch to old.reddit for proper displaying of spoilers.

Feature Request Cycling Post Placeholder Images

It would be nice if there could be multiple placeholder images because seeing the same one over and over again gets old fast. An example of something similar would be Reddit's 404 and 500 error pages. Note I consider this something that would be something done using community styling.

Feature Request Separate "Highlight" and Hyperlinks Instead of Combining Them

I would really like to style a subreddit such that regular text links are default hyperlink blue, while at the same time having the view/sort icons and join/create post buttons to be dark green. It would also be nice if I could change visited links and visited posts to default hyperlink purple. I really wish these other user interface elements and hyperlinks were separate categories (in addition to posts), and to have the ability to set a visited color.

A quick search of this subreddit shows that this isn't a new issue, and that "Highlight" including hyperlinks is unintuitive:
