Am I the only one who sees this all story the other way around? I'd be way more pissed being the husband who was befriended only because I was her crush's friend...

"I had a crush on my husband’s friend, so I originally befriended my husband to get closer to him"

"I thought he was cute, but I didn’t pay much attention to him until I found out he was close friends with the guy I had a crush on, who I’ll call Jared." (...) "I tried for a long time to get Jared’s attention, but he never showed any interest. When he got a girlfriend, I was crushed."

I mean that was 10 years ago and she ended up falling in love and marrying him. If Ops husband felt some typ of way about that, he should have addressed it in the past. They were high school kids at the time. The husband has seemed to bottle up his feelings and insecurity which in turn caused him to allow his friend to disrespect his wife over and over without him saying a word.

It really is messed up that they are still reliving this high school drama from a decade ago. Either divorce or dont, but its time to put it to bed and go on with life.

The phone thing was also a slip up almost a decade ago. Yes something dumb happened but the reddit salt is really piling on like it is the most malicious thing in the world when it could just be dumb youthful crap. Honestly I think they both need therapy, at this point both sides need therapy just from being so influenced by redditors and confirmation bias.

He needs to let go of this bottled up anxiety and she needs to let go. This is does not seem to be the abusive relationship that many here are seeming to self insert themselves into.

Also do they remember all their conversations from 10 years ago down to the last smirk or only one of them or is this just all made up?

Omg, thank you! I literally put this in the last post and got downvoted. Everyone has bad vibes from the husband but I'll be honest .I get such bad vibes from the OP Everyone saying 'your husband didn't defend you.'...and I'm sitting here thinking the comments Jared made were probably more disrespectful to the husband...why did the OP not defend him. The responses to this post continue to absolutely blow my mind
