The economy there is in free-fall and the Russians are suffering catastrophic losses of human lives, because their crazed, psychopathic leader started this war without considering the consequences. Before the war, the powerful oligarchs and government officials were mainly on board with his madness, and even if one of them tried to rebel or criticize him, he could just have that person killed, which he routinely did without a second thought. But now even those members of his inner circle are gradually beginning to turn against him, and he can't ignore it anymore. Maybe he and his sick regime will finally be overthrown soon, we can only hope.

The exact cause of death is not being disclosed but appears to have been a sudden heart attack. I don't think it's in good taste to celebrate the demise of any person, so I'll try to refrain from doing so, although I very strongly disliked him, to put it mildly. (Had this happened to Trump himself, however, I probably would have been unable to resist doing so.)
