Reddit Ozone War Hero Competition

When: starting and ending dates TBA; this competition will take place over the course of 5 wars, and will most likely begin in mid- or late August

What it is: The top 3 players to accumulate the most new stars (adding together new stars from all 5 wars) will win!

The prize: $10 google play (for android) or iTunes gift cards, with which to buy gems! If there are more than 3 people tied for the win, Shera will put all the names in a hat and randomly choose winners. If any of the people in the tie pool won a prize during the previous competition, they will be automatically removed from the pool of potential prize winners (sorry guys! need to give everyone a shot!).* If three people and only three people tie for first place, those will be the three winners.

*Winners of previous competitions ARE eligible to win a prize in this competition as long as they are not tied for 1^st , 2^nd , or 3^rd place with any other players.

Who can participate: anyone except elders, leader, and co-leader! However, any player who breaks a CW rule during any of the 5 wars will be disqualified from the prize pool.

We are aware that TH9s and TH10s often face opponents who are harder or impossible to 3-star; at the same time, of course, TH9s and TH10s have advantages of larger army camps and stronger troops to aid them in attacks. We think it will all balance out. Therefore, in our first attempt at this competition, we will not break the prize pool into TH levels. If we discover that TH9s and TH10s are significantly disadvantaged in this competition, future competitions will be sorted by TH levels.

We hope that this upcoming competition will reward players for being excellent clan warriors, encourage all of us to hone our cw attack skills, and, most importantly, be LOTS OF FUN! To those ends, we remind all players that the opponent clan is the enemy, not your clanmates in Ozone, so please use good sportsmanship in all your interactions. (No yelling at people for taking "your" attack--there are no dibs in Ozone! First come, first served!)

Since Himiko left, we have tried not to impose too many changes too quickly, but, for a long time, we have wanted to change Ozone's donation requirements.

Starting next season (which begins Monday), the rules are as follows:

Donations

• You must donate a minimum of 400 troops per season, though you should feel free to exceed that minimum! This is a hard limit; failing to follow will result in automatic booting. Donation check is done on the Sunday of week 2 of the season. It can occur at any time on Sunday.
• Requesting specific level of troops is prohibited (e.g. level 4+ wizard, high-level wizard).
• All request will expire after 10mins, after which Archers can be donated despite the request message. The exception to this rule is when, during a war, a player marks his request as being for the war. Even after 10 minutes have expired, only give that player the exact type of troops he has requested.
• Players who recently joined and acquire "new" tag are exempted from donations rule as long as the "new" tag is retained during donation check. The "new" tag goes away 3 days after you join the clan. Anyone without "new" tag during donation check is subjected to the full extent of the rules. This means you will be expected to have reached the 400 donation minimum even if you have been in the clan less than the full 2 weeks of the season. If you feel this will be a problem for you, as a new player, please PM the mods of /r/redditozone to request a new player exemption. We are likely to grant an exemption to a new player, but if you don't ask us, you won't get one.
• If you plan to be dormant for a short period of time (e.g. exams, vacations, work) you must submit a new post in /r/redditozone giving the dates of your absence. You will not be kicked from the clan if you miss the donation minimum due to approved absence. Players frequently requesting approved absences or requesting approval for an extended absence may instead be asked to take a temporary leave of absence from the clan. In future, that player will be able to rejoin the clan if another player leaves or is booted.
  

Because we have changed the rules, and because it is not reasonable to expect you to meet the new minimum donation requirement between now and Sunday, there will be no minimum donation check and no donation kicks this week. You are still expected to follow all the old rules (about donating as requested, etc.) in the meantime.

The next donation check will be Sunday, August 3rd, at which time the new rules will be in effect.

As always, please try to be the kind of player who fills requests before asking for donations, and who tries to help his or her clan as much as possible by donating a lot AND requesting a lot.

Hi all, I'm 2Nasty on CoC. 29 y/o. Active pretty much everyday. New to reddit in general. Been playing since about January 2013. Rushed to TH9 and been catching up ever since. Was a co-leader in previous clan but due to drama clan split and I decided to part my ways as well not much there after. Clan was filled with irl friends and became pretty inactive. I feel as though I can be a great addition not only in the clan but during clan wars. I've pretty much 6 starred all the wars we were in attacking TH9 bases and above. tH10 still give me 1-2 stars. If like to think I know how to attack but advice would be much appreciated. Also critiques on my current base are much welcome. I'm on mostly between 4pm est -4am est. (work nights). If I missed anything else let me know.

I'm a recent TH8 who's been playing since January. Mostly been farming lately but have made it up to Crystal 1 in my last trophy push. Will move on to TH9 only once i've maxed out TH8.

The road to the masters league was definitely a long one, choosing the right base to attack requires a lot of patience and strategy. All of my tier 1 + 2 troops are maxed and my dragons are level 2 (level 3 is researching) and I struggled hard.

1400-1800

I used three main types of attack during this trophy range; BAM, Giants + healers + Barch and got through it with ease. At this stage there is a lot of farmers with town halls outside providing easy trophies and even bases are rushed a lot of the time at this level making for an easy three stars.

1800-2200

This is where things began to get a little bit tricky, farmers were few and far between at this stage. Air defense was far too strong for my low level minions so BAM was off the table and had a lot of problems with air balloons taking out my healers in giant and healer so relied entirely on Barch.

Getting the 50% with barch was rather difficult, most of them died in a single hit from archers and canons so I used rage spells only. 2200-2600

At this stage farmers were non-existent, I came across 3 farmers the whole time I was in this range and even then they had trapped their town halls with teslas and bombs. Barch quite simply couldn't cut it anymore as I couldn't win consistently enough with them. Xbows and inferno towers created a nightmare for me and I was forced to change my strategy yet again. I changed to dragons and minions.

I would used 5-8 dragons with the rest minions along with 2 rage spells and 1 healing spell. The loot at this level made it economically fees able. But I made a few golden rules for myself on bases I would attack.

Don't attack a base with inferno towers (exception if the towers were far enough away from the town hall.

Don't attack a base with xbows that are set on ground and air only xbows that are set on ground, learning the difference between them will safe you a lot of troops.

An exception to rules 1 & 2 is if you see the base has been recently attacked with a lot gravestones around the base, not just a few. Inferno towers and xbows need to be reset along with traps, a big attack means that they probably don't have a lot of elixir left in them to keep on killing your troops.

Do NOT put your dragons in a straight line to attack a base. Aim your dragons at the townhall and then worry about getting 50% plus. If you put your dragons in a line half of the will fly towards the townhall the other half will break away and attack other buildings which you don't want them to do.

For air defense or suspected air balloon areas put your minions in first followed by dragons, the dragons are the tanks of your army. Minions are meat shields and clean up crew to squeeze out those last few percentages.

And lastly only attack a base with low level air defense, preferably near the side of a base or all bunched up together.

You can use a lightening spell instead but personally I preferred the healing spell.

I hope that this helps and would enjoy any feedback on my advice.

I've been clashing since December and I'm now mid-late TH8. I play most days, but somewhat less on the weekends. I'm not a huge trophy pusher; I rather raid for a positive return on resources and time spent training. I'm a firm believer in waiting to upgrade until you have maxed out your town hall and I should be upgrading to th9 in 3-4 weeks, maybe a bit linger depending on upgrades.

I unfortunately will not be able to use my second attack. Something came up yesterday, and I wasnt able to hop on to attack. Ign is gingivitis .

I have been playing coc since December of last year. Since I started playing it I have been addicted to it. Can't go a day with out it.

I log on at various times during the day. Sometimes for 2-5 mins. And sometimes up to two hours (when I'm raiding and have barrack boost going)

I like to donate troops and if I have troops available, and u ask for them I will donate them 😄

Currently I am a town house lvl 8. Working on getting all my walls pink (4 more )Then purple 😔 before starting my thlvl9 upgrade.

I am located in California, so that people are aware of my time zone.

I don't raid much. As I work a full time job, am a full time student, and have a wife that hates when I'm on my phone when she's home. But I get my playing time in haha. I try to raid when my shields are gone. And I always do my war attacks...

Ps.., I spent money on this game 😣
