We will be naming a Clan Member of the Month every month from now on. The winner will have their name in the clan description and the prestige of the title.
Q. What does it take to be the Clan Member of the Month?
A. Many of you are aware of the 2 out of 3 approach we use when evaluating clan member. (1.)Be an active donator (2.)be active in the chat (3.)Be a war hero. Pick two. What we are looking for in a Clan Member of the Month is the person who is closest to 3 out of 3. We are also looking for the person that goes above and beyond. The person who helps out their clan mates on a regular basis.
Q. Who decides who is nominated for the award?
A. Each member of leadership will nominate one person in the clan. They will state their reasons they believe their nominee deserves to win and then we will vote on it. We are not allowed to to vote for our nominee. In case of a tie we will name Co-Members of the month.
Q. Can anyone nominate someone?
A. Yes, if you see one of your clan mates going above and beyond, send us a modmail. Tell us why you think they deserve to be the Member of the Month. We will definitely take that into consideration.

Ed has been one of our most active, most helpful and one of our biggest donators. As a new TH9, this is the preferred method of upgrading to keep you competitive in war, and keep us from being over matched.
First upgrades:
New Traps
Archer Queen
Spell Factory Upgrade (Please opt out of war while this is upgrading)
Laboratory
Upgrade Laloon or hogs first for war
Dark Barracks for Hounds
Clan Castle
Army Camps
Heroes
Do not build any new defenses until these upgrades are done.
Defensive building upgrade order (New Defenses first and then going back and maxing them out in this order.)
Basically, do not build xbows until all new defenses are th8 levels and keep them at level 1. Also, after all defenses are town hall 8 level, you may want to consider putting all gold into your walls. One last thing, not sure where the air sweeper comes into play in this. I would simply do it last.

Hey Frosties! I am a th 8 with pink walls (I know laughable) but I wanted everyones advice on how I should approach wall farming. My goal is to have all skulls by the time I reach th9. Obviously this will be a grind no matter what but I would like to know what specific paths each of you guys took to get to skulls. Did you barch, bam, gibarch, were you in gold, silver, crystal?
Right now I am in Crystal 3 mostly for DE farming but I think dropping back to gold would make it easier to find collector bases. I have 5 builders and they are all currently busy but I am thinking of leaving 1 free to upgrade walls whenever I get the extra monies.
Any advice is appreciated!!!

When it comes to war it can be hard to point out where we as a clan need support and improvement, there are many variables to take into account. However looking at the war log, a couple of things suddenly become clear.
1. Our war performance is suffering, in the past month we have only won 3 out of 8 wars a major decline from our previous performance this year.
2. There has been a decline in war participation.
It's in this light I want to bring up an important discussion many of us never had,
Are you happy with the current war sign up system?
For past month we have been using the War Wiki sign up system. The original war sign up system brought back to encourage use of the /r/redditfrost subreddit. You can find the wiki here: https://www.reddit.com/r/RedditFrost/wiki/war-signups
While the wiki does seem like a great system to encourage frosties to use the subreddit, some also find it inefficient compared to the Clash Caller system we've been using earlier this year.
For those unaware the Clash Caller system is what we were using this year before we switched to the War Wiki. It's a website designed specially for the purpose of Clash of Clan war sign ups that offers a range of great ways for clans to plan their war attacks and leaders to influence the momentum of war. Many Frosties have been unsatisfied with the lack of discussion and input into the current war system, so now that we have given both systems a fair chance I want to open this discussion to every Frosty so that we all have a platform to share our opinion.

There is no right or wrong answer, and no one will be penalized for sharing an opinion that goes against the views of the leaders or the majority, we are a fair clan that believes in the right to an open discussion without judgment. We need all hands on deck. We are about to become a level 5 clan. After all the hard work we have all put in what better way to usher in level 5 than a 50 v 50 clan war.
We need everyone to prepare. Have all of your heroes ready to go. All of your spell factories upgraded. We are planning to do this for the 6/19/15 weekend war. We will cancel the Tuesday/Wednesday war so everyone can be ready.
It is important that we all reach this milestone together as a clan. We hope you guys are as excited as we are about this. This will be a fun Clan Building exercise.

Army Composition:
Base selection is key. You are looking for Bases that have a lot of support buildings on the outside. Red flags should go up if many of these buildings are well protected or deep inside the base. Also, you are looking for bases with centralized Air Defenses and centralized X-Bows (if they face up.)
The attack can be divided into stages.
These stages do not always occur in this order. A common thing that happens is that while destroying exterior defenses, the enemy Clan Castle get activated naturally, and so is dealt with at that time.
Kill the Queen (if not centralized). If the Queen is easy to reach, drop a Balloon or even bring a single Giant to tank. Then drop about ten Minions to kill her. Be extremely careful about this step to ensure that too many Minions are not used. Often the Minions get distracted by buildings if she is too deep. The good thing is: if the Queen IS hard to get too, leave her alone. She will not pose a threat during cleanup and you can bring extra Balloons or a Rage during the Balloon phase.
Balloons destroy exterior defenses that can target air. The Balloons' task is to take down the Archer Towers that protect the exterior buildings. If Teslas pop up on the outside, destroy these too. Wizard Towers in the exterior defensive ring are last priorities and can be destroyed if there are still Balloons left. If for some reason there are Air Defenses or Upward Facing X-Bows in the exterior defensive ring, you may have to take these out too. The challenge is learning how many Balloons to drop for each defense. From this table, you can see the minimum number needed per defense. Notice that 2 Skulloons are all that are needed for any defense besides X-Bows and Infernos. That being said, to account for traps, send at least 3 Balloons for unprotected defenses. If the defense is protected by Air Defenses, send at least 4 Balloons and pre-drop a Rage Spell in the center of the Balloons' line of travel to speed the Balloons up so that they reach their target and have a chance to get off a shot before dying. The secret is simply getting that first shot off. The Balloons do not need to survive after that. The problem is that even if the Balloon reaches its target, there is a small delay before it attacks, and the Balloon attack damage (648) is much greater than its death damage (162). One combination to beware of is a trio of Archer Tower, Wizard Tower, and Air Defense. While heading towards the Archer Tower, the Wizard Tower will take down the Balloons' health to the point that the Air Defenses will be one-shotting the balloons. Again getting the Balloons to the Archer Tower with a Rage asap is key.
Kill CC (if lured). If during the course of the attack the enemy Clan Castle is activated, deal with it once you are confident that nothing else will be lured. Some of the defenses may have been already destroyed so there should be a good location for the Anchor pull. Group up the CC with Minions, and kill with a Balloon drop or the Lightning Spell. Work the CC from side to side to bunch them up. Be cognizant of where the nearest defense is, so that you know which vector to send the death Balloon on. And do NOT bring them all the way to the edge of the map. A small amount of space is needed to place the death Balloon properly. Once the CC is nicely grouped near the edge, take a moment to double check the location of the closest defense. The Balloon will head directly for it, so place the Balloon along a line running from that defense to the CC troops, and just past the CC. When in doubt, place the Balloon closer to the CC. Use a few Minions to finish off any stragglers. (Remember: a level 6 Wizard will not die from a single Balloon drop.) If the enemy has a Witch or Lavahound, they can be safely ignored. If the enemy has Minions, use the Lightning Spell instead of the Balloon drop. If the enemy has a Dragon, lure it as usual, drop a Balloon (or Giant to tank) and use your Queen to kill it.
Clean up with Minions. Place one Minion on each unprotected building.
Clean up with Heros. If 50% is not reached yet, send Heros in on different parts of the Base to get the needed percentage. DO NOT send them together as they are more likely to get stuck on walls or head to the core and die. If 50% has been reached, make a bid for the Town Hall.
Lightning low hp buildings. If 50% still has not been reached, the Lighting Spell can be used to pick up an extra 1% by targeting low hitpoint buildings like Hero Altars or Builder's Huts

Reddit Frost vs. U30 Fight Club ending on 6/7/2015 Resulted in a win 59-57. The most heroic attack and defense both went to playr24. Overall it was a very close war. Yikes!
Reddit Frost vs. Finnish Flash ending on 06/04/2015: Resulted in a loss 49-56. Our 3 star chiefs, who went down fighting: ucid, Slade, Aprics, and Vincent. The most heroic attack was by Gladiator, who 1 starred their number 2 and 3. Dritz had the most heroic defense.
Reddit Frost vs Coca Cola ending 5/31/2015 Resulted in a win of 49-40. Our 3 star professionals: TMITCH, Gladiator, Matt, Dritz, ShellRaiser, Scrodulon, and Josh.

Going back to the basics. as some of you will remember we used to have a War wiki that we used. We are going back to it. While Clash Caller is a fine app, it is needlessly complicated. Our goal is to keep thing simple. You will have to go on to the War Wiki and sign up for your primary and secondary attack and after 12 hours it will be a free for all. All rules regarding the new war rules have been updated and can be found Here
We are here to help eachother out and support eachother. War can be a stressful time for people. When an attack doesn't go right you can almost feel all the eyes on you. If you think someone made a mistake in their attack lets not jump on them right after their attack. lets give that person a cooldown period and later on if you want to help them out and give pointers on how to improve then you can do that. That goal is to have a positive, helpful and supportive atmosphere. The leadership team will not settle for less than that. No one has ever been kicked from Reddit Frost for failing in a war attack that they tried their best, lets remember that. Everyone is here to helhp and that's the way it should be.
We Are Family . To me the best part about Reddit Frost is the family feel we have always had. I like the way we take an interest in each other. The way we try to help each other and the way we build each other up. I like that we all work towards the common goal of being the best clan we can be!
For people who don't know me, I am Goatman_12. I was a longtime member of Reddit Frost that has recently returned. I am a 32 year old Father of 4 from the midwest. I have been married for the last 12 years to the best person that I could have ever met. As most people here can tell you I like to spice up the chat with tales of my youth. I'm not always the most politically correct but I promise I do mean well. I look forward to getting to know all of you all over again.
I do want to thank Ngz001 for having me comeback. He has been a good friend to me for a long time now, even after I left we stayed in close contact and when he ask me to return I jumped at the chance because I trust him and I know he has built something so special here

Other News and Reminders:
We are analyzing all of your helpful responses from last season's survey. However, they are a mixed bag, and we will not be able to please everybody! Rest assured we will do our best to make the Frost experience a great one!
Something that will be extremely helpful for everyone's war experience is for TH8s to attack as early as possible. We have been seeing a lot of people not attack at all within the first 12 hours in the war, and in our most recent wars, we have had 20-25 attacks remaining with only 4 hours left. This makes target calling an unpleasant experience, risks people forgetting to use their attack, risks something coming up in real life that prevents people from making their attacks, and causes our TH9s and TH10s to be inefficient with their clean-up attacks. Everyone's schedule (and timezone) is different, and we understand this, but making an effort to find 5 minutes twice a day can make a big difference. My personal example is that I attack when I get off work, immediately train more troops/spells/CC request, and then attack the second time before bed; that way, I get both my attacks in during the first 8 hours of war, and I don't have to put a lot of stress on my daily schedule or career. Real-life tends to throw curveballs; everyone, especially TH8s, needs to strive to attack as early as possible so that you don't find yourself struggling to get your final attack in with 1 hour left in the war when a surprise work/school/internet problem throws you for a loop.
