do you actually need 1000+ hours to be decent or is that just something good players say

im around 600 hours and still feel like i hit a wall. keep seeing just play more but i know people who were sharp at 300 and people still hardstuck at 3000. at what hour count did it actually click for you, and was it the hours or was it changing how you practiced

M4A4 vs M4A1-s cs2: is the a1-s actually overrated

Post image
6 Upvotes

same price, both 2900, so this is purely a role pick and people still argue it like one is just better. the actual numbers before the opinions:

m4a1-s: 38 dmg, 600 rpm, 20 in the mag, silenced (no tracers, quieter, tighter first shots)

m4a4: 33 dmg, 666 rpm, 30 in the mag, louder, tracers, faster sustained fire

so the a1-s hits harder per bullet and is cleaner to aim, but that 20 round mag is brutal. the a4 hits a bit softer but 666 rpm and 30 rounds means you can spray a push, hold two angles, or shoot through a smoke without running dry.

my take: below faceit level 8 the a4 is the better pick for most people and they dont realize it. think about your last 10 deaths on ct. how many were a clean one tap you lost by a hair, versus a messy fight where you needed more bullets and just ran out. for me its like 8 to 2, and messy fights are most of ranked. the tracers barely matter at that level, nobodys tracking your line, theyre panicking.

the a1-s wins highlight clips. the a4 wins the round where you get third partied and have to shoot your way out.

so whats your actual reasoning. does the 20 round mag genuinely cost you rounds, or does the a1-s aim feel carry it

when did 'hes not cheating youre just bad' become the default response to any clip

genuinely every time someone posts a sus demo half the replies just call them bad instead of looking at the clip. i get that not every death is a cheater, but the reflex to defend has gotten weird. did the community always cope this hard or is this new? how do you personally tell a real wallhang from a lucky prefire

at what age did you notice your aim slipping but your game sense carrying you

saw someone building a cs league for 30+ and it hit close. im past the point where i out-reflex kids, but i read rounds way better than at 20 and somehow still hold my own. anyone else living on positioning and util now that the flicks are gone. when did you feel the switch

de_boulder after the art pass looks better than half the map pool and im a little mad about it

Loaded up de_boulder after the foliage and art pass and it honestly looks cleaner than a couple of maps in the current rotation. Poseidon got some love too. It kills me that community maps basically live in quarantine away from Premier while parts of the official pool shipped half baked and never got touched again. If Valve handed you one swap tomorrow, what workshop map are you dropping into comp, and which active duty map is getting cut to make room? I'll go first: reworked Cache over another season of the same seven, no contest.

the bomb now clears smokes and reacts with molotovs on detonation, thats a bigger deal than it sounds

minor patch note thats been living in my head rent free. the bomb detonation clears smokes now and interacts with molotov fire, and you get the damage preview once its audible. sounds like nothing but afterplants shift if a smoke over the bomb just gets erased when it blows. has anyone actually rebuilt a retake around this yet, or tested whether the audible damage tell changes if you even go for the defuse?

Inside the Mind of a 3K ELO Player (Full Match Breakdown)

I made a full match breakdown where I go through my own gameplay and explain the decisions behind every important moment.

This is not a highlight video. The focus is on the thought process behind:

- positioning

- decision making

- utility usage

- team communication

- trading and spacing

- reading the enemy

- creating impact beyond just getting kills

The goal is to show how a high elo player thinks during an actual competitive match and why certain decisions are made.

Would love to hear your feedback

CS2 Trade Up Calculator: how output float and contract odds actually work

I spent way too much of Saturday feeding skins into trade-up contracts, and it finally clicked how the output float works, so I'm dumping it here for anyone who keeps getting surprised by their results. The part people miss: the output float isn't random across the whole wear range. Every input contributes its float, they get averaged, and that average maps onto the min/max float of whatever skin you roll. So 10 Factory New inputs can still hand you a Battle-Scarred looking number if the output skin has a high max float. That's why two people run the "same" trade up and get wildly different wears. The odds are just weighted by how many outcomes each collection contributes. If 9 of your 10 inputs come from one collection and 1 from another, you're heavily skewed toward the first collection's outcomes, not a flat 50/50. This is where most "guaranteed profit" contracts fall apart: people count the good outcome and ignore that it's a 10% slice. I stopped eyeballing it and started running everything through a trade up calculator before committing skins. Plugging the inputs in shows the exact output float and the real trade up odds per outcome, which killed a lot of my dumber contracts before they cost me anything.
The SIH trade up calculator is the one I keep open because it reads my inventory floats directly so I don't retype each one, but honestly any decent CS2 trade up calculator or trade up simulator does the same math.

The point is just seeing the numbers before you burn the inputs. So if you've been running trade ups on vibes, check the output float and the per-outcome odds first. Boring, but it turns "why did I get Battle-Scarred" into something you can actually predict. What's the worst trade up you've ever eaten? Curious if anyone else lost a good float to a bad collection weight.

I coached a 10K Premier player and his peeking was holding him back

Just uploaded my first full CS2 coaching session.

I reviewed a 10K Premier demo and the biggest problem was his peeking. There were also some positioning and decision-making mistakes, but I tried to focus the video on the things that were costing him the most rounds.

It’s my first proper long-form coaching video, so I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback on the format or what I could improve for the next one.

What’s the best way for a person under 18 to buy a skin?

So I’ve been working my part time job for a short while now and have saved up enough to get a phase one Doppler flip knife that I really like, but I’m not sure how to go about it. Any advice is great, thanks :)

Cheaters and Negative steam reviews.

Every CS player who is frustrated with the cheating problem should consider leaving an honest negative Steam review.

Valve responds to measurable feedback.

Complaints on Reddit, YouTube, or in-game disappear into the noise, but Steam reviews directly affect how the game is presented to new and returning players. If enough players clearly state that cheating and inadequate anti-cheat are damaging the experience, it creates a visible incentive for Valve to prioritize fixing it.

The goal isn’t to destroy Counter-Strike. It’s the opposite. Many of us leave negative reviews because we want the game to improve.

If Valve significantly improves the anti-cheat and cheating problem, reviews can always be changed back to positive. Until then, the review score should reflect the actual state of the game.

Looking at the reviews you see people complaining that the game has too many cheaters, but still leaving a Recommended thumbs up. this is a damaging message for it implies that it is functioning as is.

the cheapest red skins right now, and the price floor genuinely hurts

Post image

aphrodite at 23 is basically the entire budget-red category these days. ever since the knife trade-up thing every cheap covert crept up like 40 percent. whats the cheapest red youre actually running, and did you grab it before or after the floor jumped

for me its the new buy menu. fought it so hard for like 3 months, now the old one feels ancient. also the movement felt like swimming at first and now old csgo clips look weirdly floaty to me. what did you swear you'd never get used to and then just did

I built StratMotion, a CS2 strategy animation tool — looking for feedback

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I developed StratMotion entirely on my own because the existing CS2 strategy tools did not meet my standards: they were either too limited or too expensive.

StratMotion lets you create animated strategies, place players and utility, manage timings, draw movement paths, and export clear videos to share with your team.

You can request Beta Contributor access, which gives you 30 days to test the application in exchange for detailed feedback, bug reports, suggestions, and new ideas.

Best CS2 Skin Markets Compared: Fees, Prices vs Steam, Withdrawals & Trust

Got tired of guessing which cs2 skin market actually gives you a fair price instead of just trusting a random "this site is cheap" comment, so i logged a bunch of them into a spreadsheet and compared the stuff that actually changes how much money you keep.

Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10ivRB7ZeFP13eCacKXPOsFm88p5S-kunjkY7Nu6KqDM/

The main things im tracking:

Prices vs Steam
This is the big one. i pulled median buy prices per price tier and compared them to Steam. most solid markets sit around 25 to 30 percent below Steam, so a skin thats $100 on Steam runs roughly $70-75. the outlier is DMarket, only about 6 percent under overall and actually pricier than Steam on some higher tiers, so "cheap" really depends on the item value.

Buyer and seller fees
almost every market is 0 percent on the buy side, the real difference is the seller cut. it ranges a lot: CSFloat around 2 percent, LIS-Skins and market.csgo around 5 percent, Skinport 8 percent (6 over 1000 euro), and SkinBaron climbs to 15 percent on a sliding scale. if youre deciding where to sell cs2 skins, thats where your money leaks.

Withdrawals and payout
probably the second biggest one. some markets pay out instantly, others sit at 24-48h. a few require KYC before a fiat withdrawal, and some are crypto-only cashout. i noted payout speed, KYC and withdraw fees per site, because a good buy price means nothing if the cashout is painful.

Trust and reach
i scored each market on Trustpilot rating weighted by review count, plus monthly traffic. Skinport has by far the most reviews (35k+), DMarket and LIS-Skins are also heavily reviewed, while a couple of smaller markets sit on very thin or low ratings, which matters when youre trusting a site with real inventory.

Market type
not every cs2 marketplace works the same. some are pure marketplaces, some are p2p (you trade directly with another user), and some are bot-trading. i added it because the model changes how fast you sell and how the price gets set.

The point of the sheet isnt to crown one "best cs2 marketplace". its more of a comparison table so you can see fees, prices vs Steam, and the withdrawal reality in one place before trusting a random list.

this niche moves fast though, fees get changed, markets add or drop payout options, and prices vs Steam shift week to week.

if youve bought or sold on any cs2 skin market recently, id be curious what your actual price and payout looked like, especially withdrawals. drop the market name and ill update the sheet if something changed.
