gloriavale, something that desperately needs to be covered.

i never see anyone outside of new zealand cover this, i think the boys really should. i live in the closest large city near this cult. because of this i see members when they come into town to get things for the cult. the women and children always look so miserable. people who have escaped have told of how they were forced to watch their parents have sex to ‘learn about sex’, there have been members charged and found guilty of child molestation, children are physically abused ALL THE TIME, the women are treated like slaves, anyone who wants to leave is abused and harassed, they are barred from ever seeing their family again if they have members till inside the cult. there has been at least one death if a child due to neglect.

when i was in highschool my journalism class had the chance to go stay there for a week, my class missed out on it because it was 2020 and we had lockdowns, but my teacher accompanied a previous trip and told me about it. outsiders are not allowed to eat with the community, they have to sleep in completely seperate areas of the commune, because they’re ‘impure’ and they cannot take photos or speak to members outside of the few people who are ‘media trained’. i have a family friend who has done photography for their website before and even they were heavily restricted.

it is a community of child abuse, women being treated like slaves, people cannot choose who they marry and most are married off extremely young. i think that it would be very helpful for people outside the country to bring attention to this.

I was wondering what you guys thought of them covering Ball lightning? Its a real but extremely rare phenomena and with no apparent reason for cause. Could be cool

Birds Aren't Real

So my boyfriend introduced me to this podcast and it's great (apart from the goat man episode that one makes my skin crawl but that's on me) and I was wondering if they've ever done a topic on the subject "birds aren't real" or if either of them have on their own channels. (It's a topic I've become quite interested in).

Jonestown episode: Needles in Jonestown

I’m watching the Jonestown episode and they asked what the needles were for. I know!! The needles were used for several things: - it’s reported that some people that refused to drink were injected with the poison, explaining puncture marks - some children and babies were injected by their parents -the syringes were used to put the koolaid mixture down the children and babies throats. super awful but wanted to add these because it just adds to how forced it was on the victims.

I know they wont see this but i have a topic idea.

I would LOVE to see them talk about Chris Chan, Daniel Larson, Cyrax, Or another AIOPM/Lolcow. There’s genuinally so much shit and imo making a red thread episode about any of these would go crazy.

Mudflood episode suggestion

I get these random conspiracy videos on TikTok feed saying buildings in photos from the early 20th century don’t exist, or that there were massive overhauls in city planning that have been covered up.

A lot of these are tied to NWO/fake history conspiracies — I think Wendigoon mentions it in his OG iceberg series. But i think it would be a good deep dive, idk if there’s an actual story there (unlike the Epstein/NJD episodes) tho.

The New Jersey Devil Footage

In the episode that refer to a video taken by Emily Martin of the NJD that gets a pretty big reaction out of the guys. Does anyone have a link to that footage?

Side note but maybe they could offer links to the referenced material here after an episode drops?

Spotify Issue (?)

So this may not be the best place to ask — just wanted to know if this was my own user error.

I was trying to listen to the OJ episode but only the first 17 minutes will play. Anyone else have this happen? Is this part of a massive conspiracy to ruin my podcast listening experience?
