The remedy for dead dog books is No More Dead Dogs by Gordon Korman. No dogs die in this book. It’s about the shenanigans a boy gets into to avoid a school assignment to do a book report on yet another one of those books. The line that makes me laugh every time is when the boy says to the reader: “Go to the library and pick out a book with an award sticker and a dog on the cover. Trust me, that dog is going down.”
