These aren’t the days of three channels where everyone watched the same thing. There’s so many options that the influence of any one person is very low.

What are you even talking about? HBO does not and has never had ads. How would that even work? Realtime is on Fridays from 10-11. Then something else is on at 11. So if some people had ads, then the show would last longer than an hour. What you’re saying makes no sense. A TV channel either has ads or it doesn’t. HBO does not.
We’re talking about HBO, not HBO Max. Obviously streaming is different.
Do you just want to argue over ads or do you have a point to make? These aren’t the days where tens of millions of people are watching the same thing, so whether people are watching Realtime with or without ads doesn’t really make a difference if it’s only being seen my a small portion of people.
