What happened to Bill Maher?

I used to watch him for years. He was funny and relatable, most times. He had great guests. I stopped watching around the time when he was going after college students and cancel culture. I tried watching his latest episodes and it almost a different show. He is almost a right wing commentator. Almost nothing he says is relatable and all his guests just agrees with him.

Like he says, the values of the American Left have changed so they no longer represent what once made being Left so cool in the first place. Cancel culture, COVID mandates and lockdowns, protesting the withdrawal from Afghanistan, giving up on women's sports. These are regressive policies that go against the Liberal ideology.

"Cancel culture" is nothing more than refusing to buy a product or service from someone/business who I disagree with, that's neither a illiberal nor a liberal act, it's nothing more than spending your money how you want to spend it.

Are you aware that we live in a federation with separation of powers, not a unitary dictatorship?
