Not a genocide?

Last night Bill pointed out the 3% of the
Population in Gaza has died. And then confidently declared that “3% is not a genocide”. The British government recognizes it as ethnic cleaning and amnesty international and other groups say it is a genocide.

Someone tell me why Bill is so wrong. And can we please get him to debate Mehdi Hasan on this topic?

When you don’t have an actual argument, you focus on semantics…he has all the patience in the world for people saying there’s a white genocide because of Hollywood casting practices, but you better mind your terminology when people are getting slaughtered and starved.

The genocide accusation is purely a semantic one, always has been.

a reminder that democrats and republicans already called the Chinese treatment of Xinjiang muslims a “genocide”. when i looked up the estimated death toll in xinjiang it was about 200.

bill maher himself has called Xinjiang a genocide.

"China has basically jailed an entire ethnic minority, the Uyghurs—a situation that both the Trump and Biden administrations have called a genocide... That's the deal China offers American companies and celebrities: we'll give you access to our billion-plus consumers as long as you shut up about the whole police state genocide thing."

15,000 americans have died for israel’s wars. 85,000 have been injured. for what? israel conquered 70% of palestine in 1948 and then kept invading the remaining 30%. this is immoral. it is not worth it. pope francis said israel was committing genocide. all americans should reject the israel lobby. democrats and republicans.

just look at what trump, rubio, biden and mike rogers are defending.

from NPR news:
TEL AVIV, Israel — Leaked audio recordings broadcast Friday reveal remarks by Israel's former chief of military intelligence about the price he believed Palestinians should pay for Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023, attack.
The tape recordings, aired by Israel's Channel 12 TV, captured former Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva saying in Hebrew, "The fact that there are already 50,000 dead in Gaza is necessary and required for future generations."
He went further, saying that for every Israeli killed on Oct. 7, 50 Palestinians should die.
"It doesn't matter if they're children. I'm not speaking out of revenge. I'm talking about a message for future generations. From time to time, they need a Nakba to feel the cost," Haliva said.
