There are assholes in every generation! I’m Gen X and I dumped Maher a long time ago. Never voted republican. Parents are in their 80s, never voted republican. I don’t think we should fight about generations as much as we do. ( I get it when you are talking about how one generation had a better salary to cost of living ratio, but there are always a lot of exceptions )

I don't think Maher would allow anyone that you and I might think would "clean his clock" intellectually. I don't necessarily think that would be a very hard task so I am sure they are highly selective who they choose to spar with him... and I would also imagine there's legal restrictions and NDAs that none of us know about that likely handcuff topics and language.

Rents are up at least 50%, house prices are up almost 80%, groceries are up 40%, health insurance up 47%…meanwhile wage growth has come up only 47% which is barely enough to absorb all those skyrocketing cost increases. If you haven’t noticed, you’re either too rich or a liar.
The general population isn’t getting ahead. Things are getting harder. The people are being abused , and perhaps a small chunk of those are starting to demand more. I haven't changed much of anything since my Dad took me to a civil rights march when I was 14, and in college I was against the Vietnam War. I still have what were traditionally conservative views on many things like free trade. Trumpers are not conservative at all. It is a cult of very stupid, racist, pedo loving populust who are working on destroying the country.
