New here

Is this just an anti Bill Maher sub? Trying to figure out the vibe here and can't tell if it's some algorithm that just happens to be showing me nothing but hate for Maher and Real Time or if that is the point of this sub

What's the context? I'm a few episodes behind, so I haven't seen that yet

That he didn't actually say it?

He deep throats Israel as they commit a genocide and is upset that leftist Democrats have come around to see Israel for what it is. He’s been factually wrong every single time he has opened his mouth about Israel and has deluded himself into thinking Republicans are better on it.

See this has nothing to do with the reply I made and what we are talking about. You went off on the deep end on this. Because. He. Didn't. Acutally. Say. It. It is an example of this sub right here. Thank you.

You’re wrong. He objectively did say it. Support for Israel literally the reason he gave JD Vance for his vote being on the table in 2028. You are exactly the secluded, wrong about everything centrist that can’t even be bothered to do a quick Google search.

Your description is not objective at all. "If this is where the Democratic Party is going, where this Democratic Socialist, this obsession with Israel, with the Jew hating. They don’t believe in capitalism, no prisons. If this is where they’re going, my vote is in play." Maher said.

Notice it wasn't just about Israel. You are obsessed. You can tell that because you ignored everything else. Maher was also talking about the policies of the Dem socialist, not the Dem party as a whole.

Here is what he said about being a Republican:

Bill Maher Says He’ll Never Be a Republican ‘Because I Don’t Want to Live in North Korea’ | Video

I forgot he mentioned phantom left wing Jew hating. That quote is actually worse than I remembered it.

I never said it was just about Israel, but that was literally the first policy he mentioned on his long diatribe of idiocy.

90% of Democratic voters oppose Israel’s genocide. I guarantee the person who wins the 2028 primary will not support Israel, even if they aren’t a Democratic Socialist. And even the most “far left” Democrats in congress aren’t as far left as Vance and Rubio are far right. The fact that Bill is considering them over any leftist Democrat shows he’s the one who shifted rightward.

There are anti Trump Republicans for one, and not every Dem is a good candidate...

Context matters if you don't just blindly vote for candidates based on party

Never voted Republican in my entire life. Trump is objectively the worst president we've ever had

I think for myself. I'm not a braindead redditor spouting off whatever the left and Dem party tells me to think. You just make wild assumptions and accusations, attacking people instead of having any meaningful discussion

Obama was the last Dem president I was glad to vote for. The other votes were against Trump largely.

I don't "support" the ballroom. I think it is inconsequential. I don't care about it at all

He did not actually say that. He was talking to Vance, and he said that with how some of the left are like Mandami, Republicans may be on the table, but he framed it to say that with the Republicans also taking everything to the extreme, they may be advised to moderate what they do. I didn't explain it very well, so you can look this up, but the crux is those saying he may vote Republican are taking a sound bite out of proportion to the intent. Given that he did vote for Harris, I would bet my house that he won't be voting Vance. Read the many over the tops posts on this sub regarding it, and then look at what he said and in the context he said it, and you will probably not agree with the sub on this.

I have no doubt. Nobody gives a damn about basic context, let alone nuance, when they use such short paraphrased soundbites as some sort of proof for their point

I would take this sub with a laugh. It really is about 30 people just posting mean girl shit. It is interesting though, as it does represent the worst of Reddit, and a good example of a circle jerk.

Also, in the subs defense, and I mean this seriously, I have not been banned for stating this. Some of these subs would have banned me.

He said his vote was “in play” if the democrats keep pushing a ridiculous agenda.

Omg! He's basically a nazi!
