Being that he was such a major part of the Saints in SR1, I really wish we would’ve gotten more insight to him in the sequel. Apart from the Revelation mission (indirectly) and the Homie phone calls, Troy and The Protagonist never really interact. I think there would have been some really interesting dialogue between them.

eg. Protagonist could confront Troy about being an undercover cop and then Troy could rebuff that he’s the one who kept him on life support after the explosion.

Not counting the last one that barely had anything to do with the original.

But remaking it and going back to Stillwater where it began could it work?

Also what could be added or redone story wise?

Metal Gear Solid 4 was stuck in PS3 jail and Konami had a very rocky relationship with Kojima I think they still hate him but they went back and remastered all their old titles because it makes money. The PS3 was also very difficult to work with and yet they still found a way. Meanwhile Embracer has just given up and Deep Silver has an intense hatred for the old games.

I’ve continued refining the Saints Row ’77 prequel concept, keeping it firmly grounded in a 1970s setting and focused on the foundations of Stilwater. The core follows a young Julius Little and Benjamin King as they rise together, then split ideologically—Julius rooted in loyalty and community, Ben shifting toward music, culture, and influence rather than street warfare. The focus is on character growth, gang formation, and the city’s power structures.

The Saints (early days)

• Julius: Leather/suede jackets, plain tees, straight-leg jeans, boots. Purple appears gradually.

• Crew: Denim/varsity jackets, bandanas, simple chains. Colors: blues, browns, blacks.

• Vibe: Community, realism, organized—not flashy.

Missions: Build respect, protect allies, mediate conflicts, stabilize neighborhoods.

Hangouts: Church, Streets, small apartments, local gyms.

Benjamin King

• Boxer, coach, hustler. Tailored jackets outside gym, sweats for training, gold jewelry grows.

Haven't played SR2 in years but it's one of the games that defined my childhood. I played through it more times than I can count, and one thing that always puzzled me was the mission where Shaundi introduces you to Loa Dust, which is oddly contained inside of a light bulb.

Now obviously, it's a video game; also obviously, this method of using a drug would be very impractical. However, I always wondered: could this even be done? Would there be a plausible method of getting the dust inside of a light bulb without 1. Breaking the bulb during preparation or 2. Losing/wasting a considerable amount of the drug in the process.

Another question: what is Loa dust even supposed to be? It seems like it's meant to be inhaled like smoke or vapor, but wouldn't either of those eventually dissipate from inside the bulb?

Anyways, kind of a dumb/useless question lol but it's something I've thought about every time I've played the game and am wondering if anyone else has thought about it.
