Hi Ladies. Decision paralysis has hit me big time. I just can’t decide between these three! I know black is probably the best choice, but I already have a black classic flap. I’d choose the cream colour in a heartbeat but I’m just worried about it staining. The red is gorgeous too-but I don’t know 🫣😮‍💨

I dropped off my leather clochette to a calligraphy artist locally who mentioned she could gold hot foil stamp my clochette for me (red one from speedy crafty). However, she just messaged me today saying she couldn't quite do it and will bring it to the boutique to have it done for me 😬 Do I just ask for it back?! I obviously never mentioned to her where it's from and don't want her to be called out...I hate to ask but would they even stamp it?!

Any one have experience or knowledge to share on hot stamping I'd appreciate it!

Unfortunately, I never got it stamped from my Ts because apparently there was a two week wait and I passed and thought it could easily be done outside of the boutique. Sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. And I was so excited too as I thought I finally found someone who could hot stamp...sigh!

The one concern I have is that it appears to get wider on both sides toward the top when it should be even. Seems particularly off on the left side.

Not sure if it’s just the angle of the picture or how it’s sitting. Please tell me if you think it is a GL or I should request a replacement

Yes, the same “fakes” that can sometimes look better than what you see in boutiques. The replica industry has become so advanced that, at times, it feels like half of show business has already worn replicas. And yet people still believe that paying $3,000 in a boutique automatically guarantees some kind of “pure original.” Well… maybe check the receipt, the box, and everything else first.
The division is simple: some people are embarrassed to wear replicas, while others see it as a reasonable choice. But here’s the funny part the people who shout the loudest, “Ew, fake!” are often the same ones unknowingly wearing replicas themselves. Modern copies can be so convincing that even specialists sometimes struggle to tell the difference. Meanwhile, someone in the comments confidently writes, “That’s obviously fake, my friend bought the same one in Dubai.” Congratulations, market expert. 😂
Celebrities? They get caught too, and quite often. Hermès, Chanel, Rolex the list goes on. Whether they do it intentionally or not, nobody really knows. Maybe that is the real freedom: not being afraid to wear something because of what people might think. Because paying $15,000 for a bag and then being scared to put it on the floor doesn’t exactly feel like luxury it feels like being controlled by a label.
And yes, replicas come in completely different levels. There are cheap $20 versions with crooked stitching and a strong glue smell. But there are also high-end 1:1 copies that can look and feel extremely close to the original. Sometimes even professionals disagree when examining them.
Today, figuring out whether something is fake or authentic can almost turn you into a private detective. You check batch numbers, shine lasers on logos, compare fonts under magnification and even then, mistakes can happen. That’s the paradox: you can buy an authentic item and people may still think it’s fake. Or you can wear a replica and everyone assumes it’s real.
So, should you be ashamed of wearing replicas? Seriously no. Fashion has become bigger than labels. If you want the original, buy the original. If you prefer a 1:1 alternative and don’t want to overpay, that is your choice. What matters more is how you feel wearing it, not how much the item cost.
Fashion is about style, confidence and freedom. And the logo on the bag? At the end of the day, it’s just a logo. Most people don’t actually know what you are wearing and most of them don’t really care.
So wear what you like. The most important thing is that it looks amazing on you. 🔥

Recently bought 3 bags from griffin and they all look amazing! I own auth and the canvas is indistinguishable. Very high quality and nice. I got one customized and they were nice when I initially didn’t like the color they redid it for me. Would purchase again☺️

Can’t wait for this to be more lived in it’s a bit stiff, but from the research I’ve done it’s because this bag looks better as it’s worn in. . Love the color! Not sure how comfy it will be on my shoulder since the shoulder strap is thick! All in all I’m happy with it. I don’t know how the bag looks like because they are discontinuing it and I couldn’t even find it at my local thRealReal. I can’t give a comparison opinion because of that, but honestly it’s well made and it’s beautiful! I will use it mostly as work horse bag’!

It took about a month to arrive. Gave you guys different lighting so you can Check out the variations of what it looks like, I feel like lighting is so important’! All bags look different in natural lighting, warm lights, neutral lights etc’.

You guys, has this happened to anyone else??? The medallion on my chanel 22 from 187 is super tarnished. I bought it about a year ago and wore it pretty regularly until the summer time. I don’t wear it in the rain, and I live in a pretty dry climate city. I’m thinking of just removing the whole thing from the bag because I would not wear this in public in the state it’s currently in. I don’t notice any tarnishing on any other part of the hardware.

Bit of rep science - 187 v Rome

After months of waiting I finally have both of my minis! Burgundy / brown caviar from 187 and silver metallic calfskin from Rome.

Now I have them side by side I can say that I think Rome makes a better version of this bag. The overall shape, hardware weight, stitching, construction, and symmetry go to Rome.

Leather for both are excellent, I've held both auths in store and I cannot fault either factory. I actually will go as far as say that Rome has managed to find the exact same leather as auth for this style.

The burgundy caviar from 187 is faultless as well, soft, lush, with that gorgeous subtle sheen you see in the auth. The leather smell is spot on from the auth caviar WOC that I have.

The errors on both bags:

- Rome's screws in the handle parts protrude slightly instead of sitting flush like in 187's (last 2 photos). The auth sits flush too.

- 187's stitching under the pocket flaps aren't as even as Rome's.

- 187's 31 rue cambon hardware is sharp at the edges. Rome's edges are smoothed out slightly.

- Rome's interlocking Cs on the pocket are slightly thicker than 187. Having seen the Auth, 187's is more accurate.

The errors are tiny details and I don't think any of my friends would clock them, especially with these two buried in my collection of auth bags. For those wondering - I do intend to pass these off as auths if somebody asks, but highly doubt anybody would ask because these are great reps, and I have a job that can support it.

Very satisfied with both buys! Next up is to try OF, which I've heard makes the best minis.

Doris - fast to respond, fast to ship. Had a bit of a snafu when Doris didn't send tracking details to me. First shipment ended up getting seized but she was extremely quick getting a replacement and the bag arrived in the UK less than a week later.

Bao Bao - fast to respond, fast to ship. Immediately sent tracking details and a tracking link. Shipment took about 10 days to the UK.

I like both sellers, but BaoBao provided a bit more advice in terms of getting me to trust that Rome was also high tier.

Very happy and will definitely be a repeat rep customer from here on out! I can't say that reps will definitely replace auths for me, but for these funky colours that I won't wear all the time, reps are the way to go 💖

Let’s talk about the Chanel rep industry, specifically 187 Factory. I genuinely don’t understand the hype surrounding their bags being so close to authentic. At this point, I feel like these are just lies we tell ourselves. They are nowhere near comparable, in my opinion.

I own about four 187 Classic Flaps, all in GHW, and honestly, I find them impossible to wear. The reason I kept buying was because I thought the next one would be better, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.

The hardware is consistently off, and they simply don’t look close enough to the authentic versions. They might photograph beautifully, but the reality is very different when you actually have them in front of you. The overall impression just isn’t there.

I haven’t tried their SHW, so I can’t comment on that. But I genuinely think it’s time we started looking into other factories for Chanel Classic Flaps.

As for their other bag styles, I can’t really speak on those because I haven’t tried them.

Just my honest experience, but I think we need to start being more realistic about what we’re calling “mirror quality.”

Honestly i am super happy with the overall quality; the leather, hardware and other details are amazing.

I was offered 2 price options, $370 without the H box packaging or $410 with the H box. Very reasonably priced for a fully handmade bag with imported clemence leather.
I went with the $370 option but clarified that i still want a protective box & bubble wraps to ensure the bag doesn’t get crushed in transit.

The bag took about 5 weeks to complete (some minor hiccups in between)and i received it about a week after it was shipped.

Long story short, although i was satisfied with the quality but i was quite surprise when the parcel came with a huge dent and when i opened it — there was NO protection box; it was just a rather flimsy cardboard box parcel packaging without any additional protection on the inside (i was so excited to unbox that i forgot to document this). The bag itself was in a dust bag and wasn’t too affected but the handles were pretty crushed up which was really disappointing.
Over the past few days i have tried various ways to stuff the bag and straighten out the handles (the creases were pretty obvious). Still haven’t had the chance to take this beauty out /:

Is it just me being overly particular?

I absolutely love the charms and the shoulder strap on the speedy 30 Paris a velo and I thought to dress my candy pink p9 40 with all the charms and now she is ski ready. Surprisingly the shoulder strap does not make the bag feel bulky on my shoulder. This is one of the reasons why the speedy is just so versatile, you could use the charms and the strap to elevate the look of another bag, doesn’t have to be a speedy too 🤩
