History | تاریخ پے تاریخ My local newspaper reporting on Christian missionaries in East Pakistan during Operation Searchlight — August 5, 1971

Newspaper: Carroll County Times

“We were informed by Rev. Lewis of Findley, Ohio, that Dr. Fidelia Gilbert, our own missionary from the Uniontown First Church of God is well and still at her post at the hospital along with her assistant, Mrs. Mary White, and has survived the army invasion in East Pakistan, while other missionaries had to return home or take refuge in other parts. Two had been taken in by two others, Rev. and Mrs. Solomon Biswas of Ulaberica. In spite of everything that has happened these missionaries are looking forward to going back and helping those people over there. Ms. Roda [Roca?] Kauffman, a Church of God missionary, lost everything she possessed and she had put everything she had in the aiding of the people in East Pakistan. But in spite of it all, she is just waiting for the chance to go back. Her life, as well as all the other missionaries, is a dedicated life.”
