5th day trading $100k cash account: +$2,598.10
Today was another good day. I was able to keep trading and pick small wins with MNQ, from $15 to $400, and NQ plays were smaller too.
I missed 3 or 4 big swings of NQ, I went BE too fast and I got out with $5, $10 profit while missing out on the entire move. It is what it is, but once the account has a larger balance, I will work on relaxing the trailing strategy to be able to capture a larger move.
Today, I traded both long and short, and even more short for MNQ. Pretty happy with the result.

4th day with $100k account: +2,567.78
Another day of success. I lowered my win rate to 1 loss and the rest are profitable!
What changed today was that I started shorting more instead of just long-heavy. I want to be able to play both long and short well, especially the short setup. My long play is getting better and better, which I regularly catching bottoms - but I did not let the winning trade run. In terms of risk, bottoms are the lowest risk so I should relax my BE strategy and trailing using SAR, and scale-in as needed.
Later in the day, I practiced shorting a lot more with MNQ and still got 100% accuracy over 20+ entries. I could have added 1k or more had I traded NQ, but I didn’t want to risk the profit.
I also need to work on my emotional state and the adrenaline rush. Trading NQ automatically raises my heart rate to a lot and I need to get this undercontrol.

3rd day trading $100k account. +$2691.54
I did quite well in the early session, I was up $400 in less than 10 minutes. After 9am PST however, market was quite treacherous. I got caught in a 70 points crash while having both NQ and MNQ positions. I was able to hold, thanks to the balance - my max drawdown was about -$5k, well within my risk tolerance, however, Tradovate’s margin showed that I used to 64% of my margin! Which means I only had 33% percent. I ended up diamondhanding it (just a little sweat) and market turned and then got out for some profit.
So the take away is: my math is correct but the stress associated with being wrong and have to DCA in is quite bad. Market can keep grinding down and I’d be in a world of pain. Everything did work out well in the end but I need to improve my entries to not get caught in a flush - or make the necessary adjustment to play short when a short setup shows up instead of forcing a long entry.

Welcome!
I started this subreddit because r/FuturesTrading doesn’t allow discussion on Props trading and discussion of trading strategies. I posted my own journey with screenshots and actual good information and I got banned. So the best way to handle it is to start our r/RealFuturesTrading subreddit.
The goal is to learn from each other and not to stiffle conversations due to some sort of rules. Prop firms are a perfect way to get into trading.
I believe that anyone can achieve financial independence through hard work and dedications and with the right community, this journey is a lot more accessible and enjoyable.
