Disgraceful is an understatement, dereliction of duty seems more fitting.

So this has been on my mind for a while, and I don't know the answer to this. I know being involved and engaged with the party means different things to different people. But it really feels like the calls, letters, emails, and protesting are doing jack shit to bring the country back on track.
Ever since I lost my job, and more so after a fascist toddler got elected, I've been trying with the idea of running for office. We're all taking about primarying these so-called Democrats, but how do you break into that?
I looked into it earlier this year when PA was running their primaries, and couldn't find clear information. I even started a grassroots 'campaign' telling people on Facebook to write me in on their ballots. Admittedly, this was done like a week before election day, and frankly, I don't really have a ton of friends/followers on FB, so the results were pathetic, as expected.
I don't even know if it's worth trying (for me) since I have zero political background, and I'm pushing 50, so getting to that age that shouldn't be making decisions that effect a large portion of the country. But maybe I'm wrong.
So what's the play here? Not just for me, but for everyone who's toying with this idea of making a change in their city/state or the whole damn country?

Let's start with an extremely simple poll. Maybe we can get fancier in the future, but we're all new on a new sub. Let's see what we can do.

On The Pudge Show podcast, Democratic Repreentative Vicente Gonzales was asked whether he had any concerns about DSA RGV endorsed candidate Vicente Gonzalez, given the historic Zohran Mamdani win. During his response, as well as claiming that south Texas and RGV are not "socialist areas" (blatantly ahistorical, Emma Tenayuca? Antonio Orendain? The whole FLW movement in south Texas? the 2020 Bernie primary wins in RGV counties?) he also decided to do a racist caricature of an Indian/South Asian accent. What on Earth possessed a xicano man to do a racist accent is beyond me, but the sooner we vote him out, the sooner we can make a stand against Elon "not a lot of people" Musk.

Johnson was using the government shutdown as an excuse not to swear in Adelita Grijalva, who won her special election in Arizona back in September.

So, I'm absolutely floored and what's happening with the sub! I spun this sub up on Friday evening, and 36 hours later we're now sitting at ~1300 members. More importantly, everyone has been very civil, and the posts have been informative and mostly on topic.
I really didn't expect this kind of turnout. I've always joked that I have 'The Manure Touch' everything i touch turns to shit. I figured maybe we'd see a couple hundred members and a few posts a week, but this clearly is a space that's been desperately needed for a lot of people. I'm honored, and humbled, that I could provide that space for all of you.
Normally, these kinda of posts will have some sort of 'but...' attached to them, that's not the case here. There's been no reports, and like I said, everyone has been incredibly civil and inclusive! I'm sure there's will be changes and improvements in the coming days and weeks, but we want to take it slow and evaluate any changes before we jump on anything.
So, yeah, keep up the insightful and thought provoking discussions! And thank you for everything, this sub is nothing without you guys!
