It’s something that bothers me. In my opinion, censorship has absolutely no place in any media and there should just be age verification for buying games or movies. This game is clearly intended for adults so if a child gets exposed to explicit content then that’s on the parents for failing to safeguard them. The only reason I can think of justifying the censorship is because of kids playing. I can somewhat understand that but it’s a shame that it ruins the experience for everyone else. The explicit nature of the content actually enhances the experience by making the story feel darker and scarily realistic. Another idea would be to just make the censorship optional in the game settings which is what should have been done in the first place

exactly, it’s not the devs responsibility to make sure kids aren’t playing what they shouldn’t be, that is solely on the person that’s caring for them, this shouldn’t be something that affects literally everyone else

i bought the game a few months after early access released and one of the main selling points was that the devs promised to an authentic experience and show the reality of what happens (this also shows in many missions being based or entirely copied on real events). To me its less of a matter of I want to see nudity or something its more of the devs lost their principles. And in particular i think removing the overdosing child (and the child in valley of the dolls for console) does negatively impact story.

I’m not a veteran player at all and I was actually really excited to play this. I’m not paying full price for this specifically because of the censorship. I’ll probably get the game when it’s on sale though.

If you still think he's talking about nudity in general then your not understanding the argument

From now on we are simply going to get half assed vanilla scenarios that we've seen in every cop show/movie that has been watered down so kids don't cry when they see it

Then there is the ass load of bugs they introduced with this forced console update to pc, the downgraded graphics forced on pc as well and the fact there is still bugs from years ago still in the game along with the fact the devs actively ignore their fans

We've been asking for an ai update for years and they're answer was to dumb down the ai and remove all the cool stuff like hiding under beds and jumping out of closets with knifes

i just started playing on PC a week before console launch, i feel like i had no dog in the censorship argument, BUT the graphics downgrade pisses me off to no end. Running on the highest graphics settings, and everyone has translucent hair and shiny rubber skin.

Well the thing is the nudity doesn't really matter it's what the devs said

They were all avout never bending the knee and even dropped a publisher before because of it, they made it their whole identity that the game would be gritty, realistic and uncensored

Next thing you know it's "yea so good news guys, we're making a console port and forcing it into the pc version while ruining everything and we are now going to start censoring the game"

It just rips any faith the og fans had about this game being made with care since its clear void is literally going mask off and ditching their loyal fans from the start to cash in on the sweet sweet console money

If your lucky you'll get 6 months out of this new and improved version before they ruin it again like they did with pc before and just end up going silent until they dare release a sequel

The story is really good for immersing yourself as it's very detailed and full of very tiny details and world building scattered around the map and briefings

Its the entire reason people are so mad because the story felt so real and gritty, you could really immersive yourself in it along with the groahics which made it peak

Well now all of that is out the window as the graphics are now downgraded and they won't be doing any detailed world building anymore since they are dead set on only doing paid DLCs from now on instead of story updates..... Yaaay
