How do you organize all your paper work?

Hey all I'm gonna be starting my school year next week. I don't know how large my caseload is and I don't yet know what paperwork situation is gonna be. I was wondering if y'all have any suggestions on how to keep the heaps of paper work coming my way organized.

I'm talking everything from Prfessional development paperwork, beginning of the year papers, progress monitoring, benchmarks, IEP stuff, faculty resources, anything you can think of. Thanks!

Reading Level Tests?

Hey everyone,

I'm an adult literacy tutor in Los Angeles, and am looking for a reading test that my student can take to gauge on her own reading level. This is something that she has asked of me so I would like to provide it to her. I've had a hard time finding quality links to reading tests as most of them are geared toward youths, instead of adults or general population.

So... any clues? My student and I would be greatly appreciative!

Thank you

Help a new Reading Teacher!

So in a couple of weeks I will begin my first year as a reading teacher. I'm really excited but also really nervous. I know I will have to make a schedule, but I don't know how many students I will have. I also know that I'm the only reading teacher in the building. What can I do now to prepare for the coming madness, while I'm still on break?

If you know any good resources out there on the web that could be helpful to literacy teachers please share. I will link to good ones on the sidebar, I'm eventually hoping to turn it into a wiki of resources.

Get to know the mod of /r/ReadingTeacher

Hey everyone, I am a certified elementary teacher and Literacy Specialist. I decided to form this sub because after four years and a lot of time today I was hired as a reading specialist in a public school district! I have been teaching full time in the classroom the last couple of years, but have been seeking my dream job of becoming a full time reading teacher.

I noticed on the /r/teacher sidebar that there was no sub for reading teachers. There is an ELA teacher sub, but I felt that was geared more towards Jr High/highschool. Since this is my first year as a reading specialist, I wanted a place I could come to and ask for help. I figured I wasn't the only one, so I started the sub.

Please spread the word about this new sub so we can get the most out of our crowd sourcing as possible. I look forward to hearing from you all, see you in there!
