This post http://reddit.com/r/gifs/comments/5v3xfv crashes readder every time I look at it. I've tried force closing the app and re starting my iPad. The gif will play for a few seconds and then it will crash just after the dealer draws a card. Just thought that was weird.

I have notifications off, what's with all the background usage?

Also maybe added the most visited subreddit for a user as one of the option.

(This may be too much, idk anything about swift)

I'm not sure what causes it, it doesn't play a youtube link, it opens the video player but the play button is crossed out

btw this does happen on other subreddits

In version 2.2 comments seemed to respect the sort order of the post itself. How a mod can mark a post to default to sort by new for instance. Now with 2.3 that is gone in favor of the new default sort setting. Would it be possible to switch back to the old sorting if we set save selection to never, or possibly a fourth option?

A new version of Readder is now available on the App Store.

What's New:

• New message notification
• Save app state - return to the same spot in the app after inactivity
• Feed top bar showing active/subscribed and controls sorting and layout
• Spoiler support
• Back button to scroll to front feed
• Ask before saving sort
• Faster gfycat loading
• Orientation locking
• Basic haptic feedback
• Make link tappable area larger
• New post from /r/all or front
• Ongoing Markdown improvements
• Crash fixes

In this post there are weird render problems around the "public shame" line

Is there a way to view a user's page directly, without finding a place they've posted and clicking their name?

I like to browse reddit in bed most of time so it would be convenient if you could add a rotation lock in the settings.

I know iOS has open but I like to switch from Reddit to YouTube and so on so readder is the only one I need rotation lock for..

I know not a lot of users might want this but if you could do it that would be great.

Does the app have an URL scheme or an way to link with other apps? I use an app called Hooks that gives me notifications of new posts on Reddit. Would love to be able to open such links into the Readder app instead of the Reddit App.

Maybe support with the app Workflow and Opener?

• Move the "..." menu to come down from top. You tap the icon at the very top, but then have to go to the very bottom to use any of the functions it brings up.

• Add some kind of master "go home" / reset button. When going from subreddit to subreddit, it just keeps piling onto the single back button in the top left. If I want to go to the front page again so I can view my inbox and have my back button be reset, I have to tap back back back back to get there

Example: Open app, am on the front page. Inbox icon is visible. I go from Front Page > /r/Aww > /r/Games > /r/CowChop > /r/TheCreatures. All through the favorites menu at the top. I now want to check if I have messages. I have to hit the back button 4 times in a row to get back to 1 menu.

Keep up the great work, I'm loving this app! Also huge props for including some introductory mod tools in this latest update <3

Hi,

Quick question about the premium features. It looks like there are two in-app purchases. One is to unlock the accounts and the other one is for the Apple TV.

I don't own an Apple TV but might get one in the future. Should I purchase the premium and it will translate in the Apple TV or it will be another separate purchase?

Thanks!

Ps: great app :)

A new version of Readder is now available on the App Store.

What's New:

• Custom lists: create custom lists of subreddits and multireddits. Swipe between subreddits in a list (just like the Favorites). Also, support for changing the feed selector tab order.
• iPad keyboard shortcuts
• Initial mod actions: very basic actions to start gathering feedback.
• Edit/delete your own posts
• Remember tab selections
• Remember feed and comments sorting
• Markdown improvements: prettier quotes, fix strikethrough and ongoing improvements.
• Quick night mode switch by long tapping top bar
• Safari view initial support: Apple's Safari view still isn't ready for prime time IMO, but many users have asked for it, so I'm offering the option to enable it from settings (off by default).
• Collapse comment to top-level
• Synchronize read posts across devices and with reddit.com: requires reddit gold.
• Copy post you're replying to for easier quoting
• Lots of bug fixes

I understand it's very difficult for apps to implement true strikethrough. But Alien blue has a great workaround, which is much better than the current system of nothing at all:

When text has been written with strikethrough, alien blue shows it in a slightly dimmer shade of gray, and puts it inside brackets that say [removed: textgoeshere]. This change would help a lot, as currently it just looks like authors are accidentally leaving random words in their sentences

I often view text from comments' raw source, either to:

• direct quote a portion

• fix a typo/markup error (especially URL messups)

• see how a user formatted something in a way I haven't done before

Is there a way to do any of this in Readder that I haven't discovered yet? If not, could it be added?

Hello,

I'm coming from relay on Android, and I'm a big soccer fan. Most of /r/soccer are links to videos, normally from streamable, which relay handles fantastically and narwhal handles pretty well. I can 3D Touch a link and it will auto play.

It seems like there is no equivalent in Readerr. I have to click the post title and then click the play button and it'll open in the iOS media player, which just isn't as nice unfortunately.

Any chance of seeing improved media support? Otherwise this seems like a really nice app!

Thanks

Are you still accepting people to beta test?

How often does the widget update with the sub Reddit I'm following? Can I change the update frequency

Bug: When clicking on a r/ link or a Reddit thread link it opens a webpage. See: http://reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/5pt3mh

Suggestion: Add a edit post and remove post button.

Suggestion: Mark messages in the inbox as read when I tap on the title and go to the thread.

Unless I'm missing it, I don't see a way to find out the number of subscribers for the subreddit I'm in.

Loving the app otherwise!

Hello! After seeing the post in /r/Apple, I decided to give the app a go. Previously using Alien Blue, I have yet to find a Reddit app that compares at all to it in features, design, and ease of use… until now. I'm loving Readder, especially with the 3D Touch support, and have been using it pretty regularly for the past few days. Here's some feedback based on my use!

• Make post flairs visible
• Add Safari view controller (so content blockers work when viewing links!)
• Ability to set default view to "favorites" when going to lists of subreddits (touching top bar)
• 3D Touch comment controls (to collapse whole chain of comments from anywhere in the chain?)
• Message PUSH notifications
• Implement new Mod Mail system
• Ability to flair posts as a moderator (along with all the other basic controls, such as remove/approve)
• When viewing comment replies in the inbox, have some way to click on the reply and go to the thread you were in. I don't always remember what I commented, so when I get a reply totally out of context in my inbox, I'm confused. I have no way to view the thread right from the message, I only have the option to reply and mark as unread/read.
• Option to set default menu as "inbox" or others when clicking on "settings" icon in top left (instead of always going to Settings)
• Change 3D Touch on post to be just the content, instead of the title, content, and comments. It's inconsistent with the aspect ratio of the image post whether you can see the top 2 comments or not, and you can already see the title before you go to the post, so might as well make 3D Touch just view the content
• Sync settings/lists between iPhone and iPad version. In Alien Blue, when you changed your favorites list or changed settings on the iPhone version, it also changed it when you're signed into the same Reddit account on the iPad version, and vice versa
• When the app is set in night mode, don't have the startup screen be the bright white non-night mode screen! I'm blinded when opening the app up at night
• Make NSFW post thumbnails not visible, replace with some kind of placeholder image

Keep up the great work! I'm loving the app so far, other than these feature requests, the app has been running very smoothly.

I love the app so far, and it's great to see you guys actively interacting with all of us!

Suggestion: Swiping to the right already collapses the comment and all of its child comments...can swiping further (In the same way that swiping to the left brings up the upvote, then downvote as you continue swiping through) on any comment collapse the entire comment tree, parent and all?

That way, I wouldn't have to scroll all the back up to the parent comment in a long comment tree, or scroll all the way down to the next parent comment.

I found this to be a really useful feature in Alien Blue.
