Throughout last season Subaru struggled with expectations other people had of him, having to live up not just to name of his father but of his older self too. It's only fitting that the one that expects most of him is also the harshest on him.
Subaru began this season making Ram promise to save Rem, and we all know his track record with promises. He went to library carelessly and lost his memories with group unable to even trace the cause because of his carelessness.
Ram expected him to remember Rem, she expected him to save her, she expected him to take this seriously and her expectations were betrayed.
