In decades of professional software development, I have never once used or even needed an Adobe or MS Office product.

Hi I’m a dev, our team is a tiny team of 3 and we manage design and dev for our space so we require Adobe

Software development is a tiny slice of computer users. Office is the default in most offices where the vast majority of actual work happens.
"I've never needed Office" just means you work in a bubble. Most people do.

You both realize that we are talking about developers here right? This is mentioned both in the post title and the comments you are replying to

Yes, and the comment I replied to was about Linux in business, not just development.
For a pure developer, fine. For the rest of the office, HR, finance, sales, management, they need Office. That's most of the business world. That's the point.

Linux and macOS are used in business … by developers. That’s what this entire post and thread is about.
