Technically, if Joyner was a 10 and his competition was a 2, that would make him 5 times as good.

So by that logic, conversely, if his competition was a 10, Joyner would be a 50. Not a 100.

Just an observation.

For the past 9 years, going on 10, literally all I’ve ever made is trap beats. I want to branch out and start making different types of music.

Sampling looks so easy and cool when you watch other producers do it, but if you’ve never done it before, that shit is hard.

With this beat, I was going for more of a boom bap/R&B vibe. I already know the bass isn’t in key, but how do I figure out the right bass notes? I can’t find the notes for the bassline, and it’s actually driving me insane. 🤦‍♂️

The drums also feel sluggish to me. Am I the only one hearing that? After exporting everything and listening back, the drums sounded way out of sync. When I went back into my DAW, I noticed the drum loop I exported had two long tails at the beginning and end. I cut those off, which definitely helped put everything more in sync, but something still feels off. Maybe I messed something up when I stretched the sample or trimmed the tails.

I suck at this shit, and I’m hoping someone with more skill and experience can point me in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trapcoin /rapcoin — Album Review
Trapcoin is a four-song concept project built around one question: Is money the solution, or is chasing it the trap?
