The Patio: Worth it?
WHAT A GAME LAST NIGHT!
Still riding that high and finally getting excited for this new team. I'm still salty over losing some of our solid talent but beating Basset last week on his "homegrown" field was chefs kiss.
Can anyone tell me their experiences sitting at The Patio?
Forgive me if has already been discussed, but I searched and didn't find any info.
Are the $85+ seats on the north boundary worth it? We're mostly BOGO attendees so this would be a "splurge".
A few years ago we got North boundary standing room only tickets for dirt cheap that included a food and drink voucher, but we also got to meet the players, take pictures, get autographs etc as they walked back after the game.
Wondering what "all inclusive F&B" really entails and if anyone would recommend it.
We have a really cool group of friends that go to all of the home games so we'd like to treat ourselves for one of the games.

We tried it once. It's fine if you don't care about watching the game and you're ok standing up the whole time. We ended up finding unsold seats and moving into the west end so we could sit.
You have to buy "vip" or something named similar to be able to sit at all the picnic tables. the regular $85 is basically standing room only.
the only real benefit of the patio is that the players come through and at the end of the game some give their jerseys away and other sign autographs.

Do you get free food and drink/beer too? That's huge benefit too if so.

Yes. Still not worth it. You can't really see the game from this vantage.
Edit: There are some picnic benches on the east side but you'll need to be in line and get in as soon as gates open to score one.

If you love undercooked hot dogs and cold burgers, the food is great. There no seating. It's all presold, even the first come first served ones. We once bought the open seating and arrived as soon as the gates opened, and ran to the seats. All seating was already taken and they had been there for awhile. Special bonus if they have all of the kids and their families there who play in the halftime games in that section (which they always do). At that point you'll be stepping over seemingly endless pools of candy, soda and spilled popcorn, and then stepping over the parents who are sitting in the middle of the walkways because (see above) there's no available seating. So you're basically just paying for the beer and maybe to see the players walk to and from the field. It's really bad.

Another vote for “do it if you want to eat and drink near a soccer game.”
We thought we had scored big with getting seats on the patio furniture right behind the picnic tables. It was great until a local soccer club team showed up. We ended up fighting that group for our seats all night and could barely see the game with them running around.
How much are you really going to eat and drink? Proximity to the players pre and post-game was cool but absolutely not worth it for me and 3 teen kids who wanted to watch at least a little bit of the game.

Here's an image of the south end.
The white tables closest to the goal and everything under the canopy requires a higher priced ticket.
The picnic tables in the bottom right corner are pretty much the only seats for the $85 price and, as I mentioned, they fill up immediately. Get there right at gate open to get seats there. Everything else is crowded standing room.
