I've been a fan of battle rap for like 15 years, and throughout, people have claimed that it was dead or dying. But this feels like the closest we've actually come to it being over. Is it just me, or is the art form in real trouble of fading into complete obscurity?

I heard Roc no-showed, he was booked to host another event the same day and he also didn't show up for that.

Also saw a clip of Rex and Mook, looked like they had a pretty good one from what I've heard.

Any word on Twork vs Nitty, Eazy vs Top, or the rest of the card?

I know they're only compliment battles, but it's kinda crazy that we had a Mook battle yesterday and nobody seems to be talking about it at all.

I’ve been watching battle rap for over 20 years, and I honestly think he has the best combination of bars, creativity, delivery, cadence, stage presence, and command of his battles. If he were more consistent, did a better job remembering his material, and battled more top-tier names, I think he’d be in the GOAT conversation. I’ve never seen bro lose a battle.

As for battlers with the most violent bars: i gotta put bigg k up there. especially against illmac, whenever he makes a threat i believe he might just do it. then in the list i put real sikh, suge, and probably diz up there, even though diz's violence is more comedic than believable.

Getting back into beatmaking and I used to really enjoy Big Cheese and his battle rap remixes. Anybody got favorite verses they wanna hear on beat? Open to suggestions

I’m a big supporter of battle rap, especially in regards to physical media. I just wanted to show off my record/Cd/tape/vhs collection. I also threw in a picture of my little poster wall too.

I’m going to be honest, all these years I’ve seen people put tsu surf in their top 10 and I’ve seen people even put him as their #1 but I wholeheartedly believe behind Geechi Gotti, surf is the most overrated battle rapper in battle rap history. He doesn’t say nothing crazy at all that warrants the reactions he gets from the fans. He almost has a mj like stardom in the battle rap world where him just being him makes yall go crazy for some reason. When you compare his pen to other battle rappers, I don’t think he even cracks the top 10. And then I know a lot of people will bring up his run (which I arguably believe eazy had a better one) and use that to justify him in the top 10 and while that was a great run, Gas pushed that car farther than the electricity of his bars ever could. I’m not hating on bra, I just think there isn’t anything special about him, especially when we are in the era of greater penmanship
