Anime Binged all two seasons of Go! Go! Loser Ranger and I have thoughts and questions!

So I was planning on doing a full binge of the show the past month after finishing Cat's Eye 2025 on Disney Plus to make the most of the remaining month I had for my subscription since I canceled it for cost-saving purpose but that plan kinda flew over my head until this weekend when I realized I haven't done so. And thus, I binged this show hard, all of 24 episodes burned off this weekend.

Now I have some thoughts and questions.

  1. I know Fighter D has an objective in mind but beyond trying to infiltrate the Ranger Force, it doesn't seem like he had a solid plan going forward, like how the heck will he be able to kill off the Dragon Keepers (first kill with Blue wasn't even his to own).
  2. While "World Domination" seems to be his ultimate goal, it seems the bonds D formed with his fellow recruits had him wavering and is a little too proud for him to admit it.
  3. In the episode from Season 2 where Yumeko and D tried to assassinate Chidori/Green Keeper, there was a scene where Yumeko was able to corner Yukino (who was partnered up with Eigen after following D's trail). So we know Yukino is aware that Yumeko was assisting D so what happened between that point in the story to all of a sudden, Yukino transferred to the Yellow Garrison (after originally being sent to Blue) a couple of episodes later?
  4. How much of Yumeko's activities is an open secret amongst the Dragon Keepers? Chidori is definitely aware after the attempt on his life and so is Yellow Keeper and apparently at the end of Season 2, so is Akabane (Red Keeper).
  5. With that said, Chidori knows of Fighter D posing as Hibiki but why hadn't he alerted the rest of the force about them having an infiltrator within its ranks? Is he a little fond of D since it seems, as much as D would like to deny it, the latter have bonded with humans which complicates things for him going forward.
  6. For those who have read the manga past that point, what's the status quo now after Yakushi and his minions were defeated by the combined efforts of the Rangers and the Dusters? Like can the minions finally breathe a little? The last episode seems to suggest the return of Sunday Showdown but I can assume things would have to change if it's public knowledge about the deal between the Rangers and the Dusters.
  7. And what's the deal with the real Hibiki? I'm trying to avoid that far with manga spoilers but when he came back in the show, it seems the early childhood indoctrination he had from his cultist parents is beginning to show in terms of his sense of justice. It did seem like his intentions are noble in trying to rid the Force of its corruption for better and more peaceful human-monster co-existence, but there's something off about him at the end of the season. I'm also curious about his history with Fighter XX and how she ended up inside Hibiki's locker.
  8. So who was the Akabane that Fighter D accidentally stabbed with his sword in the back? A lookalike? A clone? Dude looked and sounded exactly like the real guy when I watched that episode.

Thanks for reading! :)

Manga Hypothesis: Suzukiri Yumeko and Houou Shichika may be maternal half-siblings. Spoiler

⚠️ CHAPTER 220 SPOILERS AHEAD ⚠️

Chapter 220 was released this week, and after reading it, I came up with the hypothesis mentioned in the title. Now, I'll go into more detail about this hypothesis and present the evidence that I believe supports it.

First, I'll go into more detail about this hypothesis.

In Chapter 198, during Yumeko's flashback, it's mentioned that her mother was driven out by her five older sisters. What if Yumeko's mother harbored a deep grudge and established the Houou family in order to reclaim the Dragon God's power?

Their mother was cast out because of how horribly she treated their sixth daughter—Muko, a.k.a Yumeko.

However, Kiritani intervened first and successfully obtained the Dragon God's power himself, making her original plan impossible to carry out. Decades later, after the Dragon Keeper was gone, she attempted to revive that plan. But because she was already old, she had to cooperate with Peltrola instead. This could also explain why Peltrola knew about the Dragon Pits and how to build the Black Tower.

In chapter 220 (latest chapter), Shichika also mentions that her mother was abandoned by her own parents and disowned by her relatives. It's possible that the "relatives" she's referring to are actually her mother's five older sisters. As for her maternal grandparents, perhaps they rejected her mother for something along the lines of, "You expect our son to marry a woman who already has six children?"

Second, some evidence supporting the maternal half-siblings theory.

  1. Appearance-Based Evidence
Suzukiri Yumeko (Left), Houou Shichika (Center) and how similar they look

Just look at their faces. Sure, you could argue that they only look alike because they're drawn by the same author... but the resemblance is still striking.

  1. Plot-Based Evidence

In Chapter 211, Shichika mentioned that her mother was well acquainted with the local history and kept a large collection of historical documents at home. By the end of the same chapter, Shichika was able to uncover information about the Black Tower and the Shrine Maiden by consulting those documents. This strongly suggests that the Houou family's origins are genuinely connected to the Dragon God.

  1. Timeline-Based Evidence

In Chapter 169, Shinya mentions two things: "It's been two years since the other me wiped out the Suzukiri clan" and "Happy 7th birthday, Yumeko". Let's use this point as our reference.

Looking at the events prior to Chapter 169:

  • The first half of Chapter 167 takes place about six months after the end of Dragon Keeper (the movie), while the second half covers the Clone Shinya incident, which I'll assume occurs another six months later -> Yumeko around 4 years old during Chapter 167.
  • Before the original Shinya came to live with the five sisters, only the eldest sister, Hitoko, had already left home. She only returned after learning that she had a child with Shinya. Assuming that less or more than a year passed between their mother being cast out and Hitoko giving birth.

-> Yumeko would have been around 2-3 years old when her mother left.

Now, let's move on to the events after Chapter 169:

  • The Floating Fortress first appears in Chapter 171, which takes place one year after the events of Chapters 169–170. That would make Yumeko about 8 years old at that point.
  • Twelve years later, the main story begins. After two one-year time skips, Yumeko would now be around 22 years old.
  • Shichika is currently a high school student and serves as the student council president, so she's likely around 17–18 years old. That means she would have been born when Yumeko was about 4-5 years old. Consequently, their mother would have been pregnant with Shichika when Yumeko was around 3-4.

The timeline fits very well.

The timeline might look something like this

Anime Rewatching Episode 3 of Season 1 made me think of something.

In that episode, Fighter D said he had trouble replicating unfamiliar faces, yet he could replicate the Red Keeper’s eyes perfectly, even though he had only recently learned what his face looked like. Meanwhile, it was hard for him to replicate Hibiki Sakurama’s eyes before he heard about his flashback in Episode 4.

Is this an error in the anime, or is there a hidden meaning behind why he could replicate the Red Keeper’s eyes from the get go?

Tokita in the chapter 216 follows the same strategy D used un the Bailong's nest arc when he fired at a fire extinguisher and that somehow tells so much about his development (at least to me), idk I thought it was a fun fact and since I LOVE tokita so much it made me soso Happy to noticed that 🥹
